* INTRO *
___________________________________________________________________
Short and sweet. A guide for:

1) Speed T6 (low difficulty; GR 1-30)
2) Speed GR (medium difficulty; GR 30-50)
3) Solo progression (GR 50-60)
___________________________________________________________________

I. T6 Speed
___________________________________________________________________

The fastest T6 spec I’ve run. It is on par or almost on par with perma-conduit, in-geom monk, etc.

ACTIVES
Teleport: Calamity
Wave of Force: Heat Wave
Explosive Blast: Flash
Frost Nova: Frozen Mist
Storm Armor: Power of the Storm
Magic Weapon Conduit

PASSIVES
Elemental Exposure
Glass Canon
Audacity
Astral Presence

GEMS
Bane of the Trapped
Bane of the Powerful
Pain Enhancer

GEAR
Weapon: Aether Walker
Helm: Tal Rasha
Amulet: Tal Rasha
Pants: Tal Rasha
Gloves: Tal Rasha
Belt: Tal Rasha
Chest: Cindercoat
Source: Cosmic Strand
Ring1: RORG
Ring2: SOJ
Boots: Nilfur’s Boast
Shoulders: Any
Bracers: Nemesis

FOLLOWER
Doesn’t matter. Maybe scoundrel for Crit or Templar for regen/heals.

PARAGON
50 in max resource. Rest in Intelligence. Can put some in movespeed but won’t help much.

Note: Take RCR on shoulders, paragon and additional spot(s) if needed. Make your Cindercoat 29-30 RCR. Make sure you have 10 CC+4 APOC on source. WOF% dmg on boots, helm, and source. IAS isn’t super important. Arcanot can sub in for MW: Conduit. Pride Fall + Dominance is also effective in place of Cindercoat.

Play: Teleport around using Calamity (every other cast is free with Cosmic Strand, and half the casts have 0 cooldown). When monsters, use Flash + Heat Wave while you teleport around. Spam or keymarch Calamity + Heat Wave + Flash as you move across packs. Use Frozen Mist at elites and know that an ice meteor is coming + huge ground dot. Be aware of your delayed DOT dmg from Pain Enhancer and know that it will finish off most monsters without you needing to stick around.

___________________________________________________________________

II. Speed Greater Rifts (30-50)
___________________________________________________________________

The fastest speed Greater Rift wizard build I’ve played. I clear GR 45 in 4 minutes solo. Coop runs 40+ in under 3 minutes. Coop runs 30-37 in 0.75-2 minutes and spec will carry others.

NOTE: For GR <30, the T6 spec is faster.

ACTIVES
Teleport: Calamity
Meteor: Meteor Shower
Explosive Blast: Flash
Frost Nova: Frozen Mist
Storm Armor: Power of the Storm
Familiar: Arcanot

PASSIVES
Power Hungry
Blur
Audacity
Astral Presence

GEMS
Bane of the Trapped
Taeguk
Gizzard (honorable mention Zei, BoP).

GEAR
Weapon: Aether Walker
Helm: Pride’s Fall
Amulet: Tal Rasha
Pants: Tal Rasha
Gloves: Tal Rasha
Belt: Tal Rasha
Chest: Cindercoat
Source: Tal Rasha
Ring1: RORG
Ring2: SOJ or Convention
Boots: Nilfur’s Boast
Shoulders: Skeleton King Pauldrons or other with 8 RCR
Bracers: Ancient Parthan Defenders

PARAGON
50 in max resource. Rest in Intelligence.

Note: Take RCR on shoulders, paragon and an additional spot if needed. Make your Cindercoat 29-30 RCR. Make sure you have 10 CC+ 4 APOC on source. Meteor% rolls on boots, helm, source. IAS isn’t important. Arcanot makes an appearance over Conduit here because procs are low due to 1) things die quickly, 2) low proc on meteor shower. APD is in to protect you during elite encounters. If you feel safe, try Nemesis or Reapers.

Play: Teleport around using Calamity. When monsters <5, skip. When monsters >5, use flash + Meteor Shower while you teleport around. Spam or keymarch Calamity + Meteor Shower + Flash as you move across packs. Use Frozen Mist as needed. Frozen Mist can offer some AP returns if dropped in large packs. Don’t worry about stragglers. Recognize dangerous situations and leave them temporarily or permanently by teleporting away.

___________________________________________________________________

III. Solo Greater Rift Progression (50-60)
___________________________________________________________________

I beat GR 56 in <10 minutes using this spec and GR 58 in 11:25. GR 53 is a 99% win for me regardless of RNG hate. I think this spec is capable of GR 60+.

ACTIVES
Teleport: Calamity
Meteor: Meteor Shower
Explosive Blast: Flash
Frost Nova: Frozen Mist
Storm Armor: Power of the Storm
Magic Weapon: Conduit

PASSIVES
Unstable Anomaly
Blur
Audacity
Astral Presence

GEMS
Bane of the Trapped
Zei’s Stone of Vengeance
Taeguk

GEAR
Weapon: Aether Walker
Helm: Pride’s Fall
Amulet: Tal Rasha
Pants: Tal Rasha
Gloves: Tal Rasha
Belt: Tal Rasha
Chest: Tal Rasha
Source: Tal Rasha
Ring1: Unity
Ring2: Convention
Boots: Nilfurs
Shoulders: Skeleton King Pauldrons
Bracers: Ancient Parthan Defenders

FOLLOWER
Templar
Eun-Jang-Do
Ess of Johan
Unity
Bul-kathos Wedding Band

PARAGON
50 in max resource. Rest in Intelligence.

Note: Take RCR on shoulders, paragon and an additional spot if needed. Cindercoat (29-30 RCR) can also be used instead of Pride’s Fall. Make sure you have 10 CC+4 APOC on source. Meteor% rolls on boots, helm, source. IAS isn’t important. Conduit is back over Arcanot since things don’t die fast and your proc-fueled AP regen works again (Conduit, APOC).

Play: Teleport around using Calamity. When monsters <10, skip or herd together other packs nearby. When monsters >12 (medium or high progress monsters, not scorpions), use flash + Meteor Shower while you teleport around within packs. If low on AP, conserve AP by using only Calamity while Convention is non-fire. Try to target ranged. When Convention is half way through Ice phase (the phase preceding Fire) use Frozen Mist and begin spamming meteors (+ Calamity + Flash). Frozen Mist offers substantial AP regen when dropped in large packs.

Recognize dangerous situations and leave them temporarily or permanently by teleporting away. This is very important in solo GR progression. It takes a while to learn what dangerous situations are. Usually there is temptation to finish off elites below 50% or even 25% when they are nearly alone. Don’t do it. Learn what elite affixes are dangerous. At the limit of one’s capabilities (your max GR), 60-100% of elite packs should be skipped.

I usually use all pylons when encountered until progress is 60%. Then I will attempt to save Shield and Conduit Pylons for RG. It’s easy to manage pylons for RG in this spec. Find pylon you want to save, jump past monsters in area. Return and kill those monsters when progress is nearly 100%. Pylon tip: don’t use pylons until you recognize a distinct need for their boost. Don’t take channeling unless you are out of resource. Don’t take shielding unless you are going to take out isolated elites. Don’t take power unless you’ve first cleared most of the easy to kill stuff and your convention phase is aligned appropriately.

Kill Rift Guardians (RG) using the “Convention Joust.” Teleport away from all RG threats and wait for convention Ice phase. At 50% ice phase, Calamity on to the RG while simultaneously dropping Flash, Frozen Mist, and Meteor Shower. This initiates a stun, 4 stacks of tals, and all 4 Tal Meteors. The frozen meteor will momentarily freeze the RG when it hits. Calamity + frozen meteor buys you about 3 seconds of safety in melee range and 2 seconds at range before your AP becomes depleted, the fire phase of convention ends, and the RG looks at you hella angry-like. Retreat and repeat while maintaining Taeguk. At 20% the Templar’s Eun-Jang-Do + Bul-kathos ring aura takes over, usually freezing the permanently until dead. Watch out because the templar will sometimes stops attacking and reposition, letting the RG attack. None of this is foolproof and you will die a lot. Practice to improve.

Awesome, thanks for the guide!
Excellent guide, can't wait to try these out!
Build sounds pretty crazy, way to go Vox for #1 !

You've stuck with your Aether walker guns for the longest time, great to see results for your efforts !
Been waiting for this, thanks Vox!
Thanks for the nicely formatted guides.

I've used something similar to your T6 Speed spec. Since I'm picking up most things that drop, I've been using Wreath of Lightning and Boon of Hoarder for LGs; along with Krelm's Buff Belt and Warzechian Armguards. Because of the cooldown on Teleport, when wreath of lightning activates running is faster than teleporting.

- you dont use any armor spell that provides toughness, nor do you use esoteric or gizzard. how do you manage to not get one-shotted all the time at 45+? xD

- have you considered to use tornado on T6/ low grifts along with the new seasonal bracers? I used mistral over frozen mist so I could pull alot of trash and instagib them with the following meteor
Ive been using ur speed T6 build since you first posted it and can certainly vouch for its speed.

I do however have made a modification to it for my seasons toon which i find better... yeah ranselors folly... or however its spelled. its just more efficent to bring mobs to ur feet than having to hop around the screen to hit em all. Also i found flashs 1.5 sec delay annoying as by the time it blows up i usually have already ported out XD.

It is basically the same concept but changing heat wave for static pulse, flash for short fuse, frozen mist for mistral breeze and power of the storm for arcanot. passives add in evo instead astral presence.

arcanot + conduit + static pulse take care of the resources, specially since you group alot of mobs with mistral + bracer pull.

gearwise I using the prides helm instead of cindy and stack a couple rcr and cdr rolls. so with evo and diamond i sit at around 45 cdr for same 3 sec ebs and around 50 rcr with prides bonus.

give it a shot.
Great post thanks Vox and other members with their input.
btw why Zeis Gem? the stun? is it that much better over a def gem?

first, thanks for the post Vox, very nice.
i think ill dust off my AW to try this :)

little confused in above quote.

which is it, meteor shower, or the frozen meteor (comet) - cant have both, obviously :)

did you mean the mist will freeze?

also, thoughts on Gizzard vs Taeguk?
Perfect for players who are still struggling to find an ancient Serpent's Sparker.

I might give this a go once I get tired of the melee setup. I do have the gear, though I'll have to go look for a new Tal source (all the ancient ones I have are pre-2.2).

did you mean the mist will freeze?

Comet will automatically freeze anything already chilled (by Frozen Mist).

right, but it wasnt in the build :D
or is that comet from tal's ? .... ohhhhh //lightbulb
But Frozen Mist will procc a Tal Rasha Comet
Try cosmic strand instead of cindercoat in the T6 build. It will save you at least as much AP, and will allow you to travel faster because AW still has that annoying half second cooldown on teleport.

derp, forgot RoRG existed.
I tossed some gear together to try out this build and just missed GR 50 on my first attempt (need to get better at jousting). I tossed in a 54 key immediately after and again I just missed completing it. I'll definitely be using this build going forward, at least until I get my hands on an ancient SS.
