Blizzard make Diablo 2 Auction House

General Discussion
D2jsp is killing d2 it's not the same...
We dont need an auction house... Instead how about a legitimate trading forum similar to jsp, but without the need for fools gold.
It could look similar to a trading block setup in a fantasy sports league - type in a few items you have for trade, type what you want for them or what you're looking for in general, & update it periodically as you make trades. Simple
what is D2jsp and why is it so bad?
I dont understand how jsp ruined d2 lol. for most people its the only way to even get started... you sell some junk that ppl can use and slowly build up to better stuff. b4 u know if u have a full char. in game trading is what tanked the d2 economy.... mass sales of dupes
One huge error IMO was Blizzard closed off any official trading forums on their website. Now it really is only left to fansites and d2jsp for people to trade items.
most of D2Jsp community use hacks and bots. they support IRL trading between games. It's something most games dont support and in fact is against the rules in almost all MMORPGs.
I have even heard of people being scammed on D2JSP.

Let's just be real here though, almost every single game out has cheaters. Cheating has evolved into its own industry. I hate cheaters.

It's sad that "njaguar" became rich off d2jsp after publicizing the hacks and exploits that have ultimately ruined this game because of Blizzard's inability to provide proper trading grounds or crack down on cheaters. Not to mention the amount of real-money transactions and scamming that went down at d2jsp over the years

An auction house would be great, even if its just for in-game currency. But that might be out of the scope for Diablo 2. I think it was a great feature for Diablo 3, but they went and scrapped it as well as killed off the Diablo trading and social kinda gameplay that we all loved about Diablo 1 & 2
jsp is the only reason d2 is still alive.. and if you got scammed thats your own fault.
here come the nerds complaining about a 15 year old game an ppl who cheat in it. lol its obvious blizz dnt care anymore any ppl who just play to kill time dnt either. the game died in 09 let it go nerds let d2 rest in peace. they dnt needa do nothin more to this game its time for blizz to move on an make d4 just cuz d3 was trash

Your prayers have been answered. www.reddit.com/r/slashdiablo

Exactly what you described. Private vanilla server with no ads, no bots, fair economy, no temp bans, no expired chars. Amazing!

The original Blizzard forums had trading forums that were very weak and hardly used. At the time it was a good idea, but blizzard didn't have the means to maintain it and build upon it, and that is how d2jsp flourished. I've tried a few times to trade goods here in the new forums, but this place really is dead. It's just a place for a few ancients to live in the past, a few more people asking Blizzard to change the game to suit their needs, even fewer people are here to troll, and the rest, who are the vast majority, are here for tech support.

Because d2jsp supports criminal activity and big portion of d2 LoD players are drug addicts and unemployed 2-bit careless losers--99% of the d2 player base is over there. This is inescapable and will always be because the majority of the western world are useless humanoids that serve no good purpose on our planet. And the Asians, well they want to be just like western world.

I apologize in advance for confusing any Americans who though that the USA was separate planet outside of the western world.
The best thing would be to set something up on Arreat Summit. Something as simple as a Facebook style group or Twitter account that is moderated by MVPs of this forum. Make a 35 word max post "iso ik chest and 128 def ik boots. HC us west ladder."
D2jsp isn't killing anything. It created a trade standard and allows users to gain currency for items. Back in the day if you wanted something you had to trade item for item, and often the values weren't the same, or you'd have to get rid of an item you didn't want to lose.

With the forum gold concept you can sell things you don't want versus a currency and then use it to buy items you want. It's much better than trade channel or in game trade spam.

In Blizzard's website the Arreat Summit, it even encourages players to create fan sites and trade sites to help the D2 economy. There's ZERO reason for an auction house, and all of the people who are poor will still be poor. The only real complain is botters mass selling goods on jsp and honestly, that's a botting issue not a JSP issue.

I don't think anyone ever knew about the hacks or whatever. Interesting read lol.
Forum gold as a currency for trading is a good idea, however, that gold should be gold that was collected in the game, then transfer to the forum. As for in game trading, jsp destroyed it (Gems are a great currency, too) and also prevented most players from actually learning how to play the game. JSP is pure garbage, just like to tools that support it. Contrary to popular belief, the world isn't full of good people, and a few bad ones. The way it really is, is the world is mostly full of pathetic representations of humanity. JSP is the Diablo hub for these scumbags.
