Its time already

General Discussion
Blizzard needs to give us more Mercenaries and more skills for them. They also need to make this so everyone can have a mercenary with them.like in D2.
Its time they increase the players to 6-8 people in one game for a bit more fun.
Its also time already to give us a lobby so we can hand pick our games.
Most of these ideas are good, that's why they will never ever be implemented.
Would be nice if your follower could equip the same thing as you do, but they have some form of diminishing return or cap if Blizzard doesn't want them to do all the work. Lobby idea is pretty awesome.
With all the talk around here about how we can make solo play more rewarding, I am consistently puzzled as to why people don't automatically turn to the obvious; Improve Followers.

There are a number of things they could do to increase our followers role in solo play.
You know, there's one game that offers everything you guys are asking for, and you can jack the difficulty rating all the way up to players 8.

Let D3 be what it is. I enjoy playing it right now as is. When I don't enjoy it anymore (which could happen any day) I'll move on to another of my games until the ease of play calls me back here again.

No big deal. It's a game , not a career.

What would you do, specifically, to improve the followers then?

Followers are a large task. We have three followers right now, one for each main stat: str, dex, int. Which would we use for the fourth? What type of character would they be?

And after we figured out our concept for a new follower type, we need:

  • A set of 8 skills for them that are interesting and compelling.
  • A backstory and a set of new content to introduce them and acquire their aid.
  • A voice actor to bring the character to life.
  • A set of audio interactions with all 6 classes, male and female, including their replies.
  • New art for the model of the character while it runs and fights.
  • Testing to ensure that all of this content actually works as intended.

It's not a small task if it's to be done right. I don't think Blizzard would be willing to do something like this without a new expansion.

I would be interested to see perhaps a necromancer (though I'd rather have it be a playable class) or a melee damage specialist like a D2 barbarian or druid or even a spearazon if Skovos Island were the site of the expansion.

Another idea that might be interesting would be an angelic or demonic ally, along the lines of a follower of Itharius (sp?) and Lilith. Storywise, they'd want an end to the eternal conflict and trust the nephalim to bring it to fruition and so were willing to fight their own, if need be.

I'm confused???

Where did I even hint at adding a new follower type?

1) Add new gear slots for helmet and chest armor.

2) Remove the MF nerf from them. Allow them to use full MF bonus from gear without diminished returns.

3) Follower-only legendary Rings/Amulets.

I suppose I could think of more, but the above would be a good start to level the playing field for solo players.
I would like larger group play, but realistically speaking, I doubt the game can handle it. The game lags when there are too many mobs as it is. Game is not optimised for larger group play and it maybe a technical issue that they can't remedy anytime soon with game being online play only.

Also they would have to tone done the visual noise of all the skill effects. Have you ever played with 2 Wizards using mammoth hydra? Its almost impossible to see ground effects. Pretty much the same issue before they fixed the visual noise of WW Barbs.

Also cursor is easily lost with all the bells and whistles going on.
You know another simple thing they could have done for someone who suffers from eye issues is give me a cursor that just stands out.

We also need a tab or something specific to where we can store each set item and be able to press 1 button to equip it all along with some more stash space.

Why can we not buy additional buffs for a limited time like the anniversaries, my 30 billion gold is worthless.

Why one follower in solo why not 5 or something make up for a party game.

Conquests should give additional magic find, buffs or even a bonus stage so people actually play the story. (will be great with a lobby and game choosing like "help with act 4 or some conquest".

Give us pets that actually do something even pokemon will do.

For the love of the next expansion if we get to see one can you give us 7 more acts and 5 additional characters to make up for the under cant be bothered RoS to make up for it.
While you are at it bring them cows back or even sheep lol.

Dont even get me started on the PvP.
im all for increasing party size....but...

for most people the game will preform poorly, and youll have way too much crap going on to see what you are doing.

As far as pvp goes, ive stated this many times, no one whos for pvp cares to think about this....but...

every arpg game that has pvp....no one plays it....its a side dish at best...and there IS pvp in D3 its been in for what, years? No one does it. Why would they invest resources into a feature no one plays, and that no one plays in any of the other games with more fleshed out pvp systems.....

For expansion I want them to tackle the character building "elephant in the room" give us a nice big skill tree with multiple paths that would result in multiple builds per character with lots of options to tweak and make unique builds. That's all this game needs at this point other than of course more content.
And also give us the option to give our mercenaries armor like in D2
You can still go play D2 you know. If you want it so bad go play it and stop trying to devo D3 into D2.

Skill tree? LMFAO!!!!! It's good in theory but no one EVER builds unique builds. They will always do cookie cutters. Why waste resources in something no one takes part in.
Really hope they do someting about it all..

As is my follower atleast has some impact upon T6 gameplay but above that non at all..
6-8 players cannot be done without some serious optimization on their part.

4 Players can already "freeze" the game, every additional players can only make it worse.

A Lobby aka Custom Game would be really good. However, I fear that it's going to be filled with "spammers".

Well with that logic many arpg or rpg or whatever you want to call them may as well go play them instead of this.
While we are at it why ask for any new additional items and seasons ladders as many other games have this may as well go play them others.
The point of it all is to make the game better and better using old features to new, making a game where the fun last and feel like you are progressing as everyone has finished the main story game.

If they made PvP good it would never be a side dish so if they do make it they need to think how they can make it good. Say for example taking part in PvP rewards you in some way and some how accounting you beat people on a ladder or something like that (im not sure how this would actually work) then you can throw away your side dish and take part in it.
