Thanks for sharing the preview for patch 2.2.0, Agmo!

I'll be really curious to hear people's thoughts once they've had the chance to try out the new content on the PTR – including what they like about it, what they don’t like about it, and what suggestions for improvement they have. I’m sure the new items will generate some cool new build ideas, both in our class forums and elsewhere.

For those reading who may have missed it, you can get a good overview of what's coming in the PTR at the above link from Diablo Fans or in our original blog post.

Will the new sets be available in season only?

While adding new sets and legendaries helps with diversity and such, 10 sets and 15 legendaries is nowhere near enough.

There are a number of ways to significantly boost the count. One is adapting an existing item effect for one class skill to another:

Example:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/incense-torch-of-the-grand-temple

Add the skill cost reduction effect to a mighty weapon like http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/blade-of-the-warlord and change the skill to Seismic Slam. Boom, new legendary.

Same for http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/starfire and make it work for Arcane Orb. Boom - 2 new legendaries.

Copy, paste and edit - Surely it can't be that hard unless you have to rebuild a big chunk of game code every time you want to add a new item or something to that effect.

Bottom line is the drip feeding on new legendaries is simply unacceptable. There are simple ways around it yet nothing is being done about it.
And what suggestions for improvement they have...

My suggestion: remove the trials.

Hi, I have been playing Diablo 3 since beta and also I played Diablo 2 during its heyday as a kid but today I have some bad news because I read through your patch notes and there is no fix for all the griefing and abuse I receive on a daily basis while farming shards and XP in public games after handing in the quest reward when the neph rift is completed.

The majority of players in the 2nd season are new players and dont understand the gearing process and believe that if a rift is handed in (even by design) it warrants a smart !@#$ remark and name calling (scum and dog have been used among banned profanity).

I ask you why your community is farming trash mobs in Neph Rifts when its soul purpose is to collect blood shards and loot as quickly as possible for new characters, not to be insulted and abused by over-geared characters who should be in Greater Rifts farming for 100% drops from RG instead of griefing players trying to gear as quickly as possible.

Why havent you made the NR quest hand in idiot proof like in the Greater Rifts? by design you have encouraged hundreds and thousands of new players to engage in major breeches of TOS by ignoring the major flaw in the Neph Rift quest hand in and yet there is still no mention of hot fix or patch to address this crisis.

i can tell you one thing i already see being an issue. the new rifts. it's just more of the same. rifts are boring now. adding new areas isn't going to help. adding more unique events would liven things up a bit. things such as the cow rift. we need more events like this, or other events inside rifts to make each one unique, rather than kill kill kill rg clear/close repeat. new bounties sound cool IF implemented properly. hopefully you'll have to rescue multiple people, or demons. if it's only 1 guy, eh. still a welcome change
new sets would be more enticing without the dreaded prospect of trying to find yet more room in the 90's rpg standard stash size.
I don't get it. What is the benefit for the Devs to keep bringing in new content that we don't pay for?

Is this the reason why we don't get things such as offline mode and have bannable offences relating to the EULA? Because the product we paid for was unfinished?

I'd be happy even if the game stayed the way it was and only things that were being addressed were bugs.

I hope this new patch doesn't undo 1000s hours we have put in, and rather motivates us to try new stuff rather than force us in to it, like every other previous patch has been.
question in the patch 2.2.0 under the new improved sets the armor set on the girl in the picture on the far right is that the wizard? if So I really like that look of the armor set
The cosmetic thing is awesome.
The bounties seem interesting
You are going too far with the goblins
The new sets look terrible. The barbarian set looks like the same exact model as one that currently exists, only way uglier. What is with the art directors and the poor armor models in this game? 99% of the sets and legendary sets look terrible, while the less flashy armor is less crazy and cooler looking. You completely lose the class fantasy as your armor tiers go up? Can you not see that?

I'm really curious to know why aren't you addressing Helltooth?.
Encouraging to see that there's still one or two people working on Diablo, but beats me why they waste time with useless crap like extra gobs (a gold gob, really? anyone out there who's running out of gold? unless he drops a bil why bother) and cosmetics window?

So its safe to Say that Wizards are SO OP that we dont deserve any BUFFS what so ever till 2016/2017....

Man i was just starting to give this game a try again with seasons but now im falling out of interest after reading this. I cant believe that you truly feel like wizards are in a good spot. These Developers need to WAKE UP and and FIX the class.

Seriously... Can you Discriminate against the Wizard anymore than you already have with the CM Nerf (not intended game design), then turn around and create Perma-Fear and tell us (its now your intended game design). Then Turn around and Buff Classes that didnt even need to begin with like the DH. On top of that you Told us that DH playstyle is unhealthy gameplay and needed to be changed yet you left firebirds alone when it does the EXACT same thing??

Its pretty obvious that those 4 Devs do not play the Wizard. If your NEVER going to fix this class then Please Give anyone a refund who Main's a Wizard and ask's for it. The Wizard was good upto patch 1.08 then you Destroyed the class without our permission and when the community begs for buffs you ignore us.
Let's hope the set make Wiz competitive in terms of dps, who doesn't like seeing 500 million damage popping up all over the screen.

The majority of players in the 2nd season are new players and dont understand the gearing process and believe that if a rift is handed in (even by design) it warrants a smart !@#$ remark and name calling (scum and dog have been used among banned profanity).

right there shows why you're having an issue though, as YOU are the one that does not understand the gearing process. previously it was more efficient to rush the guardian\close\repeat. That however is no longer the case. You get many more legendaries from clearing trash\elite packs until the rift is entirely clear (significantly more than you will even from GRift farming).

Your entire premise is flawed, Grifts net you 1-4 legs per rift guardian typically, whereas it's not uncommon for a full clear of a t6 rift to net 5 to as many as 15 legs (granted you'll have the occassional with only 1 or 2) but that is why you are receiving so much negative feedback when closing the rift early. If you don't want to stay to finish clearing the rift, then leave the game, but don't close the rift before the rest of your party is ready to close it, or be prepared for them to be less than happy with you about it.

perhaps instead of demanding some kind of "fix" from blizzard, you should examine that if it's happening on such a regular basis, perhaps it is you that should reevaluate the situation for what you're doing wrong.

HA! And that's where it will end...satisfying your curiosity.

The actual designers and developers couldn't care less what we have to say; whether we like it, don't like it, or have suggestions for changes or improvements. All will be equally and universally ignored.

It was interesting to read about the updates you're planning for the current sets. We probably have somewhat of an idea about R6 and Zuni sets (or at least the type of game play you will be supporting with them). However, can you give us an idea what you are intending to do with the Roland set? hearing that you're updating this set was certainly a pleasant surprise. (just a rough idea what you'll do, no need for specifics and details)
