Barbarian

Just sharing what I use for GemUps. Nothing new but for some it will be so here is a little guide to help you gear a nice R6 build.

YouTube:

Boulder Toss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAcVrPeTgj0

FotVP: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/130841428

The Build:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#QUSPRi!WfZS!YbZZca

Swap Boulder Toss for Rumble if you want to use FotVP.

You can switch No Escape for Rampage if you don't like going range and aiming.

Gems:

BotT is a must, the other two I personally like but are not entirely necessary. Use what you like best.

BotT: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/bane-of-the-trapped

Zei's: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/zeis-stone-of-vengeance

BotP: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/bane-of-the-powerful

Cube

Weapon: See the Weapon section. You will cube what you don't have.

Skular's or Nems: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/skulars-salvation

BoM: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/band-of-might

Jewelry

Rings: FnR: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/focus

Both: chd - cc - cdr

Ammy: Use your best one. I use a HF w/Rampage.

phy% - chd - chc

Armor

Raekor's 6pc: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/raekors-will

R6 Helm: str - vit - cc (high paragon can switch vit for Ancient Spear dmg%)

R6 Chest: str - vit - life%

R6 Shoulder: str - vit - ad - cdr

R6 Gloves: str - chd - cc - cdr

R6 Pants: str - vit - ar

R6 Boots: str - vit - ar - Acient Spear%

Belt: PoC: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/pride-of-cassius

str - vit - ar - lpfs

Bracers: Nem's or Skular's: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/nemesis-bracers

phy% - str - vit - cc

Weapons/Shield

There are various options for this build since a lot of the dmg comes from the R6 set so not necessary to have the ideal setup to make it work. I've tested from worst ideal setup to the best and they both perform well. I even tested using a Pig Sticker and it did fine.

2H

FotV: https://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/fury-of-the-vanished-peak

DW

Best dmg setup is MH: 300, OH: Doombringer, Cube: In-geom/Furnace (just depends what you like, but I cube In-geom)

300th: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/the-three-hundredth-spear

Doombringer: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/doombringer

In-geom: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/ingeom

Sun Keeper: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/sun-keeper

str - ad - cdr

(mine's are: str - vit - cdr)

OH Shield: Lidless Wall: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/lidless-wall

The Shield is a great option if you don't have any of the above weapons. You can use the SnB passive instead of one of the dmg passives if you go this route.

phy% - str - cc - cdr

Armor Gems:

Helm: diamond

Body: diamonds / Rubies (just depends on your paragon level i guess, but I do Rubies)

Have you tried. Aquila instead of defenders?
I've played with ranged R6 some and have 2 thoughts.

Bane of the trapped - you mention this gem but is it reliable? If you're in No Escape and Zeis range then the mobs are outside your cc radius. Are we assuming group play where they are cc'd by others?

SoE - no max fury. 12 fury would be a lot of BT damage loss no?
Damage or damage migration. You'll need to pick one or the other. Unless you run ip soe is a very strong choice for belt slot.

Not extensively but from what I have this is what I noticed:

1. Soon as you make the toss you'll be there standing with your pants down. And you might think this split second won't matter but it actually makes a difference when there are constant elements, motors, etc, surrounding you it will make you rip more often than if using APD's. That's what I found from the few runs I tested it.

2. APD's have more damage reduction potential.

I explain how to play the build in the game commentary using TS- Intimidate.

It is a loss compared to other R6 variations but not detrimental. Also the exchange is + ~30% melee reduction which is huge.

It's a give and take substitution.
I would highly recommend to try both if possible since it only takes a few medications to alternate

I would speak to your doctor before changing medications.

+1 potato for cool build. I now wish I had not salvaged all those ancient spears and stormshields so I could give it a try.

haha :D for sure guys don't change your medication unless you speak to your doctor, and just tell him PotatoKing recommended it :D

btw later I'll be posting a run with all the different weapon variations I pointed out on the vid. First I wanted to go with the lowest dmg potential setup so you see what the lowest is capable of.
KB do you think a nice physical Lidless would be preferable over dual weilding? Get the %element, + fury and a little mitigation

Edit: factoring in CHD for offhand, Lidless doesn't win over DW

Key word here is Preferable. In this case Preferable is a matter of balance and gear options. If you lack two solid DW weapons then for sure Lidless would be the right call.

If you go with Lidless make sure you go with a DW Helm: str - vit - cc

About CHD: Yes it's a lost. But what do you gain? toughness + cc. CC is very important in any Raeakor's BT build because you are only getting the real benefit if you Crit. Raekor's doesn't do dmg overtime. It either hits big or it just tickles. This is why CC is a very good stat to maximize and with a shield you can get ~10%CC more of it.

In other words, don't rule it out.
This seems like a ripoff of DieHard's build.

Where's the credit?

No doubt in my mind this is a meta viable build. (+90s)

I'm currently p1754, all Gems Lv 106, and only have a couple of gears augments, and can beat GR85 (86 w/dual 300th). My time is limited so I haven't spent the time to push but grinding XP, Lev gems, Bounties, and Keys. I know the the deeps are there to push when the time comes around. I will be posting more vids pushing or testing.

JABRAWLT-A-A-A-A!!!!

Believe or not, I (like KB) actually thought about something along these lines, but thought, "Nah, they'll crucify me!".
R6 is quite an uptick for Rend and HotA while you're farming up 300th and Skulars. First men bracers and the Cache shield fell for me first on my seasons barb.

Read this and had a split second bright idea until I realized it's impossible.

But imagine R6 for the 3750% modifier to spenders
Waste 2 for 500% increase to Rend
Belt for double Rend

1350% rend * 6 * 38.5 * 2 = 623,700% weapon damage that you could apply to everything and let it chase you. I would play that.
Koreans have their own version of this build, SnB that is, without zei gem. With WOTB, CoE and IP. So far it beats grift 89 (para 1900).

Uhm, if anyone, and I mean anyone deserves credit, it's me. I was nice enough not to whisper spam him while recording these videos.
