Which AMD driver to fix smoke/lighting issue?

Ever since I started using an AMD card I've been having extremely annoying graphic glitches on certain skills, and environments with lighting effects. I have tried a ton of different drivers, and done clean installs. Here are a few examples:

If you're having a hard time seeing what's wrong, just look at the bottom of the effects. There's an abrupt, straight line where the effect just ends. It looks unnatural and once you notice it while playing, it's impossible to ignore.

I'm currently using the Catalyst 14.7 beta drivers, and I have a Powercolor 7870 GPU. I'd appreciate it greatly if fellow AMD users could tell me which drivers they are using that do not have this graphic glitch.
My sanity is waning.

:(
I couldn't help but notice you were using beta drivers. This could be your issue, for beta drivers are known for being experimental so they have users download them, install them, and report any bugs you find with those drivers.

That being said, I would start with uninstalling those beta drivers and installing a driver that is considered a stable-release driver. Have you already tried all the available stable-release drivers for your card?
I have the same exact issue too. Straight lines on lighting effects (chests, specific ground animation skills, etc). I've tried all the supported drivers from AMD, reinstalled OS, installed on seperate hard drive, swapped out ram sticks. What else could it be?

I've tried this recent beta driver and three recent release drivers.

Anyhow, still looking for the most recent driver that doesn't have this issue. I'd rather not go down the list of drivers; trying each of them until the issue disappears
I have a GTX 680 4 gig card and am having certain crusader skills bugged and stuck on low FX permanently now when all video options are maxed so I am now believing that it is not 1 certain type of video card error but blizzard has made a mistake on their end.
Still looking to see what drivers people with AMD cards, specifically the HD 7000 series are using.
drivers aren't the problem here the patch 2.1 has countless errors and what is happening to us is just some of that.
Your issue, and my issue are two different things.
you said in the first post you have skill glitches well so do i
Sigh... No one else with this issue? No Blizzard employee has ever encountered this issue before? I think I'm going to try the 13.12 drivers, but I've heard of people not being able to load the game with those.

Here is a couple more images to show what I'm dealing with:

Anyone using an AMD card that doesn't have this issue; I beg of you to tell me which driver you're using.
I have the exact same issues Spagetto. I'm planning on doing a full clean install and trying the 13.12 drivers but don't know if it's compatible with my R9 card. We'll see.
Spagetto,

I'm not using an AMD card presently but when I did, I used a 5870 and never saw anything like that.

Have you tried another card, preferably another AMD model, yet?

Can you see if resetting the Catalyst settings to the factory defaults makes a difference?

1. Right click on your desktop, open up Catalyst Control Center.
2. If you do not have Advanced options to begin with, make that happen.
3. In the upper right hand corner of the window, go to Options. (newer versions of CCC will have a Preferences selection instead)
4. Go down to Preferences. (skip if you're already there)
5. Select Restore Factory Defaults.
6. Try playing the game again using your usual settings.

And lastly, are you using any other apps in the background that could affect the video, such as any game overlay apps, directX enhancers, that sort of thing?

By the way, the 13.12 drivers are fine to use. We often recommend them to users of AMD APUs as those seem to have a lot of issues with AMD's 14.4 release right now.

Omrakos,

I have had the same issue using a Radeon 7800 card as I do with the R9 card so there is definetly something driver related going on here. I'll let you know if the 13.12 drivers work shortly.
I just clean uninstalled and tried the 13.12 drivers, no luck.

Here is an example of what I'm getting.

As you can tell there is an abrupt straight line ending the graphic on the skill.
SoulArisen,

Could you try the other suggestions I gave above except for trying another card? As no other users have come forward with this, it's reasonable to suspect you and Spagetto may have something in common causing this.

Can you link a screenshot of your in-game video options too as well as post your D3Prefs.txt file?
