For rogues, the only code is the contract, and their honor is purchased in gold. Free from the constraints of a conscience, these mercenaries rely on brutal and efficient tactics. Lethal assassins and masters of stealth, they will approach their marks from behind, piercing a vital organ and vanishing into the shadows before the victim hits the ground.

Rogues can dip their weapons in paralyzing toxins that render foes unable to defend themselves. These silent stalkers wear leather armor so they can move unencumbered, ensuring that they land the first strike.

With the rogue’s poisons and speed, the first strike is often the last step before the killing blow.

Rogue Information

Rogues often initiate combat with a surprise attack from the shadows, leading with vicious melee strikes. When in protracted battles, they utilize a successive combination of carefully chosen attacks to soften the enemy up for a killing blow. Rogues must take special care when selecting targets so that their combo attacks are not wasted, and they must be conscious of when to hide or flee if a battle turns against them.

  • Type Melee Damage Dealer
  • Standard Bars Health, Energy
  • Available Armor Cloth, Leather
  • Available Weapons Bows, Crossbows, Daggers, Fist Weapons, One-Handed Axes, One-Handed Maces, One-Handed Swords
Rogue Talents

Rogue talents can strengthen their ability to hide in shadows, kill foes with quick, deadly strikes, and survive in extended slugfests.

Rogue Features
Stealth

Rogues sneak about the battlefield, hiding from enemies and delivering surprise attacks to the unwary when opportunity arises.

Melee damage

By coating their dual-wielded blades with deadly poisons, rogues can deliver catastrophic damage to their targets.

Evasion

When endangered, rogues have many tools at their disposal to avoid their enemies’ gaze and, if necessary, their attacks.

Combos

By planning and combining successive melee attacks, rogues can build up combo points that allow them to deliver devastating finishing blows in combat.

Rogues have been a major thorn in my side in PvP... and by "thorn in my side" I mean, stop hiding and fight me like a man.

@Aestarus: stop porting away then

@Aestarus and Toklo: "stop hiding and fight me like a man." hmmmmm. then why don't both of you stop using your pets and fight one on one???? You guys should read the little class summaries above. FOR ALL CLASSES!!

and heres another thing, looms are cool but theyre kinda gettin annoying. People in bgs or dungeons think theyre so cool cause they have full looms while newer players are stuck with what they have. I dont know how many times ive heard "go get more looms baddy"

@Ghaks: I'd recommend Human for Ally, or Undead for Horde. Probably changing myself, but Humans and Forsaken both have racial "trinkets" that free you from fears, I forget everything. It's a tad more limited than your PvP trinket, but useful nonetheless.

I got sick and tired of not producing the damage I wanted in bgs...just couldn't kill toons fast enough. So I decided to play around with my talent tree a little and discovered a combo that IS getting the job done. Going against all the recommendations by the "experts" , I pointed into the combat spec over assasin for my subtlety rogue. Check out my talent tree and experiment for yourself. Any feedback would be appreciated. I realize I'm giving up some bonuses to speed and healing but my damage is way way up. :)
