Novels feat angels and demons?

Movies, Books, and TV
Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good dark fantasy novel, featuring angels and demons?

Much obliged.
paradise lost
I know a lot of people that enjoyed Dan Brown's novels Angels and Demons, The DaVinci Code, The Lost Symbol, and Inferno. (The storyline progresses in the order mentioned)

The books are somewhat controversial because many people mistakenly view it as Theology instead of Fiction, but they are actually pretty good books.

I wouldn't call those "fantasy" exactly, more like fiction mingled with some cryptic interpretation of facts. However, they are excellent reads.
If you want to go classic sci-fi, C.S. Lewis' Out of the Silent Planet trilogy is excellent.

There's also Lewis' close friend, Charles Williams. Descent into Hell is especially good. Be aware, though, that Williams' works deal more with what it means to be human that they do with actual conflict between Heaven and Hell.

And for an entirely different take on things, Good Omens by Terry Pratchet and Neil Gaiman.
While it is not terribly dark, I would recommend "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman. It is clever, entertaining, and darkly humorous.
Favorite story with a demon is "The Yattering and Jack" by Clive Barker.

Paradise Lost is a fanastic read, I am a lutheran and I enjoyed reading it, but as long as you go into it knowing its a fantasy.

Diablo series is actually a great read too.
