Thanks Blizzard.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/15698856044#3

The following hotfix has been applied:

Monsters:
Stackable treasure from Treasure Goblins of various types now drops in fewer, but larger piles (1/22)
This hotfix is intended to reduce the amount of clutter generated and improve game performance and should not result in a reduction of loot

This has solved the problem for me.
Now they are more rare... Are you happy

well said, and agreed

I heard a little while ago this was possibly in the works

why could we not simply have

item ....... auto p/u

Gold..........y or n (imagine these are boxes to tick)
Gems........y or n
Potion........y or n
Materials....y or n
Keys (all)....y or n

Done
Thanks

Auto pickup was asked for a long time ago, and blizzzard listened... they enabled auto pickup.... oh health pots

Fairly certain that's because the goblin buff is over.
Good topic.

This was (original thread has been deleted) a post made by Grimiku...

"This is one of many solid suggestions we’ve seen regarding improvements that could be made to the crafting resource management system. On the whole, we agree with your feedback and are currently working on some different ways to help streamline the process of picking up, storing, and using crafting resources.

Let me preface what I’m about to say with the caveat that any changes we make to crafting material management at this point would come after Reaper of Souls ships. With that in mind, here’s a few ideas we’re tinkering with to help get you thinking about some of the cool possibilities:

-All crafting materials would be moved to a currency-style storage in the UI. Think something similar to Blood Shards.
-All crafting materials would become auto pickup, except for LEGENDARY crafting material. (Legendary crafting material would still be automatically stored as a currency, but players must click on it to pick it up.)
-All crafters would pull crafting materials from this storage area for recipes.
-Crafting materials that the player doesn’t currently own would appear in grey text with a 0 counter.
-Players could mouse over the icons of all crafting material to get the full tooltip of the item. This includes greyed out ones.
-Currently, we do not intend to store gems in this way because it would make socketing items feel clunky.

Note that this is all still a work in progress and thus subject to lots and lots of iteration. Again, while this is something that won’t make the launch of the expansion, we still wanted to acknowledge that we’ve seen your feedback, agree with it, and are already starting to act on some of your suggestions."

There was a time when we had been thinking of a UI-based crafting material management system but we have since moved away from this idea. That said, we have looked at different options to make collecting certain kinds of loot a bit easier and less cumbersome. One of these ideas was recently implemented in a hotfix, making stackable treasure drop in fewer, but larger piles. However, we don’t have any details to share about other possible changes right now.

Malevolent Tormentors reuseable parts are not stacking. :)

Will this equate to less clicks?

Atm I don't enjoy clicking on crafting mats, threads title is about carpal tunnel.

>_>

Unlimited Stack > Limited Stacks.

If you they don't want to give us a special UI for materials, materials should have an unlimited stack.

if you've shifted away from UI-based crafting management (amazing idea in the first place), why can't they just be coded to auto pick up like health potions do. and speaking of health potions, remove auto pick up from those. i have a healthy supply of legendary potions now and don't remember the last time i actually used a standard health potion. clearing those out of the pack after every rift and grift is really annoying.

So... you thought about it for a year (post RoS release) and decided to... do nothing?!

Gee... thanks for nothing I guess?

Are you that starved for dev resources? Thumbs down.
Hey, you gotta give the devs credit. It took them only 2.5 years to admit that wizard's mandatory armor and damage buff on the skill bar (taking 2 out of 6 slots) is a bad idea.

....why?

Because having all these different mats take up space in your inventory is part of the Diablo experience!

Because stash space and technical limitations.

Moving crafting mats to the UI effectively provides a new stash tab to be filled with unique gear, each with unique ID. System couldn't handle it.

Thou shalt not hoard.
Hotfix: All health pots will now be the same as Greater Rift trail keys and will have to be moved to a character and deleted from your account. Also, you will now have more Veiled Crystals drop in 100 stacks per kill and all other crafting materials will no longer drop. Christ, go farm Halls of Agony if you want whites. RG's and mat goblins aren't giving you %$&#. OH! BTW, since we hotfixed goblin pickups, we also took them out of the game. You were used to 4-5 packs a day. Now you may see one a month. That should help your damn complaints about carpal tunnel. Wussy,

When you open bounty bags, the crafting materials aren't dropping in stacks unfortunately, which is very annoying when you open up several of them.

F.e. 20 caches = 3 minutes clicking to get all the gems, mats and items.

By the way: Salvage all doesn't work for rare and magic items from Horadric Caches for some reason.

There is a bug associated with the Broken Crown - when you used kill a gem goblin, you'd get like 12 individual gems, and thus 12 extra from the Crown. Now, you get stacked gems, but only 1 extra gem / stack drop - thus a 50-90% nerf in the amount of gems you get if wearing the Crown.

Makes me sad.

Great example of lack of SQA.
