Thanks erorus, wondering where have you got this answer? I did search yesterday before post and the last time OP mentioned about this was "CN Region Network Migration" http://us.battle.net/forums/en/bnet/topic/20743735901

Thanks
So the entire CN WoW API has stopped working. Auction house, character profiles, everything. It has simply shut down, region-wide, for weeks. It was removed from the official documentation at https://dev.battle.net/io-docs . This has never happened before AFAIK.

There's no official reply in this API Discussion forum thread:
http://us.battle.net/forums/en/bnet/topic/20745736924

There's no official reply in this API Bug Report forum thread:
http://us.battle.net/forums/en/bnet/topic/20746384488

But the blues do exist, they have time to reply to this critical contemporaneous thread:
http://us.battle.net/forums/en/bnet/topic/20747655056

So when something huge mysteriously disappears and there's no official reply despite repeated requests, I can only assume it was intentional, and that they can't talk about it. So it's down and it's not coming back.

And if my assumption is incorrect? Great! I look forward to being corrected by a blue poster. Sometimes when you want to get a reply out of someone, you simply need to say something incorrect, and they will have the irresistible urge to set the record straight.

Totally true. They are ignoring on this topic on purpose.

The exact time of the shutdown happened around 11am PT which was like 2am in CST. It's not a maintaining day. So my guess is someone in blizzard US decided to shut down Chinese region API since I don't think anyone would be working on 2AM on this.

Or, it might because the Chinese government asked to shut it down but I didn't see any possible conflicts could let them ask so.

Also, more interestingly. I posted at Chinese battle net forum asking about this issue. A blue replied me stating "no knowledge on it" within 2 hours after I posted. But when I checked the post a few days later, the reply disappeared. I don't know why they would want to delete a reply basically saying nothing. Weird.

Another thing I want to mention is, in blizzard's API ToS, they said they have right to shut down an API without any prior notice. I can't imagine any companies friendly to developer would do this.

I mean, how hard it is to give a notice about shutting down APIs? There are hundreds possible ways of handling this and they chose the worst one. Even it is some kind of "internal issue", why not just simply tell us that they are aware of this situation and "working on" it??? I can't understand what is going on with them, and I dont feel the respect they should give to us developers.
I'm trying to get spell names for zhCN. I tried asking for zhCN from the TW site but got zhTW files instead.

Anyone know anything more?
We are less than a week from Legion. Is there any update on the CN cluster at all?
Can someone please explain what's going on here? Warcraft Logs (my site) is unable to process guild rosters or validate characters in China, and it is keeping them from ranking etc.

What is going on here?

1) The CN WoW APIs disappeared without any warning or official communication.
2) People in this thread (and others) speculated about what happened and hoped for an official response.
3) Blizzard has purposely avoided commenting on this issue for many months.
4) You are among many developers who are wondering what gives, especially since the CN APIs for other games continue to function.

Now you're all caught up :)
The lack of communication here is really unacceptable. No new guilds or players are able to rank on Warcraft Logs. I am getting bombarded with questions and requests by Chinese players who are unable to have their guild rosters imported/managed and are unable to have their logs ranked alongside EU/NA ones.

This is utterly infuriating.
still disappeared
all cn wow website is not worked with api
It's frustrating that CN region still can't access API at the time of writing, progression for CN PFU guilds have to add data manually in order to make the correct ranking, armory syncing is broken, WCL, raider.io, wowprogress, none of them function properly over a year.

So what's going on here? any progress on this issue?
There isn't much Blizzard can do about this. This is an issue with the regulations and the Chinese government. Do not ask if/when any progress will be made: it won't.
you know makes me laught you realize wow is a different game in china lol
