Lost multiple GRifts due to this lag...

Blizzard AS YOUR CUSTOMER I DEMAND A RESPONSE
This is not my ISP...this is not WiFi...this is not my machine...this is not my router....ETC

Again given how much money I've put into this game....I'd like to see some comments or help.

Must I put in a ticket???
Khaosbound,

Let's download WinMTR. This tool will run a different style of pathping which will hopefully give us a little bit more information about what might be going on with the connection.

1. Download WinMTR
2. Unzip the WinMTR.zip file to the Desktop.
3. Open the WinMTR folder and select the 32 or 64 bit version. Choose whichever one corresponds to your version of Windows.
4. Run the WinMTR.exe
5. Type the IP address you want to trace in the "Host" field. If you are not sure what IP address to use, be sure to check out our "Running A Pathping Test" support article, which mentions all of our IPs used for troubleshooting purposes.
6. Click on "Start" and then launch the game. Once you notice the connection issue, play for about 10 more minutes, minimize the game and click on "Stop".
7. Click on "Copy text to clipboard" and paste the results into your next forum reply.

Provided Tracert to standard battle.net.
I have the WinMTR and D3 IP.
I'll run this tomorrow after work and see what is going on.
Good luck Khaosbound, its rather annoying and way to easy for people to say "its your ISP" yet its all 4 people in a game and no one lives in the same state. But whatever, keep going through the troubleshooting and providing logs, at least you got a reply. I am 100% sure its their servers or a route to their servers and nothing on your end though.
If one person is lagging in a game it actually makes sense that that one person would cause the other 4 to have problems. The game server has to keep track simultaneously of four people's game state _and transmit it back to all 4 of them_

In order to keep everything synchronized, if one person is adding a half-second lag, that is going to trickle down to the other four players because the game has to try and render everyone in close to real-time.
Hello, I've seen a lot of people complaining about lag lately and I'm not sure ii they have the same experience as i do (almost 100% sure) but there are several skills that causes lag issues (high ms) and by using those skills i can easily reproduce this.

The biggest issue at this point is when you apply a stacking DoT effect to a large amount of monsters with a large amount of max hp. The easiest way for me to create these lag spikes is to go on my Demon Hunter, If i run my regular M6 build with Elemental Arrow but swap the cold rune to the fire rune that drops a fire pool on the ground. As long as i just place my sentries nothing happens and i can play everything smooth , but however if i wait until a higher trial level, 40ish or higher and wait until all monsters are spawned and dump all my hatred spamming ele arrows. my ping goes up to 2k+ and the same thing happens to my entire party.

This exact thing happens when the fire bird dot is applied to a lot of high hp mobs as well.
About to run the WinMTR now guys. Seeing the same lag tonight...
More to come soon...sorry for delay...kids and work!

Please help I love this game!

Trying to push GRfit 35 and with the random lag spikes it is quite difficult!
Just got kicked in the middle of a GRift!

What's odd is I experience this in WoW as well...

Does this help?

Seems battle.net related, D3 is just my most played game...for now.

You are showing packet loss all along the trace but it starts here at your router. Are you on wireless or wired?
Wired...
Even if I plug directly into my modem I experience the same sort of issue.
can you run another MTR with your computer directly connected to the cable modem? Also try using a different ethernet cable if you can - if the problem is one of the cables then directly connecting to your cable modem won't eliminate the problem if the source is a bad cable :)
I'm having lag too. Got kicked out of a public grift. It randomly fluxes from green to red but mostly stays orange.
Posting new MTR connected to modem shortly...

Still seeing same issue connected directly to modem.

No lag on skype, youtube or twitch...just bnet

Like hal8999 pointed out, your connection is losing 1% of the data that is going through the router. This 1% data loss is also showing up in just about every hop after that particular hop. I'd first try what hal8999 suggested. Remove the router and connect directly to the modem. Once that is done, test out the game to see if there is any improvement. If there is still an issue, try running another WinMTR while connected directly to the modem, and post your results.
