Dec 14 macOS 10.12.2 Available Hey all! This OS update from Apple includes some graphics driver fixes for Intel Macs, and additional performance improvements and bug fixes for Metal. This update can be applied through the App Store: 1. Launch the App Store from your dock, or by clicking the Apple menu and selecting App Store. 2. Select the Updates tab. 3. Click Update next to macOS 10.12.2 Update 10.12.2 Your Mac will begin installing the update, and will restart once the download has completed. Sep 21 ►►Unable to start Diablo 3 Launcher [Solution]◄◄ I have been seeing reports that players are having issues running Diablo III by clicking the game client's icon in the Diablo III folder, and after having experienced the same by testing on my installation, I have determined the cause and found a series of steps that will resolve this issue for you and allow you to once again use the Diablo III icon to launch your game as you did prior to this patch: 1) Navigate to the folder containing the Diablo 3 game executable and the Diablo 3 Launcher. 2) Delete the file Diablo III Launcher (move to trash via CMD-Delete/Backspace). 3) Run the Battle.net Desktop App. You should already have this as it is required to run Diablo 3 as of 2.0.1. If your BDA is set to automatically apply updates it will download a new fully functional Launcher app and place it where it belongs in your Diablo III directory. If your BDA is set to the Never automatically apply updates option, then you will need to manually click Update and the BDA will then perform the update operation. The issue should now be resolved regarding the Diablo 3 app failing to run the Launcher. It seems that the initial patching download from the CDN servers had a corrupt file (the launcher) which appears fixed as of today and deleting and redownloading it resolves this. Mar 8 Low FPS in Windowed (Fullscreen) Mode We're aware of an OS bug where running some games in Fullscreen (Windowed) mode an cause a severe drop in FPS in-game. We anticipate this is addressed in the next OSX build. In the meantime, there are two different workarounds that may help! 1. Running the game in Fullscreen Running the game in fullscreen should not have the FPS degradation above. This does limit some functionality, such as ease of tabbing out of game without redrawing your desktop and Applications. 2. Minimize all background windows using Flash (including Battle.net App) Flash applications drawn behind a Windowed (Fullscreen) application cause FPS loss. The Battle.net Desktop App uses Flash elements as well, so minimizing this on launch can help. 1. Open the Battle.net App > Settings. 2. On the General Tab, locate the When I launch a Game dropdown. 3. Select Close the Battle.net Window 4. Click Done to finalize your changes.Glaxigrav0 Mar 8
Apr 9, 2015 Patch Day, the B.net App, CASC and You :) Updated for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Patch 2.4.0 As of patch 2.4.0, Diablo 3 will not run at all on 10.8.5 or earlier. 10.9.5 or later is now required to play Diablo 3 (original and Reaper of Souls). All support prior to 10.9.5 has ended and operating systems older than this will not be addressed. Special Note for Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) Users As of Diablo III patch 2.0.1, if you are running 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), you will no longer be able to play Diablo 3. The minimum operating system is now 10.9.5. Snow Leopard is locked out of the game completely and you must update to at least 10.9.5 in order to play. 10.11.5 or later is recommended, though Mavericks (10.9.5) should also work without issue. 8 GB of RAM or more is strongly recommended for optimal gameplay. Also, as of patch 2.0.1, the Launcher will initiate a Tools patch which will download the new Battle.net Desktop Application if you have not already installed it yourself using the Battle.net Desktop App link in your Account Summary page. Once downloaded the Battle.net Desktop Application will then launch and will be the only way to start Diablo III and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. The CASC Filesystem Patch 2.2.0 brings with it a new filesystem called CASC (Content Addressable Storage Container) to replace the aging tech found in the MoPaQ (MPQ) filesystem. CASC enables Blizzard to perform much quicker updates (when warranted) and very importantly, eliminates the cache found in the MPQ system. The elimination of the cache means no file redundancy, faster asset loading, and generally superior performance to the current MPQ system. There are, however, slight changes to troubleshooting steps, which are outlined below with updated information. There is also one directory within the Diablo III folder that you do not want to touch, ever. That would be this directory: /Diablo III/Data/data Under no circumstances should you ever do anything with this folder except for the permissions reset outlined in the steps below. Failure to heed this warning will cause you to have to reinstall the game. CASC is not fault tolerant if you edit, remove, or lock any of the files in the /Data/data directory. This directory contains indexes for the Data.xxx files, and because each installation is unique, you cannot use files with the same name from anyone else's install to "fix" your install. If this directory is altered in any way by the user it will require reinstalling the game from scratch. Patch Day and Global Play On the day of a Diablo III patch, Global play is not available right away because each of the three regions, The Americas, Europe, and Asia each receive their respective client updates at different times. Generally it is The Americas first, then Europe, and finally Asia. If you are using a client (any language) designated as belonging to The Americas region, you will initially only be able to play in the same region, as Europe and Asia have not received their updates yet. This usually persists for approximately sixteen hours, at which point you'll usually be able to log into the Europe region. After approximately one day (twenty four hours), you should have full access to the Asia region as well. If you are using a client (any language) designated as belonging to the Europe region, once the patch is deployed to The Americas region, you will not be able to access Global Play for that region. You will be able to log into both the Europe and Asia regions until their respective patch update cycle begins (commonly referred to as patch day maintenance). If you are using a client (any language) designated as belonging to the Asia region, once the patch is deployed to The Americas, you will not be able to access Global Play for that region. You will be able to access the Europe region until its patch update cycle begins, and you will also be able to log into the Asia region until your patch update cycle also begins. Patch Day Update Looping and Global Play On patch day, under normal circumstances, for those logging into their own home region after the new patch is deployed for that region, gameplay usually starts without a problem. However, for those utilizing the Global Play option (accessing either of the two regions that is not your home region) things can become problematic. As noted above in each of the region examples, you can only access certain regions during the patch update cycle. If you start Diablo III after successfully updating to the new patch and attempt to access a region that has not yet received the update, your client may go into a "patch loop" where it says you need to download a new patch to play every time you log in. Your Battle.net Desktop Application will check for the update, but since you have already actually received the update, it will read "Game is up to date" and the Play button will light up as normal. In order to keep this from happening, you must log into only your home region during the course of the patch update cycle. Only when you see all three regions' service status pages indicate that the patch cycle is complete will you have full access to the Global Play feature. The same situation can occur if you have not yet received the patch update but the region you are attempting to access has already received the patch update. As with the previous example, you should avoid attempting to log into any region other than your own home region. __________________________________________ Battle.net Desktop Application Related Issues Note: Before attempting to use the following troubleshooting instructions, first run the Battle.net Desktop Application (if possible) and select the Diablo III icon and then click the Options pulldown menu directly beneath the Diablo III logo in the main window and select Scan and Repair option. Under no circumstances should you attempt to play the game before installation and/or patching is complete. If you do so, you will corrupt the files being installed. It is safe to click Play only after the progress bar has disappeared from the Battle.net App main window. Stuck at Initializing: If you are attempting to patch Diablo III, but your Battle.net Desktop Application gets stuck on the "Initializing..." phase, the following instructions should remedy the situation: Delete the following files/folders: /Users/Shared/Battle.net/Agent/Agent.db /Users/Shared/Blizzard/Battle.net /Users/Shared/Blizzard/Battle.net.temp (if present) /Diablo III/Diablo III.mfil (if present) Once done deleting those files, make sure all permissions are set properly in Diablo III's main folder by doing the following: 1) Get Info (in the Finder) on the Diablo III folder. 2) Click the padlock icon and enter your password to authenticate yourself. 3) For the Everyone group, set it to Read and Write. 4) Click the cogwheel icon and select Apply to enclosed items. Select OK to confirm your action. 5) Close the Get Info Window. 6) Repeat steps #1-5 on the /Users/Shared/Battle.net folder. Now run the Battle.net Desktop Application. The Battle.net Desktop Application will then begin again at "Initializing...", but should only stay there for a few moments while it determines which files are in place and which must be downloaded. Let the Battle.net Desktop Application fully update the game. Do not click Play until the Battle.net Desktop Application window shows the word “PLAY” in the big button at the bottom of the window and there is no progress bar on the screen at all, indicating that Diablo III has fully patched and/or rebuilt its cache. __________________________________________ Failed to Create/Download a Required File: If you see this message, you may have an issue with permissions or a problem with the Battle.net Tools. The solution to both problems is the same as the steps for solving the Stuck at "Initializing..." problem,. The full process is outlined as follows: Delete the following files/folders: /Users/Shared/Battle.net/Agent/Agent.db /Users/Shared/Blizzard/Battle.net /Users/Shared/Blizzard/Battle.net.temp (if present) /Diablo III/Diablo III.mfil (if present) Once done deleting those files, make sure all permissions are set properly in Diablo III's main folder by doing the following: 1) Get Info (in the Finder) on the Diablo III folder. 2) Click the padlock icon and enter your password to authenticate yourself. 3) For the Everyone group, set it to Read and Write. 4) Click the cogwheel icon and select Apply to enclosed items. Select OK to confirm your action. 5) Close the Get Info Window. 6) Repeat steps #1-5 on the /Users/Shared/Battle.net folder. Now run the Battle.net Desktop Application. The Battle.net Desktop Application should begin downloading properly at this point and you can proceed normally. Take careful note of the underlined part in the section that tells you which files and folders to delete. The /Diablo III/Update folder can be safely discarded and allowed to be rebuilt by the Battle.net Desktop Application. As with all other Battle.net Desktop Application related troubleshooting steps, do not click Play until the Battle.net Desktop Application window shows the word “PLAY” in the big button at the bottom of the window and there is no progress bar on the screen at all, indicating that Diablo III has fully patched in order to avoid file corruption. __________________________________________ Diablo III Crashes due to Corrupt Files If you are experiencing crashing when logging in or performing certain actions in the game and this can be repeated with fair certainty, you probably have one or more corrupt files. The following instructions will show you how to delete the potentially problematic files and allow the Battle.net Desktop Application to rebuild the game's indexes. Delete the following files/folders: /Users/Shared/Battle.net/Agent/Agent.db /Users/Shared/Blizzard/Battle.net /Users/Shared/Blizzard/Battle.net.temp (if present) /Diablo III/Diablo III.mfil (if present) /Diablo III/Data/config /Diablo III/Data/indices Once done deleting those files, make sure all permissions are set properly in Diablo III's main folder by doing the following: 1) Get Info (in the Finder) on the Diablo III folder. 2) Click the padlock icon and enter your password to authenticate yourself. 3) For the Everyone group, set it to Read and Write. 4) Click the cogwheel icon and select Apply to enclosed items. Select OK to confirm your action. 5) Close the Get Info Window. 6) Repeat steps #1-5 on the /Users/Shared/Battle.net folder. Now run the Battle.net Desktop Application. Let Diablo III rebuild its cache. It can take between 15-60 minutes depending on the computer and drive being used. Do not click Play until the Battle.net Desktop Application window shows the word “PLAY” in the big button at the bottom of the window and there is no progress bar on the screen at all, indicating that Diablo III has fully patched and/or rebuilt its cache. Error 3006 or 3007 when attempting to log into Diablo III Error 3006: This error occurs when the region you are attempting to log into is either undergoing emergency maintenance or has an as of yet unresolved issue. If you receive this error, please wait a few minutes before attempting to log in again in order to give the Blizzard IT team time to resolve the issue. Error 3007: This error occurs when your connection to the Battle.net servers is unstable. If you are continually receiving this error, you should follow the troubleshooting instructions in the Error 3007 Support Article: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/error-3007 Error 33: If you are getting this error when attempting to log in, the Battle.net system is still undergoing scheduled maintenance and is not available for play. Please wait a few minutes before attempting to log in again. If you are still unable to log in, you should check the Service Status forum to see if Battle.net has been brought back up or not. Oct 17, 2014 OS X 10.10 Yosemite - Stuttering Mouse Cursor Hail and well met, and happy new OS day! We're currently aware of an issue with the Confine Mouse Cursor option for all of our games which will result in a stuttering or jittery mouse on OS X 10.10 Yosemite. We are working closely with Apple to resolve the issue, and hope to have a solution soon. In the meantime, setting your Confine Mouse Cursor option to Off will resolve the issue. We understand that this will result in issues with some games where scrolling is necessary (Heroes/Starcraft II). Should you wish to leave Confine Mouse Cursor on, you may find that enabling VSync reduces (but will not eliminate) the amount of stuttering that you encounter. 11h Erratic drop-outs from my game (I'm putting this in the Mac Technical Support, because I'm currently using a Mac and don't have a Windows PC to test that side out. This problem started about 2 weeks ago for me, it was less intrusive at the time, but now it's becoming almost unplayable. Btw, I can perfectly play all my other multiplayer games just fine for hours and hours, but man is Diablo 3 throwing a fit.) This is becoming extremely frustrating over the past week, I keep getting random d/c from playing Diablo 3, as a single-player. This online-DRM, with no concerns in saving progress is mind boggling. I can't complete any Rifts or Bounties (I won't dare touch G-Rifts and risk losing my tokens) because I get these horrendous random interval disconnects every 3-5 minutes. Guess how long it takes me in each case to press the "Ok Let's Log you out of your Game" button. Type in my credentials, and create a new game. About 15 seconds or less, every single damn time. Not ONCE did it ever complain about me not having a Internet Connection... (1) I am NOT losing my internet connection, I have been monitoring my internet connection for the past hour. With over a dozen disconnects, in not a single time does my SpeedTest, Internet Browser, OBS software report any drops of internet connectivity. (2) This is clearly not a "Oh you lost your internet connection, let's wait before re-joining you". This is simply "You were Dropped" crap that has plagued the SC/War3 franchises for years. Where the game drops you for no inexplicable reason, and didn't log you out. Except it does in Diablo 3's case, but not once has Diablo 3 ever said... "You are not connected to the Internet" when trying to re-log (Within 10-15 seconds of being booted out of my SINGLE-PLAYER game) in after a dropout. I know what Diablo 3 does when your lagging, you can still move. But no environment destructibles respond, enemies disappear or just don't respond, and you can run to the edge of the map and see how the game renders the world. That is lag, this extremely frustrating drop-out with no saves on my current game progress is NOT. (3) I wouldn't care so much about the drop-outs if Diablo 3 just saved my progress. I always get 80-90% completing a Rift, or a Bounty. Then I lose all my progress due to some stupid drop-out. I know Diablo 3 is suffering from a dwindling player-base, but I can't even enjoy this game on SINGLE-PLAYER, playing BY MYSELF. Without your ONLINE-DRM booting me out because somewhere along the pipe-line (THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE MY INTERNET NOT DROPPING OUT) decides to throw a fit, confusing Diablo 3 into dropping my game and all my progress. 16h Battle.net.app creates "Blizzard" folder in ~ I was directed to post to the forums by "Laenowatar" in ticket US58643632. Since I play Diablo but not WoW, I figured I'd post here. From the ticket: The battle.net launcher (currently 1.6.0.8293) puts a "Blizzard" folder in my home directory. I want my home directory free of other applications' personal directories. Since the only thing in ~/Blizzard is Battle.net/Cache, I'd suggest putting that sort of thing in ~/Library/Caches/net.battle.launcher. If you need a folder for other purposes, I'd look into putting things in ~/Library/Application Support/Battle.net. At any rate, this behavior seems to be new in 1.6.0.8293. At most it was present in the version prior to that and I didn't notice. Thanks for helping me keep my home directory uncluttered. I'm on macOS 10.12.2 if that helps.adiabatic0 16h
23h crashes when I load into game I'm not sure how to post my specs from Mac... but after the update for the client and for diablo 3 reaper of souls my game loads slower and on top of that.... even after the games has loaded. It crashes when I ente actual games... I've tried tweaking my display and repairing the game updating etc. but it keeps crashing right before I load into games. This didn't happen up until the new patches were applied. PLEASE HELP.biceratops17 23h
2d Starter Edition won't upgrade to Standard Downloaded the client on the night of the 14th and used a guest pass to register. Apparently there is only 1 client to install the game (no distinction between starter/standard) On the 15th, logged in to battle.net and entered the standard account. I can clearly see the the copy of Diablo 3 as "Standard Edition". Launched the game, logged in and can still see the "Upgrade banner" on the top right. Went all the way to the black king, and as soon as I did the last blow, I got a big dialog prompting me to upgrade. Did download the client again, installed second time, no dice. Completely removed the game, installed from the hard copy DVD that I bought, still getting the same "upgrade now" banner. Haven't been able to find a similar post, which makes me wonder if I'm missing something. Did send an email via the "Customer Services" option within the game and awaiting for a reply.Cue92 2d
5d Can't start or join game Since the 2.4.3 patch, I can get into Diablo 3 and see the menu screen (with all of my characters, etc.). However, when I hit Start Game or try to enter a friend's game, it goes to the loading screen for an extended period (maybe 45 seconds), then kicks me completely out of Diablo. I tried all of the below and no change: • Run the Diablo III repair tool. • Delete these Battle.net files here and here. • Run Diablo III in windows mode. From within the Desktop App, click on Diablo III and then Options > Game Settings. Check the Additional command line arguments box. Enter -Displaymode 0 and click done.mukk6 5d
5d HELP Region Locked I bought the game on my Canadian account and after installing battle net client in French and downloading Diablo 3 in French I tried to launch the game in the Americas Region. But every time and whatever I do, it's always starting up the game on the European Region. I tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling but in English and same problem. I tried to change for Asia or the Beta thing but every time, it launches on European Region. Also, when my friends change their regions for mine, they can't see me either.jayaudet2 5d
5d No 32bit check box in game options? No 32bit check box in game options? I have been reading where people say it's very simple to change to 32bit to make the game work better but when I go to where they say to go in the client game settings I don't see a checkbox. 6d Strange Problem with Game Settings Hello. I'm having quite an odd problem with Diablo 3. Everytime I attempt to change the game setting via the title screen where your hero is, the game locks up and just shows the Mac loading icon. Everything else in the game works besides that. 6d Mouse Issues I am using a Macbook Pro About a month ago I started diablo up and my mouse stutters all over the place randomly. If I hold down the left mouse button it seems to be okay, but as soon as I let it go it stutters all over again. I tried buying a new mouse, replacing my moousepad, reinstalling diablo 3, and reinstalling Razor synapse. Using other mice. 6d Graphic lag/freezes problem I got this problem where every 5 minutes or so, the graphics will freeze/lag. Reason why I said lag is when it "freezes", I can still use healing technique or potions, when it unfreezes in about 3 - 4 seconds, I can see the healing technique activated or potion used. This is extremely annoying when I'm playing greater rifts where reviving time extends each time I die....and during the 3 seconds freeze/lag, most of the time I die. I stopped playing D3 quite a few months ago because of this. Now after a few updates it's still here. Please let me know what I can do..apart for the usual "repair" or "game setting reset" as I've done all those already. Jan 13 Client Disconnect during load screens I remember this being an issue ages ago and I guess it still hasn't been resolved. Running MacOS Sierra 10.12.1. Experiencing frequent (approximately 30% of the times) client disconnects during loading screens warping from zone to zone. Connection is fine. Game client and OS both updated. Jan 11 Problems with 5 act I've completed game long ago at sc. Completed game at hc. After patch there is no 5 act in "adventure mode". But still i can make game at any point (quest) of 5 act and complete again. I tried each of this options: Used repair tool - not helped Reinstalled - not helped Used different languages in game (downloaded different lang games) - same no result No chance to see 5 act at map :( meanwhile a can join-teleport to my friends at any quest of 5act. Jan 11 How to remove fog and "glow" effect? 1. There is a softness (?) of D3 that strains my eyes after a while. In WoW you can enter a console command to move "full screen glow". Is there such an option in diablo to make it sharper or show edges better? 2. Can the constant fog effect in areas of Act 1 be turned off? It's beautiful and fitting when used correctly (graveyard; near water) but in many areas the screen looks like a white film that plays tricks with my accommodation as the graphics don't look crisp enough. Jan 10 Mouse pointer jumping around while moving on OS X 10.10.3 Ever since updating the game to 2.2.0 on OS X Yosemite 10.10.3, regardless of the game resolution, which I started at 5120x2880, the cursor jumps around whenever it's moving. It appears to be tracking two slightly offset positions, and the angle and distance of the offset seems to vary by where and how I move the cursor. It doesn't seem to be any sort of lag, as the cursor moves the instant I move my mouse. It just jumps every other frame between the one position and the other, and responds to one position or the other, depending on which was last visible. It may or may not have something to do with how I have three pointing devices attached: A MagicMouse, which I don't use for gaming, a Logitech G9x, which is what I'm using for the game, and a Magic Trackpad. This configuration never caused a problem before the recent update or 10.10.3. Do I need to post any troubleshooting logs?kode5422 Jan 10

Jan 7 Cannot finish downloading game Hello, I have recently purchased D3 & it's expansion. While downloading the game I started to play after it downloaded enough data to become "playable." Jan 5 Mac Keyboard and mouse problems I got diablo 3 yesterday and I have already put many hours into the game and it was working fine yesterday but today I tried playing and for some reason whenever I press a key to use a spell then the game will literally hold the key forever, no joke, which meant I'm constantly being drained of my resources from constantly using random spells, including the shift key which I use to shoot in place or the escape key for the menu (I stopped playing after I had to shut my menu for the 50th time) and the map from pressing tab. I tried deleting the game and reinstalling it, still same thing, I switched mouses and keyboards and restarted the computer but still nothing worked. I know its a problem with the game because I went on multiple different game applications and they all worked fine, not an account problem because my account still runs smooth on my brothers PC, but on the mac it just tweaks out, any suggestions on a fix?CharlieMcMan4 Jan 5

Jan 4 Game Crash This has never happened playing Diablo 3 in the past. Will be playing the game normally, and then it just freezes, and the cursor turns into the spinning rainbow. It has happened fighting monsters, just sitting in town, and during loading screens. I am unable to tab out of this, I have to restart the Mac. I am playing on an: - iMac OS X Yosemite Version: 10.10.5 - Processor: 3.5 GHz intel Core i7 - Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 - Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB The game is also much slower than before. When I played Diablo 3 in the past, the game ran very smoothly. Now, it will run ok for a little while, but then start to get laggy, and eventually this full freeze happens. Jan 2 MacOS 10.11.6 vs. Intel HD Graphics 4000 Today (12/30/16), when I try to start D3 via the Battle.net Launcher, I get a message about my video card not being supported: It correctly recognizes my OS as MacOS 10.11.6, with Intel HD Graphics 4000. I hit 'Play Anyway', and I get an error dialog box saying: cannot start because a valid graphics card could not be found. This ran fine last night (12/29/16), and I have not installed any system or game updates in the meantime. Dec 24 FPS consistently below ~20 This is especially true in multiplayer and when there are a lot of enemies on screen. I feel like I should be able to sustain a higher FPS than that given my fairly new MacBook pro. Max foreground FPS is set to 40 right now. I've tried adjusting audio and visual settings but nothing seems to work. The only solution I've found is dropping the resolution ridiculously low (1680x1050), and even then I'm occasionally dropping into the 10s-20s during fights. Is this just standard for Mac users? Dec 5 Just bought D3 but can't play any gameplay! Hi! I just bough D3 for my Mac and it loaded till it was " Playable" (took about 2 1/2 hours) I am able to get on D3 and make a character. But when I try to just play the story it will go to a loading screen then crash. My battle.net app pops up and then shows that D3 is "Initializing" and I am unable to it the " Play" button again. Dec 3 Memory Leak? I can play D3 for about an hour...over that period, the gameplay slowly deteriorates, starting with small graphics stuttering, then gets a bit choppy, then complete freeze of the OS. The cursor becomes the colorful spinning wheel and the only way out is a hard reboot. Rinse, repeat... Nov 30 Stairs Dont work Stairs don't work when in a greater rift, tried leaving the rift, tried portal back into rift. Each time, the stairs to the next level do not work.
