Edited by Alewen on 11/7/10 10:17 AM (PST)
Hello fellow Roleplayers. I've set this post up because there's some really fantastic new to azeroth roleplayers out there that probably could use some help on how to RP x race. Well this forum has a 5000 characters limit (Blizz might I suggest increasing this please) So instead, I am going to link to the posts I put together using wowwiki and other sources for you all here on my server's fan made community site.

Also if you think this thread is a good help for new rpers, maybe we can get this stickied? |

Maybe if we "like" it enough, it will get stickied!

Some things on certain races that I don't necessarily agree with but by and large a well done set of posts.

ooo very nice!

Good job, liked and reported for sticky. thanks all for the compliments. I did a lot of research to make these to help RPers. Some things on certain races that I don't necessarily agree with but by and large a well done set of posts. Any specifics you didn't like? I am always looking for feedback on how to improve them. |

Just a few things that are generally controversial, and even if there's evidence to the contrary it's usually dismissed. People don't like parts of RP that are "Uncomfortable". I'd rather not derail the thread with discussion of it(Like usually happens).

After a quick skim over a few of these guides, I can say that you have my full support. As an avid sin'dorei roleplayer, I thank you for your "Helpful Hints" about blood elves.
I'm a bit busy now, but I definitely look forward to reading these in-depth sometime later tonight or tomorrow night. |
Good job, liked and reported for sticky. Very good guides! Since you asked for feedback, Let's see... Overall very good. I have some quibbles with the helpful hints about the blood elves, one of my favorite races. Almost all of the hints are negative ones, ie what you should NOT do when playing a blood elf. It would be good to include a few that show you how you SHOULD play one too. I hate to go PC police on you but you might want to restate this one: - Blood Elves are not homosexual either. Blizzard may of made the jokes seem homosexual in nature, but the blood elves still hold their overal straight ways. Perhaps something along the lines of, "Blood Elves are no more likely to be homosexual as any other race. Blizzard may have made some homosexual jokes, but the majority of blood elves are straight." /PC Police hat off I think that's it for now. Like I said great guides for Roleplayers and people who are just curious about the lore. |

THANK YOU! many many people take the misconception that goblins and gnomes "hate" eachother. They dont and im glad someone pointed it out! I'm not trying to sound like im awesome or anything but i know everything about everything on Goblins!

Love the guides. Learned a few things about Blood Elves reading it. The only request I would have would be for a timeline to know when things happened, so people can determine what their character did or did not live through. The official time line on worldofwarcraft.com gives years for when the books took place, but thats only helpful if one's read the books.

As far as Trolls go, remember that their skin is not blue/green what have you. They have a short layer of fur (less like fur and more like fuzz) that gives them their color. Forest Trolls on the other hand have a layer of moss that gives them their green color. I have also RPed as a Drakkari troll in Lespri for a short time. However I had a very good reason to do so and a good story to back him up. Trolls from other tribes are possible but are more difficult to pull it off then Darkspear, Revantusk, or Zandalari.

Love the guides, they're really helpful. Wondering if you know anything specific about how someone is turned into or made a death knight - lore wise.
Thanks in advance. |
Love the guides, they're really helpful. Wondering if you know anything specific about how someone is turned into or made a death knight - lore wise. ^ This, in fact I'd probably be able to talk your ear off in an attempt to clean up a random character I'd thought a while back; when I considered writing a WoW fanfic introducing sort of new race. That, however is a bunny trail for another day. Overall very nice, except that with exceptional willpower undead can wield the Holy Light at the cost of intense pain. Being healed by the Holy Light is also stated to resemble having the wound cauterized. |
