Known issues only has texture flickering and this is well beyond that. I have rebuilt game cache, uninstalled/reinstalled, and tweaked various settings on my Mac to no avail.

Anyone? Bueller?
Can someone please look at how these screenshots and let me know if this is a known issue with the current Mac version of the game?

No help other than to say that I have been experiencing the same sort of issue and thought the graphics card was starting to die after 5 months of owning my iMac.

Hopefully we get some mac love soon!

It's relieving to know that other Mac users are having similar issues. I was thinking the same thing about my graphics card, but have mostly ruled that out because I don't experience anything like it with any other games or software.

My theory right now is that it is heat related. This problem only occurs after my laptop heats up from playing the game at least 15 minutes, and I know that OS X throttles CPU and GPU to keep temperatures down, so maybe Diablo III doesn't respond well to that because the glitching always starts with a choppy frame rate. I don't have a full understanding of how these things work together, but I would start looking there.

Wow.

Devs definitely need to check out how Diablo III responds to OS X throttling. I've had this computer for 2 years and before the 2.0 patch, the game ran without any major issues and better FPS.

For me, it does not matter where I am at in the game, it's after my fans are blowing and my buttery smooth framerate starts to get choppy from system throttling. Then everything starts to gradually go psychedelic.
I have the exact same config as you do...:) Same problem, same annoying fan blowing. I had to drink a beer with closed eyes for a couple minutes before i could go back to D3 after this. :D
This one is my favorite:

Been posting about this issue for over a week now and considering how serious the problem is I'm surprised it has received almost no attention.

D3 is unplayable with this constantly happening.
Im not suprised...its Blizz... :)
I have the same problem, although I play on both Mac and Windows, I have had the bug only on Mac. I even had it during Ubers (I don't even know how I managed to not die, but was a nice challenge :D) The graphics settings I use are:

Texture : High
Shadows : Low
Physics : High
Clutter Display : High
2560x1600 (16:10 Widescreen) - Fullscreen

Here are some images of what happened and Mac information, tell me if I'm missing anything :

I'm getting the same issues, can we get some love here?
Same Issue here on a 15" Retina 2,7 GhZ i7, 16GB Ram.
Exact same issue here. I've been running at a lower resolution (1440x900) and lower graphics settings just to keep things smooth. With the lower graphics I don't run too hot, but the problem seems to pop up after about an hour or two after paying, then I have to restart Diablo.

However, I think we're on to a trend with the model. In particular, the piece of hardware I see consistent with the posts so far (who have posted specs) is the graphics card. During the google search that brought me here I actually came across a post from a windows user having similar graphics issues and primary suspect was the driver for his NVIDIA graphics card... It should be noted that this is all circumstantial evidence; the problem could be elsewhere...but I am going to start experimenting with OS-level graphics settings (e.g. disabling Automatic Graphics Switching and whatever else I can find I can modify) to see if there is any difference.

The issue also reminds me of RAM issues I've had with computers in the past that had integrated video--I've had RAM corrupt and it would give a similar corrupted-look to the screen.
I've also had similar issues in the past with one particular case with a video card: I had one computer that my dog peed on the video card and motherboard (had the side off for a couple weeks as I worked on it on and off) and also had similar results when I turned it on after trying to scrub it clean with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol. There was apparent corrosion from the pee on the v-card's onboard RAM, leading me to suspect the pee may have seeped into the chip and wreaked havoc on some boundary-layer transistors.

Talia has an iMac though, so I'm leaning toward the software side as the culprit. I can play other games for long periods of time without experiencing glitching like this.

Updated my Imgur photo album with some RoS screenshots. It's really annoying to constantly have to restart the game, or to not be able to play at all.

Help us please!

I agree; I didn't put enough thought into my post and failed to clarify the hardware is certainly not faulty, rather the the low-level graphics libraries diablo 3 started using sometime in the last few weeks is not properly handled by the video card (and not necessarily the NVIDIA...explanation follows). I'm leaning towards memory management, as the symptoms just reeks of memory issues. If I had to choose something to investigate software-side, I'd say look for a memory leak in the graphics code (which, in time, leads to an overflow in the memory). I also don't think Blizz is going to address this soon enough for my taste [right now], so I've been searching for a solution to get my graphics to adapt to their overflow. (assuming the hypothesis is correct)

Immediately after I posted earlier I disabled the "Automatic Graphics Switching" (System Preferences->Energy Saver), because I noticed when looking at the "About This Mac [More Info...]" screen it said "Intel HD Graphics 4000" at the "Graphics" line. I was under the impression that the NVIDIA would be used whenever plugged in, but that suggested otherwise. After disabling the setting, I went back to the About This Mac screen and it then [and now] displays "NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024MB". After this change I fired Diablo back up and played until about 1 before graphics corruption. This observation does not support the memory theory (both the Intel HD and NVIDIA have 1024MB VRAM) -- it only deepens the mystery for me, but this was just 1 observation.

Try disabling the 'Automatic Graphics Switching' in the 'Energy Saver' system preference pane and post back if it makes any difference

SMC resets / PRAM resets and disabling the integrated card doesn't make any difference. I can play WoW or SC2 or DoTA 2 as long as I want and no throttling or texture glitching occurs.

I have to restart Diablo 3 like every 10 minutes now because the expansion content triggers this even faster. Very annoying.
