I just keep getting a ton of lag, take like 10 steps, then wait 20 seconds, does that for like 5 min then finally just logs me out with error code 1016. Come on Blizzard, fix this
TheDeuce,

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps yet to resolve it? If so, please list what they were. If not, let's start by getting a WinMTR report from you.

https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/27780

Also, I'd like to know if you're using a wired or wireless connection.
i log in.... then get disconnected from server about 1-2 minutes into game. Gives me error code 1016 and makes me log in with password again. Is doing this on America's and European server.
Maybe Omrakus could answer a simple question? What is error code 1016???

I have been dealing with lag since I started playing about an hr ago. Lost 2 rifts(1 greater)as I was about to finish. My connection is fine (over145mbs download)
If these lag and banding issues are the reason for the maintenance tomorrow just tell us!!!!!
I am having the same error, I am happy I am not the only one that needs a solution. Solo or in a group of 4 I experience this, also when I alt tab and return to the game.
Hey all,

The 1016 error is a generic disconnection error. It just means there was a disconnection. It does not point to a specific cause of the disconnection. Since it is a generic disconnection message there can be several different things causing it.

Each of you may end up seeing a different cause for the disconnection or they may be similar causes. We would need to do some testing to see what is causing the disconnections and latency for each of you. To help find the cause of this please try the steps Omrakos mentioned and post the results from a WinMTR.
this is getting really frustrating , damn it blizzard fix this problem please
I really enjoy playing diablo , its one of my passions . blizzard please fix the server. hence , freezing and 1016 code. this started with the maintenance u started today . never had a problem before , until today. cant even play for 2 min. without freeze and getting kicked off to log in . I really urge u (blizzard)to fix the server . please and quickly
your not the only ones and im on fiber, so i know its not my internet connection, its only been happening for last 2 days
I´m having disconnect only when playing season. They disconnect startede this evening again.

I never get a DC when in the town. At the moment season is not playable.

I have restarted my computer, router. I have 3 computers where the same DC happens on. Dont have any lag issues.

I also re-installed D3 tonight and still the same.

The DC started last friday and has been comming and going since.
Receiving error code 1016 as well, instant disconnects from client and being sent to main menu. Also recieving lots of stuttering and lag spikes repeatedly during game play.

Hi, having the same problem here, randomly it just disconnects me and I can't find a pattern as to why since it only does it on Diablo 3 and not even any other Blizzard game. I should mention this has been happening to me for awhile in both Georgia and Massachusetts if that helps narrow it down. Below is the log about 30 seconds after I lost connection.

EDIT: Oh and this is on a wired connection with no wireless card to test it with.

Siouxicide- From the latency spikes and the average latency, it does remind me of wireless connections I have seen. If the computer is on a wireless connection, see if a wired connection make a difference. If the wired connection does not make a difference, please try the steps below.

| 10.0.0.1 - 0 | 199 | 199 | 1 | 13 | 209 | 6 |

Titanimo From the looks of the connection test it does look like that the first connection is a wireless one. Since it is a wired connection, it does make the results a bit concerning. I take it that you are playing on the same computer is both locations.

• To be on the safe side make sure Windows is up to date.

Make sure the network card is up to date and the setting are set properly.

• Run the computer in a selective startup mode.

• Please power cycle the network equipment and flush the DNS.

• If possible see if using a different cable makes a difference to connect the computer to the router makes a difference.
I didn't think of it, but the cable is connected to a router that is connected to a modem about 40ft away. I can't possibly plug it in directly, but I have changed cables and done everything you have listed. I played for the 30 mins I had today and it didn't kick me, but I'll test it out longer tomorrow; Thanks for replying.
Hello, I am aswell having this very same issue. So i went ahead and did the 10 min Winmtr test.

Test number 1 time 10 mins played.

Your support is garbage. THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF PLAYERS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE RIGHT NOW IT IS NOT A PLAYER SIDE ISSUE IT IS ON THE SIDE OF YOUR COMPANY NOW FIX THE ISSUE RIGHT NOW!

getting 1016 for days now - just got really bad I followed the suggested step - which takes forever by the way. No help - only having problems with diablo - no where else in the entire house.
