The drop rate of this item is super low compared to its intended usefulness.

Can we have a CM reply to this please?

I 100 % agree with the quoted statement.

So lets refresh...I gained 4 freaking PL last night grinding multiple T6 and GR with my crusader and put in about 4hrs of gameplay (killing monsters, not sitting in menus chatting etc) nothing to show for it. A wizard friend who casually plays D3RoS played for like an hour...found one and used it on his WoH.

Yes I'm aware of the RNG, however the point is this item is meant as a quality of life type item but without a clear drop rate chance or place to farm it ends up being a frustration over time ghost chase.
I don't think its meant for someone to purposely hunt it down, if you get it, great, an easy socket. if not, and you want a socket, go roll it instead. why are people trying to hunt this down????
because sockets are mandatory on some items. Despite what Blizzard says.
I started playing this afternoon. Love the patch and was hoping for this gift, because I need lots and lots of them. I got an inventory full of set/legendary items. Gems, but not this gift :(
I hope this is not one of those items like SMK or shard of hate like, because they might aswell remove it for all I care.

Ramaladni's Gift is quite rare, as it's sort of a bonus. A gift, if you will. ;)

It is not, however, limited to Greater Rifts. It can drop in any game mode.

really? i got it on my second GR lol.

because you can get an extra primary affix on your weapon by using this item. roll your socket into damage or mainstat or vit and then add the socket and voila, 4 primaries and a socket instead of 3 primaries and a socket.
I managed to get one in Torment I while Bounty hunting from a normal kill, and I'm still low Paragon, so it looks like it's just another total RNG drop

To further clarify, does Ramaladni's Gift drop only at Torment level or higher, or at all levels?

Did some checking in to clarify a few points:

  • Ramaladni's Gift is considered a Torment Only item and begins dropping in Torment I
  • It can drop from any source (monsters, chests, etc.) in any game mode
  • It acts just like any other Torment-only Legendary and follows similar drop rules

Hope that clears up some confusion. :)

LOL..Yeah, and remember when everybody was like, "Ram's Gift will make all existing weapons obsolete," and "Rams Gift will be mandatory for weapons," and I kept replying to these goons that the thing is going to be so rare it won't have any impact on the game or equipment at all, and that they will probably exhaust their remaining playtime with this damn game and never, ever, see one.

But they just kept on insisting and arguing...

You guys all still think it's going to make all existing weapons obsolete, or be mandatory for all weapons?

LOL

Just b/c you have to actually, you know, PLAY THE GAME to get one it's not so are that it won't have any impact on the game? How is an extra affix not a great thing to have? I wouldn't call it life-altering, but 750 stat or 10 cdr is hardly something to turn your nose up at.

People exaggerate and then roll around in the drama thus created. Eventually they convince themselves that their imagination is real and here we are.
I got one half way through my first rift and it was a normal rift. Used it on my pet doctor.

For reference, it was T5 and it dropped from an elite pack.
Got one off of a yellow mob while farming for hellfire keys on T4 while solo yesterday, rolled my socket off my weapon and used it. Very happy with it, expect them to more common than actual weapon upgrades.

Thanks for the precise info.

Sadly, I find it a terribly ineffective gameplay system still though.

Sockets are an absolute necessity in every weapon. Having to either 1. enchant another affix (and get rid of something potentially interesting on the weapon) or hope to be incredibly lucky enough to drop a Ramaldini's Gift is not well designed in my view.

The blacksmith should be able to add a socket to any weapon (same rules as the gift: doesn't have a socket at the time) for the price of X forgotten souls. (10/15 maybe).
or
Make Rift/greater Rift guardians have an X chance (33% maybe?) to drop a Gift (like they do a soul).

Yes. 2.1 has been out for around a day.

Remember when the game first launched people complained Death Breaths where too rare?

In a few months you'll have more gifts than weapons.

and how this is any different from other rare items in D3?

its' all an RNG cluster!@#$ and if you are unlucky, you'll probably never see the majority of stuff in this game no matter how many hours you grind.

Don't you find this a bit excessive ? I got to grind for hours hoping for the weapon I need drops. Then pray to the RNG gods it actually comes with the right stats. Now I got to wait for RNG again just so I can add a socket to make the item actually usable ?

I get this game is like a casino, but not everything has to be RNG and based on luck.

Geesh, that is not how it works. Find the weapon, enchant the lamest stat to make it better, get the gift and add a socket. Doesn't take long. Geesh
got one from T6 solo normal rift

used it on a Blade of prophecy

Raw : 2.97K (min+max), +10%dmg, +964 str, CDR10%, NO SOCKET
Applied ramalandi gift: 3.14K (min+max, xmog), +10%dmg, +964 str, CDR10%, SOCKET
