Skulls?

We used up all the skulls in D2. The mobs have adapted and now use a paper mache mesh to hold their brains in.

No more skulls.

The IAS jewels were useful in D2

the 40% enhanced damage and 15% increased attack speed were more then useful

40%ed and 15 max damage
15% all resistances and 15 ias

there were plenty of useful jewels

In my 5+ years of playing D2 I have never found a useful non-unique jewel. Their stats are almost always overpowered by a rune, gem, or runeword for a socketed item.

So I'm with Onetwo..not a big loss here.

Just because something was useless/underpowered in D2 does not mean it has to be in D3. Expand your horizons.

I definitely want to see Jewel's return. They are likely to change how they function in D3, but it is still a game system that I enjoyed and found fun and useful. I am confident we will see some form of them in an expansion. Just like Charms.

I see what you're saying, and my current thought is that I wouldn't mind seeing them return IF they allowed the possibility of finding jewels with 200% ED, 60%MF, +300 psn dmg, etc...

What I didn't like about the original D2 jewels is that the above attributes just weren't possible..
