I have to say I've been playing wow for 6 years now and seen the game change a lot over those years. Am I disappointed? Not at all. I'm old enough to know things change everyday. As our world changes so must we with it or be forgotten. Now have I agreed with all the changes? Not always but Blizzard knows what its doing and their success shows.

Blizzard is making changes based on how it feels will best balance the game(pvp mostly). Will the adaptions change gameplay? Sure, but that's how life works. Things change, the sooner you realize that, the better life and this game will be for you. We will never go back to the way vanilla or BC used to be, because those models are no longer viable. People no longer have the time to spend hours on attunements or all day trying to get a group for a dungeon in trade chat. WoW became an "end-game" model a long time ago and by doing that questing is only a means to an end, not what the game is based around. So yes it will get easier.

Wow will continue to change as needed so it is still viable to its players. Remember they aren't looking at the few or the elite, they are looking for the majority wow player, how do they play and why. If suddenly all of wow became elite than the game would become immensely more difficult, but doing so now would cut out a vast majority of today's player base.

But hey I'm just a panda what do I know, right?

@Averidea: Well said. Unfortunately, when people detail the reasons why they don't like the current model, they usually only have the past models to refer to. So usually they are lodging a complaint with a reference to what they did like without also adding a possible future solution to the current problem. For me, my discontent does not rely upon treading backward to fix the issues but rather moving forward and making different decisions to make the game interesting with the current model. PvP and PvE do not need to cross paths. If a person chooses to not engage in or gear for PvP and reside on a PvE realm and then they are told that they must engage in PvP in order to work toward end-game PvE content, I find this disconcerting. And cross-realm is horrible. Personally, I would prefer a server merge where a community is created rather than running across random people from other servers while taxing my system and connection. I used to live near Boston. I never had any issues with getting connections that I wanted. When I moved to the middle of the country, much to my chagrin I learned that shockingly, there are people who do not have access to cable internet! Some homes don't even receive old school dsl. Then there is the fact that there are different income brackets across the country as well. Not everyone can afford the best of the best when they wish to buy new computers. Sometimes, there are other priorities. I traveled across this country for over a year and realized as I never had before just how many people don't have access to some of the things I took for granted such as high speed internet with competitive marketplaces for optional purchase capability and job availability for a decent income. Whew! I guess that is the long way of saying that cross-realm isn't for everyone and other options for those people would be nice.

And I still fail to see how camping a rare should allow a person to gain faction reputation bonuses. Let's take a look at that. Drop the toon in spot, sit and not play the game, watch television, and then BOOM! August Celestials reputation drop. Hmm... It just doesn't sit with me. The problem is that so many people complained about daily grinding for rep that Blizz dropped a rep bomb for people so that they didn't have to grind it. At least if it doesn't make sense and tie-in, make it so that there has to be at least ONE alt that has already received the rep before allowing rep drops like that. LOL And yes, that was a personal pet peeve because I watched a friend who left the game for a couple months or so because they weren't happy with how WoW was going, come back and catch up to all of my maxed reps inside of a week or so that I grinded daily for weeks on end to get. Heh... so now I'm not playing. It's been close to 3 months since I have actively played any toon so I figure it should take me what... 3 weeks to catch up at this point? :P

@Averidea: Good points. It appears they're developing content for everyone. They have options ranging from simply entertaining idle/casual players all the way up to challenges for some of the most skilled and dedicated players in the world.

The traditional MMO market may be dying out in favor of F2P, but WoW is certainly better than it was when I first started playing.

@Vyxyn: Agreed that cross realm zones are horrid, especially when your a low pop sever getting mashed in with KT just for one example. Imo they should have went with server mergers instead of caving in to dev nostalgia for the good old days and coming up with this current abomination.

the true story of it all wow has lost its originality or uniqueness of a char..everyone looks the same every build is the same, its become there is only one way to skin a cat. excuses to bring in more genre to play this game has dummied the game down to simplicity. and after 8 years i feel blizz doesnt care, theyve made tons of money. off the world, and alot of thought doesnt go into much . this is the only game i know that has stood time but you still have to pay. im not dissing blizz. but the old ways were better, more uniqueness , originality ..yeas yeah everyone hates a grind but the sense of accomplishment isnt there anymore

very well said Trueknight. i have heard it for a while now and its just a repeat of tha same words over and over. ( i liked it back when it was harder to lvl and harder to actually accomplish things. for instance this is a simple matter but obviously very big to alot of people, but alot have been sayin ( i miss when hunters had to actually carry ammo ) i have heard sooooo many people say that and even tho its a simple matter of fact it bothers alot of people. so i think u had a really good point on everything

@Shinebright: NO. I loved the old trees. They were an integral part of the game instead of just a side thought like they are now. So what if there were talents that everyone took? You were still faced with choices, while you were levelling, of "ooh, which one do I like the most right now?"

@Shinebright: the old one was horrific. Everyone had the same talents and if you tried another you didn't compare to the rest. Now we have choices, I often find myself switching talents for the best situation. All people did before was go to noxxic and copy what they had. Most of the people on my real didn't even know what their talents were.

I agree with trueknight and vyxyn cross realm suck tring to do stuff a pain like pet battle getting gank that sucks and I do understand been on a pvp realm you will have to defend your self and I love to raid and lots of guilds don't take there guildies raiding it always officer and alts and I am paying for a game that I am not enjoying I took a yr off then everyone said the game got better it hasent still in a rut and still want to raid sick of guilds promise stuff and not delivering I want to learn new content and I ask to go people say no learn the fight youtube only takes you far but it hands on and another thing blizz need to do is get ride of world pvp I don't pvp and it does suck gear changes so fast you get it then it crap after patches and when a new content drops and then people say who wants to rid after we get to level 100 or what ever blizz decide to raise it to. sorry don't mean to vent I feel all you guys I want to learn and have fun it only a game

@Saintchrise: without cross realm things would just be terrible right now, and you know it. you may not care about this fact because your an ally on KT but imagine if you were on a server like AeriePeak as a horde. or Tichondrius as an Alliance. you would barely EVER see anyone at all outside org or any zone for that matter. cross realm gives players more socializing especially if they are on a very low pop server for they're faction or just in general

Garrosh orders Lady Sylvanas to use the plague on Stormwind and Sin'jin Village because of the rebellion and the supplies being sent from Stormwind. Lady Sylvanas's technicians added some thing that one of their agents had gotten from the Vir'aani to the plague, thinking it would slow down the putrefaction of the new undead; but it changed the plague in a way no one could have expected. Players that have hit level 60 and have flying mounts can opt. to be part of an random reroll that will change their toon into one of the following, but toons higher then level 60 will also drop back down to level 60. 1. Undead, which would make the toon Horde ; no choice. 2. Draenei, which would make the toon Alliance; no choice. 3Wargen, this race now has to choose to be Alliance or Horde; but if they choose Horde they should take great care while in UC. 4 Goblin, this race now has to choose Hord or Alliance; but if they choose Alliance all Bilgewater operatives will attack them on sight. 5 Vir'aari, this race must choose Horde or Alliance. 6 Skithian, this race must choose Horde or Alliance. Introduce a new class. Witchdoctor, this class has a humanoid pet that you must choose a class for; ie warrior ranged like hunter or a caster type, but you must arm and armor them at your own expense. In Area 52 Papa Wheelers rocket has crashed on a new planet that had been shielded much like the Eco-Domes. This Planet not far from Out Land has long ago been taken over by the Vir'aari, that feel all other life to be beneath them and suitable only as play things. This very world had once been the home world of the Skithian that still roam the wilds of this world. Nexus-Prince Haramad and the Consortium have been exiled from this world by the Vir'aani, and there is a civil war on going with the Consortium and The leaders of The Vir'aani. The leaders of the Vir'aani can fully understand what War Leader Garrosh is going through, even if he is only a hairless ape; and offer him help; lol of sorts. The Pandarens have heard that there are offspring of the world turtle being kept in an eco-vault on this new world and seek to rescue one in hopes of saving their world. Let the fun begain lol.

I have to say that everyones criticism is valid because it is how you feel about the game. Problem is..WoW after nearly 10 years is still the best MMO out there. Yes we all have tried competing games but we all end up back to WoW eventually. Can WoW be improved..yes. And they do make a multitude of changes. I do agree with Vyxyn, i HATE pvp and WoW makes us PvP to get our Legendary? WTH? By choice i have not persued that path. Will it hurt me later to not get that 600 ilv legendary cape? Yep it will but as we all know... gear comes and goes, that cape will be godly for 6 months or until an expansion comes out, and it will be replaced. So i can live without my 600 ilvl cape that i have played WoW for since its original 3 day beta stress test. Overall Bliz makes good decisions but on the PvP they did slap me and the rest of the PvE population in the face. But until a game comes along to replace WoW, Bliz can do what it wants.

@Trueknight: Sadly, I have to agree. While I have kept my 2 subscriptions open, I haven't played the game in about 3 months. At best, I have logged on just to check in on things. I have grown BORED and FRUSTRATED with the game. A game I love, which makes me sad. When I watch people camp rares and get experience bonuses for factions that I worked to cap, that infuriates me. When I am made to pvp for the Legendary end game content, that frustrates me. When the majority of my guild leaves the server because the population is dropping and this drops the population even more, I just shake my head sadly. It is nearly impossible to raid. I've had to pug out and then STILL not have the raid go forward because of guilds not finding enough people. Besides, I hate pugging out. I want to raid with the same group of people weekly where we have to work through the content, figure out how to surmount our obstacles, and then bask in the glory of our triumph when we finally accomplish our goal. And then move forward to the next goal. I'm tired of having to level new toons on new servers in order to raid. My old guildies keep asking me to come over and raid with them on the other server but I have to ask myself, why should I bother? So that I can do so yet again to have yet another server population fall off? Bah! I want to play WoW and I complained for months about the changes until I finally had enough of hearing myself complain and just stopped playing. It won't be long before I just delete and cancel everything at this rate. But I am hopeful. I check up on the game hoping to read something that will make me want to play again but alas, I find more and more posts such as yours that just detail the same reasons why I'm not playing in the first place.

I have to agree with you about leveling. It was a feat to level at one point. Blizz has made it to easy to do such. In the efforts to entertain and help people reach cap level, they have hurt the game. Many do such and then become bored if not raiding or pvping in context. It creates some poor players that do not or have not mastered their class
(I would be more understanding if the RUSH-GRIND bonus was for alts of an account). It was VERY HARD to level back in the day. I remember when getting the Pally Mount was a special deal; Although it took time, the reward was more lasting in satisfaction. Many are leaving the game due to the lack of "enduring creativity". That was the key aspect years ago that made people join and stay in the game. In the efforts to "make money"...Blizz has and will continue to lose money for this game. I have been playing for years but have seen this coming and have spoken to "hundreds" of people who play the game. Very few... very few are happy. What makes matters worse is the problem of the low population servers. People are leaving the game "instead" of transferring to another server. Blizz has not done anything to really address this. The cross realm ideology was good... but in the long run it hurt rather then helped servers of low population. I think they have to go back to the old roots of the ideology of the game that made people really come to such. There has simply been more blunders than achievements in game "enduring creativity" that will only result in a slow(yes, constant) decline in people staying with the game. If I would to give them any advice it would be to really look at the marketing spikes of patches and expansions when they come out VERSE the "enduring" activity after a month or so. I would bet anything that such a graph would show a decline after a very short time. MAKE it HARD to level BUT interesting...Give a BONUS to people that are hard core raiders that opt NOT to do raidfinder(raidfinder was a very good idea to let people experience content of game), Make a story line JUST FOR the people who PVP similar to a PVE raid(I am shocked after all these years such has not been done), DO something more meaningful with the "fail bags"(remember, people put in countless hours in the game-make something like what has been done with the artifacts), Make the real bonus on gear or specialty items for those WHO DO NOT use multiple bonus advantages in leveling(make the experience interesting with the expectation of a reward at the end-such will bring new excitement and let players explore with anticipation when leveling other toons), Make a PVP listing que where people can actually decide who and what class to go into a RBG(this is for people who cannot get into a RBG on their server)-If it is done for raid finder then why not RBG finder with the same ideologies of raid finder yet make it similar to the challenge modes in terms of gear yet limit the rewards for such in respect of those who can create such on their own, MERG low pop servers... now! There is no reason in any form to have such at this point unless it is by choice-simple if BLIZZ really cares they will allow guild transfers at no cost to other realms(at least free one time). Could I go on .. yes...but I think I will get ripped apart if I continue. I have been playing the game for many years and the same complaints for many years have yet to be addressed by Blizz. Yes, I am still playing the game. I have met and made friendships with people around the globe. However, the weights of such are becoming ever more pondering if I should put more time into the game...or maybe I am simply getting old(smile).

@Trueknight: Well there is a simple solution. Slow down and don't lvl so quickly. I have ten toons, I've maxed two. I've started slowing down and just enjoying the adventure and doing the new quests since Cataclysm. Group play has gone so far down hill that I really deplore it. It's just a game people. It's not life or death. It's not worth your silly words of "insult" or getting all bent out of shape. I've actually considered giving it up. I've been playing for five years and I've built some lovely friendships over them. I love the graphics, the story and the PvE challenges but max lvl "duties" (dailies and what have you) have become BORING and REPETITIVE. Feels like a waste of time to me. Daylights' a burning!

@Kapowthica: Good Point - I have a couple of non-90's and yah leveling up doesn't have to be speed deal. If you really want to get to 90 you can pretty quick but if you want to explore the game and do things associated to the level you are while leveling - that would probable suit you best. Plus you don't have to have 40 people to complete a lot of things which can be hard if you don't know 40 other people. Also I find it that the long grind of the old days that people keep stating was rewarding (it took a long time to get certain mounts, levels, etc) is out-dated. I mean I really would not want to spend all that time to get those certain things over and over...I prolly would only have 1 or 2 toons if it was like that now. As far as players being dumbed down or the game is not producing good players anymore....That does not make sense to me....as the game can not produce good players - you have to master the game itself no matter what changes the system makes to it. If people are not mastering it then that's something they need to work on. If they don't then those are the people you beat on or win against. This game isn't easy - it may feel easy to players who have played for years because they have way more experience. Someone who just started should not be able to grasp the game play that quick. They will only be pressing buttons and any experienced player will know realize that. The game has changed - I think most original gamers of wow have just lost whatever fire you once had...it happens, if you play a game long enough you will get burnt out. Take a break like 3 weeks or a year then come back hehe
