Concerns/Issues with Client Secret Requirement for Community APIs

Just create a proxy server and host it on a free site, such as heroku. You can secure it however you like (or not at all).

For example, I have one running on heroku, that is open to the public. You can access it at:

https://bnetapiproxy.herokuapp.com/ + Blizzard API URL

e.g.:

https://bnetapiproxy.herokuapp.com/https://us.api.blizzard.com/wow/realm/status?locale=en_US

My source code is available at:

https://github.com/dawg6/bnetapiproxy

Which you are free to reuse as well.

Heroku's free tier is 550 hours per month. Which means it runs out on the 22d day of each month.
