Horde

Unlike the other races of the Horde, orcs are not native to Azeroth. Initially, they lived as shamanic clans on the lush world of Draenor. They abandoned their peaceful culture when Kil’jaeden, a demon lord of the Burning Legion, corrupted the orcs and used them in his vengeful plot against the draenei, who were exiles from Kil’jaeden’s homeworld.

Because of the demons’ manipulation, most of the orc chieftains drank the blood of a Burning Legion pit lord, Mannoroth the Destructor. This act infused the orcs with power, but at a great price: they were now enslaved to the Legion. Constant exposure to fel energies turned the orcs’ naturally brown skin to a sickly green, and the orcs’ usage of fel magic caused their ancestral lands to wither and die.

As Kil’jaeden had planned, the orcs succeeded in killing most of the draenei population. Now Kil’jaeden was ready to test the orcs’ effectiveness against another old enemy. Thousands of years before, the demons had launched an invasion of Azeroth that had ultimately failed, but this time the orcs could fight in the Legion’s stead. To that end, the corrupted human archmage Medivh contacted the orc warlock Gul’dan. Together they constructed the Dark Portal, which allowed the orcs to travel to Azeroth.

After their arrival, the orcs crushed the unsuspecting human kingdom of Stormwind. The mighty orc armies, known as the Horde, then pressed north through the Eastern Kingdoms, and their victory was nearly assured for a time. Eventually, however, internal conflicts resulted in the orcs’ defeat, and those who did not die in battle were rounded up and placed in internment camps. But a young slave named Thrall managed to escape from captivity and join a liberation force consisting of Warchief Orgrim Doomhammer and other free orcs. When Doomhammer fell in combat, Thrall became the new warchief of the Horde and the inheritor of Doomhammer’s namesake weapon.

Thrall and his people later journeyed across the sea to the distant continent of Kalimdor. Within the forests of Ashenvale, the warchief and his mentor, Grommash Hellscream, confronted Mannoroth. In the end, Grom gave his life to kill the pit lord and remove the blood-curse from the orcs forever. A new chapter began for the orcs: war was no longer the driving focus of their culture, and they settled the land along Kalimdor’s eastern coastline, which Thrall named Durotar.

Years later, the warchief and many others returned to the remnants of Draenor, now known as Outland, to prevent another attack from the Burning Legion. There Thrall met Garrosh, son of Grom Hellscream, and convinced him to join the Horde and return to Azeroth as an advisor. Garrosh was a leading commander during the battles against the Lich King in Northrend, and also gained popularity for his fiery personality.

In addition to his commitments as leader of the Horde, Thrall was a dedicated shaman with close ties to the elements. When he noticed severe disturbances in the elemental spirits, Thrall knew that he had to step down as warchief in order to investigate the situation lest all of Azeroth fall into chaos. Given his options, Thrall believed that Garrosh was the clear choice for warchief. But the impulsive young Hellscream is much more aggressive than his diplomatic predecessor. With the equally tempestuous King Varian Wrynn back on the throne of Stormwind, it seems likely that the orcs will need their famed strength now more than ever.

Start Location:Durotar
The dry, harsh land of Durotar is home to some of the toughest creatures on Azeroth. Unwary travelers may fall prey to venomous scorpids, ferocious crocolisks, or angry quilboar. Thrall chose to settle this inhospitable area after the Third War as penance for the orcs’ past transgressions. He named the land after his father, Durotan, former chieftain of the Frostwolf clan. Following the Cataclysm, many of the orcish settlements were flooded or destroyed, and the Northwatch soldiers at Tiragarde Keep have become more aggressive than ever. As relations worsen between the Alliance and the Horde, it is essential that the orcs contain these threats swiftly to ensure the survival of their people.
Home City:Orgrimmar
Named for the former Horde warchief Orgrim Doomhammer, this capital was rapidly constructed when the orcs first settled in Durotar. Garrosh Hellscream has recently rebuilt most of the city’s architecture, and now Orgrimmar’s fortresses rank among the most imposing on Azeroth. Spiked metal towers line the city’s streets, and the red-and-black banners of the Horde wave from every post. Most of the various races have separated into their own districts, from the tauren in the Valley of Wisdom to the trolls in the Valley of Spirits. Grommash Hold towers over all else, allowing Garrosh Hellscream to keep a close watch on his people.
Racial Mount:Wolf
Long ago, the orcs tamed the large and swift wolves of Draenor. These massive canines came to be the orcs’ chosen companions as well as their favored method of transportation. The wolves’ unflinching temperament made them especially well-suited for battling large prey. When the orcs became more warlike and invaded Azeroth, their wolves were bred for size and stamina so they could bear armored riders into battle. Dire wolves remain the favored mounts for orc fighters and can be purchased in the Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar.
Leader:Garrosh Hellscream Warchief of the Horde
Garrosh grew up on Draenor in the shadow of his father, the great warrior Grommash Hellscream. Chieftain of the Warsong clan, Grom was the first orc leader to drink the blood of Mannoroth, subjugating the orcs to the Legion’s will. Before this event, Garrosh was among several orcs who had become ill with the red pox. They had been quarantined far away in Nagrand, allowing them to escape the demonic corruption. The younger Hellscream was ashamed of his father for many years until he met Thrall and learned of Grom’s heroic redemption. Garrosh has since embraced his potential as a strong leader, most notably in Northrend, where he directed the Horde advance through the Borean Tundra and won the hearts of his people. Uncompromising and fiercely proud, Hellscream intends to restore the orcs’ glory by any means necessary.

When are you guys ever going to get rid of your curse? I hate calling you guys green skins.
Login to rate
@Mengersh: The green skin is there permantly they are stuck with the green skin its result of the fel taint they once had. The blood curse is gone hence why they are no longer ripping you in half and thier eyes dont look like brands.

The Horde has no honor! in one battleground they spawn camped us. seriously you need to stop doing that
Login to rate
@Heoph: It's a game and it's something called a battleground. They call it a battleground for a reason and that reason is to kill each other yes they're going to be times when one side camps and attacks people. However that is no excuse to not fight back. When you get the high edge camp them as well. You make the Alliance look bad stop complaining and get back to the front lines and fight.
Login to rate
@Djsne: I DO fight back, but it is virtually impossible to kill one person when no one on our team does their jobs, sheesh get of my back
Login to rate
@Heoph: Here's the thing stop complaining about stuff because they [the horde] are not going to listen to you in fact they're gonna camp you more to piss you off so either eat it up or do something about it. you're the weak side of Alliance and the many people you bgd with are probably as bad as you are. If you can't bg well simply avoid it don't complain about it like a little girl.

@Heoph: We got enough bad people in bgs already always nagging about this and that some even go to the point where they complain about gear lvl and why they always get killed easily. Idk why they would have that logic it's quite simple actually "get better gear so you have more survability" but that's how certain people think You're beginning to sound like one of them it's ruining the fun of pvp.

You guys might as well drink demon blood and become Chaos Orcs again if you're going to follow Garrosh because this is exactly the opposite of what Thrall is doing. You really should do it because that'll make you all that much stronger.

@Djsne: First off, Garrosh or Thrall, the orcs will never fall to demonic corruption again! Grom himeself bravely sacrificed himself to free us all! Second, Garrosh's actions, though not tied to demons, is corrupt and i will personally make sure my blade will be one of the many to make him pay for his treason and see thrall back as our wise and strong warcheif again. Finally, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, Night Elves are THE LAST ones to call an ENTIRE race demonicly corruptted based off of the actions of ONE of that race. You forget Azshara, though a member of the Highborne, was still a Night Elf when she made a pact with Sargeras. Acknowledge it or not, BOTH are races were corrutped long ago but BOTH of our races rebelled against it! Call us what you will, but we will never be consumed by demons again! WE ORCS ARE FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Kormmash: The difference is that night elves are the rebels of the queen, ie, the elves you see in Daranssus were never serve the Legion, fight against the burning legion and Azshara, and we won.

@Serendia: She was still your kin, and you rebelled against her to ensure a future without the influence of demons in your world, just as the great Orgrim Doomhammer did when he killed Gul'dan. Today, Orgrim's legacy is what you will see in Orgrimmar just as we would see Malfurion Stormrage's legacy in Daranssus. BOTH are races have rebelled against the demons and we BOTH still stand to keep it out of our cities.

@Kormmash: That is true. But really who took the mantle of leadership and refounded the society of night elves, was Tyrande. No Malfurion ...

The orcs and elves are similar in That aspect.

@Kormmash: Also it's worth mentioning that the night elves tried to selfishly reclaim their immortality and ended up creating a giant corrupted tree.

Garrosh is an extremist, corruptible, warmongering fool. His strength alone keeps him at his seat as warchief. He has almost dissolved the Horde single-handedly, and almost killed one of the greatest leaders to walk the surface of Azeroth. I await his death in silence, for I will honor my leader's loyalty to the Horde, but when he dies we and the trolls will reign triumphant, and all will be as it should. Under Garrosh, the Horde will either take over Azeroth or self destruct, neither of which is an acceptable outcome.

@Narle: We humans want Garrosh to step down too, but old hatreds are preventing us from allying with you. The first thing the horde must do is to withdraw from Ashenvail and we will withdraw from the Southern Barrens if Varian would think of it. Then again the Horde didn't know the night elves were in Ashenvail and the night elves attacked them. This is a pointless conflict over old hatreds going on now. Yes there will be more conflicts over resources, but this is all Garrosh's fault.

@Mengersh: most of the fighting began when cultists pretending to be horde slaughtered night elves garrosh is a good tactician but power clouds his mind. Either a warlock or a shaman should lead the horde as they did in the past.
Login to rate
@Grakma: True. Shamans should lead the horde, warlocks should not. Warlocks like gul'dan are the reason the orc's got enslaved by the demons in the first place (to no offense of any warlock.) The horde should be leaded by the right people who aren't corrupted by power so much. Yes even a shaman like Ner'zul was corrupted but Thrall wasen't. Yes being the leader of a faction or country can be stressful at times but one must remain vigilant and remain good for their peopel.
Login to rate
@Zode: Yes when being the leader of a group of people is tough and sometimes things turn into obsolete chaos and everyone's expecting. An answer from you, or hope you to do someting and you don't know what to do about it. rather then either lie or tell the truth. But Garrosh diden't do neither he would kill his own horde members for power. He would sacrifice his people for victory over the alliance and other foes. Thrall would never do that he would sacrifice himself to save his own people. Garrosh had a very tough life living without a mother noir father he barley even know before he died. But that's no reason to act the way he does because of that. I think vol'jin or caine's son should control the horde and lead them to victory. Enough of the innocents blood being shed by this war over resources or old lands.

Vol'jin, I see now what you are trying to do... and i support it. It will be tough, might even lead into civil war. but no matter what, I would gladly die for this, what your doing. He has to be stopped.... for the sake of the horde. you give me hope when all I know is vengeance..... thank you. I would gladly put a bullet in his head.... but that is for you to decide. I am with you Vol'jin, not even death its self could keep me from doing this.

Also, members of the Horde. I must ask you one thing and one thing only. Will you stand with me and defeat this evil that lies on the seat of the warchief? will you let him destroy not only the horde, but the alliance as well? do you even want this war? We must finish him, and restore the peace of Azeroth! Will you let him do this to the people of this world? Well I say no! We shall show him that this war must end! stand with me my brothers and sisters of the horde and stop this from getting worse! so please, see the injustice he has done and the cayuse he has led his people into! it is time to pick a side. The rage and blood of the alliance that means nothing,or the right thing to do for both the horde and alliance. pick, and chose your fate.........
