Diablo® III

Hardcore Characters and Account Rollbacks Update

Lylirra I cannot express how happy I am after reading this post. I was sick and tired of the rollbacks in HC and the people bragging how they "faked getting hacked" to restore their characters. I personally expressed a lot of concern over this and was continually shut down from the proponents of these actions in the HC community. I'm glad to see it was heard from the team at Blizzard.

This is the best news I've heard since the game's release.

Looking forward to the patch.

All of the Hardcore characters that did get rolled back should be converted to Softcore, assuming that there is an empty character slot.

Update: Actually, just mark every rolled back Hardcore character with "Roll back" so that everyone can see that their characters were rolled back. But I imagine that some Hardcore characters might have still been alive when the roll back occurred ... I guess administratively this would be a nightmare for Blizzard to do.

Finally, patch release date. I'll be able to vanish dye some awful looking legendaries.

Not a real HC player, but I guess is good news if people were abusing the rollback system :)

I won't be playing tomorrow. I'm having plenty of fun in POE. Thanks for the heart of the swarm refund, dumped it all in to POE.

With the release of patch 1.0.7, we will no longer be reviving or undeleting Hardcore characters as part of an account rollback. This adjustment to our rollback service is being done for two reasons:

  • Hardcore characters were never intended to be revived or undeleted by an account rollback. Bringing Hardcore characters back to life via rollback really isn't in the spirit of Hardcore (where death is permanent, no matter the circumstances). When we originally adapted our rollback services for Diablo III, however, we didn't have the technology to make Hardcore characters exempt. We've wanted to bring our rollback policies regarding Hardcore characters in line with the game for a while, and as of patch 1.0.7 we will have the tools to do so.

  • In recent months, we've discovered that some players who’ve lost Hardcore characters through normal gameplay will fake an account compromise and request a rollback through Customer Support in order to get their characters revived. Not only is this an abuse of the services we provide to the community, but it also impacts other players who have submitted legitimate inquiries by increasing wait times across the board.

Patch 1.0.7 is currently scheduled to release tomorrow in all regions. For more information about our restoration and rollback policies for Diablo III, please view the following Support articles:

Question:

Whats abou "PvP will be implemented with 1.1" and "Duells are an extra, until we implement the real pvp system with 1.1"

Is the REAL PvP for 1.1 dead or will we get more later?

Hardcore characters were never intended to die to a DC or a game crash
I am pretty sure they were.

Never died once to DC in Path of Exile Hardcore. I'm not saying I don't DC, I do, and a lot in fact, but not once did I die. Instead of creating policies of not reviving anyone, they should go and check the program of GGG.
