Hunter

From an early age the call of the wild draws some adventurers from the comfort of their homes into the unforgiving primal world outside. Those who endure become hunters. Masters of their environment, they are able to slip like ghosts through the trees and lay traps in the paths of their enemies.

These expert marksmen drop foes dead in their tracks with flawless shots from a bow or rifle. With the ability to wield two weapons simultaneously, hunters can unleash a flurry of blows against anyone unfortunate enough to stumble into close combat with them.

The art of survival is central to the isolated life of a hunter. Hunters track beasts with ease and enhance their own abilities by attuning themselves to the feral aspects of various creatures. Hunters are known for the lifelong bonds they form with animals of the wild, training great hawks, cats, bears, and many other beasts to fight alongside them.

Hunter Information

Hunters battle their foes at a distance, commanding their pets to attack while they nock their arrows and fire their guns. Though their missile weapons are extremely effective, hunters are at a disadvantage when their foes close in, and often attempt to evade or restrain enemies so that they can continue fighting from a safe distance.

Hunter Talents

Hunter talents primarily strengthen their pets; improve the damage, effectiveness, and duration of their traps; and increase the speed and power of their ranged attacks.

Hunters tame the beasts of the wild, and those beasts serve in return by assaulting their enemies and shielding them from harm.

Ranged damage

Whether wielding bows, guns, or crossbows, hunters are deadly with ranged weapons. They are capable of dishing out consistently high damage.

Traps

Hunters are consummate survivalists, able to set traps to burn, freeze, and disable potential prey.

Soloing

Thanks to their pets and damage output, hunters are effective at completing quests and leveling quickly, even when they’re alone.

In my opintion a good hunter cc really well, rather then blowing every cooldown and having your pets destroy the person. Why did they make traps dr with scatter shot? Don't make sense to me and I put a comment here a few weeks ago QQing about bm hunters and I have come to think its more stampede than a spec problem...

@Adahorn: the best race to play as a hunter is either a night elf or a dwarf and a orc and list of specs that are good for each race: night elf survival, dwarf either beastmaster or marksman and orc, a beastmaster :0 I hoped this helped you :)

@Deweycòx: not necessarily true at all dude. Every race is okay some more than others but at the end of the day race racial are just a marginal help in the class and spec. You forgot Goblin and worgen as well they have rocket jump and dark flight those are very useful in getting away from melee range. That being said you shouldn't really pick a race just to play a class pick a race that you like. As for survival if you're not gonna pvp don't role in it.

Everyone's saying hunters are noobs in this and that. Well the truth is most are but a few(like me) aren't. They really made playing hunters a sinch ever since patch 5.2. Over 80% of all hunters now role Bm and with spirit beast its a really generic combination and I understand why it's because it's really easy to play and quite overpowered. They've also taken out the minimum range on hunters and I am really against this because it let's new inexperienced players play well. Kiting is an essential factor for hunters and most hunters don't know how to kite so they complain about the minimum blind spot that's really bull. If you want to avoid the blind spot kite and don't backpeadle that's how you avoid it If I can do it so can the rest of you. If I can do really well with MM so can the rest of you.

@Djsne: After this speech, I just want to get on my alt. Very moving indeed. Back pedaling is really deadly if you can do it right, which in a while since I've played a hunter can't do it worth crap. Greatest way to piss someone off in pvping, I have to say.

@Djsne: I prefer to backpedaling when I want to trap my opponent. That's the only use I find I backpedaling. After that, I just strafe around them.

I think hunters are the easiest class to play in pve, we have out pet and even if he dies we can always freeze out target,feign death,mount up and get out or just feign death, it saved my life so many times and... camouflage.

@Bruthor: They used to take some skill to master back in cata(you needed to incorporate macros to time shots and traps and needed to kite and cc alot) now with so many complaints about this and that they've been ridiculously buffed and now take no skill to play(Now it's all just burst). This is the case for BM hunters. MM on the other hand they're powerful and all but not near op which is why I roll one.

@Djsne: Damn right. Because you have a pet for Crying out loud! All you have to do is heal pet and shoot at the target! Warriors actually get close and hit the enemy hard!

@Mengersh: I guess I should talk to you in this toon to be more reliable. Tanking is nothing hard it's actually easier than playing arms in pvp btw not to say arms is hard to play either. Just because I have to go close to the target to attack them doesn't mean that the class is hard to use you know. Take hunters for example they're very easy to play but do take some skill to master because if you don't kite and cc you'll get downed pretty easily since they're pretty squishy. Because I need to go close I have more armor and can take more hits therefore you're statement about warriors being hard and hunters being easy is invalid.

@Mengersh: Oh and another thing if you are a good warrior you would know to not role fury there's no point in that spec it's dps is lacking compared to arms.

@Djsne: Well, this was my first class, thank you very much. I adapted and used what works for me. It's all about the play style. Me, do damage fast and move on. Prot for free melee hits, Fury for fast burst with 2 two-handers(which hurts like hell when hit by a fury warrior). That's my style.

Hunters and all other classes that are ranged classes are great !. Why be up front taking the damage when u don't need too ?. also Hunters are nothing else than a Ranger by anther name !. Each class has it's pros and cons : the best class is the one you enjoy the most !. I also think the professhions & skills help make the character as well !. Also when u create your character pay attention to their looks ; if u hate how your character looks u won't have as much fun. We are all visionel in nature : that's why u can remember faces over names!.
