Druids harness the vast powers of nature to preserve balance and protect life. With experience, druids can unleash nature’s raw energy against their enemies, raining celestial fury on them from a great distance, binding them with enchanted vines, or ensnaring them in unrelenting cyclones.

Druids can also direct this power to heal wounds and restore life to fallen allies. They are deeply in tune with the animal spirits of Azeroth.

As master shapeshifters, druids can take on the forms of a variety of beasts, morphing into a bear, cat, storm crow, or sea lion with ease. This flexibility allows them to fill different roles during their adventures, tearing enemies to shreds one minute and surveying the battlefield from the sky the next. These keepers of the natural order are among the most versatile heroes in Azeroth, and they must be prepared to adjust to new challenges on a moment’s notice.

Druid Information

Druids are versatile combatants, in that they can fulfill nearly every role – healing, tanking, and damage dealing. It’s critical that druids tailor the form they choose to the situation, as each form bears a specific purpose.

  • Type Tank, Healer, Ranged Magic Damage Dealer, Melee Damage Dealer
  • Standard Bars Health, Mana, Rage, Energy
  • Available Armor Cloth, Leather
  • Available Weapons Daggers, Fist Weapons, One-Handed Maces, Polearms, Staves, Two-Handed Maces
Druid Talents

Druid talents focus on improving the powers of their natural and animal forms, enhancing their ability to summon forth natural phenomena, or increase the potency of their life-giving healing magic.

Druid Features
Versatility

Druids’ changing forms let them assume different roles and focus on either tanking, healing, or damage. They can also shapeshift to travel faster on land, sea, and air.

Healing

By calling upon the powers of nature, druids are able to swiftly restore health to their injured allies.

Defense

When shapeshifted into their bear form, druids possess a thick skin and imposing presence that makes them ideal front-line protectors of weaker party members.

Melee and ranged damage

Druids can take on the form of a savage cat in order to claw and bite their enemies up close, or that of a wild moonkin to blast enemies from afar.

I look forward to MoP, because then I can get a glyph so I don't have to have my Balance Druid as a fat owl humanoid creature.

@Shana: It's not just a fat owl humanoid creature, it's a lazer chicken for goodness sake. Anyway, balance has the best spell effects and the new astral glyph in Mists is looking pretty cool.

@Mellowfellow: You need a two handed or one handed and off hand (if they have some) with agility on it. If you are a bear or cat which ever has more agility on it :).

@Crath: Feral you always want two hand agility weapons. Feral attack speed is always a baseline 1 second or something like that, no matter what you have equipped. And 2 hand weapons deal way more damage.

For Balance and Resto you want an int staff or a one hand and off hand. As long as it has intellect and spellcasting stats.

@Mellowfellow: Agility and Stamina for Cats and Strength and Stamina for Bears. Yes, 2-handed weapons are pretty much where it's at. Really, you're looking for highest primary stats (like the ones I listed). Doesn't matter what the weapon is since you don't use it at all as Feral. You just need the stats from it....that's why you carry it at all.

@Draladin: You are mistaken good sir. Strength does nothing for bears or cats. As a feral druid you want to find a 2 handed weapon with as much damage on it as possible. As Karryn stated our base speed is class specific and not weapon based. You also want to stack agility, agility, and more agility. Agility helps us in bear with dodge, and crit. As a druid you want to avoid strength in all specs. Hopefully this helps some. Just remember two-handed high damage not DPS and lots of agility

@Kwakmooken: Lol. Then you don't know anything about them. Almost every top-rated RBG team will have a Balance druid and the DPS in raids is fine if you know how to manage Nature's Grace and your DoT's. Balance is easily of the the best specs in the game. Do not listen to random haters that've probably never played one.

@Aeegolas: Yup, Lunar Eclipse increases damage done with moonfire, starfall, and starfire.
Solar eclipse increases damage done with sunfire (moonfire turns into this), wrath, insect swarm, detonate mushrooms, and hurricane.

Resto and Feral are full of win. Shammy was my main for a few years until I got bored one day and made a Druid. Won't play any other class long term now. Pvp heals are so fun, especially when no class can hardly ever kill us. In any PVP match it usually takes 5-6 to kill the Drooooooood and sometimes more if CD's are popped....

I can sincerely state that a druid vs a blood DK such as myself is a pretty fun fight. Both can heal and both can deal some good damage. They are op in a way such as the being able to turn into a cheetah to get out of a movement imparing effect and then the switch back to normal to get back to full health but a few Death Strikes and a undead minion could even out that fight. Druids are probably the most fun class to compete against (Aside from facing another DK in my opinion.)

I don't like that the new mists of pandaria thing is making it so that you have to chose between cat and bear form it seems like they are trying to make Druids a slightly weaker class.
