Book of the Dead: Necromancer Builds & Guides

Necromancer
Nice compilation! I guess I should update the Spacebar with what I use now for T13 ^_^
A tip on the dfans links: dont include the text (and dashes) at the end, only include the digit number. The link will still work and wont go invalid if the build creator changes the title.

Thanks for putting this together!

Thanks for the tip, Cratic! I've edited the links accordingly.

Out of curiosity, what have you changed? I run much the same T13 setup I did before the hotfix, but with Pain Enhancer instead of Mirinae. It works well, but I think it could be improved. I've tried Wreath of Lightning for more movement speed, but I wasn't impressed with the uptime.

Current setup:

EDIT: Well, I think I just realized one way I could speed up the build. Looking at my own profile, I see I have Potency rune for Blood Rush (pointless due to Goldwrap) when I should use Metabolism for that extra charge. Whoops.
Thanks for including me in this! I'm not very active on the forums between reddit, youtube and dfans. Really appreciate the support.

Mostly just focused on PE as the passive damage to generate a corpse or 5 to start really blowing stuff up. Not quite as lazy as before, but pretty fun to snipe yellow elites. I updated the OP in the spacebar thread with more thoughts. The reduced proc coefficent on the 6pc reduced the uptime on Wreath, and it was never really much of a damage source anyways (limited # of targets, etc)
Thanks for including my Frozen Bones build here!

The only thing I would recommend including is my Cursed Bones build which is entirely based on Grim Scythe and curses - it's a pure Inarius melee build.

Please remove my forum name from the build section.

Sure thing.

The argument could be said that, "It's just a notation of the thread's author"

That was more my intention. I know that determining exactly who "created" a certain build can be a contentious issue, but I wanted to at least credit the people who took the time to write and record the guides. That said, I'm certainly not going to label a guide's author if they don't want me to.

If anyone else would like me to remove their name from a link, or take down the link entirely, just let me know.

Does intelligence buff pet damage? Or does anyone know?

Yes, Intelligence increases all of the Necromancer's damage, including that dealt by pets.
Necromancers need to push for GR 140 or are we just sitting in the dark waiting for an opportunity to pounce? I often wonder if people going exploring? Oh well! Another one bites the dust. Keep up the work and find more to combo with! I look forward to the knew updates!

Season 13 Necromancers unite to seize the glory once more!
Thanks, this was helpful.
Hi Wordmaster.

Any chance you can organize the builds according to strength and utility along the lines of what I did in the Barb forum? For example: https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/20752500376

I'd like to learn more about Necro builds, but I have no idea which is hard to gear, which is stronger than which, and what the pros and cons are for each. I don't even know how the builds rank when compared to one another. This guide is great, but trying to sift through the different links, videos, and other stuff is a serious chore.

Hi Free! I'd prefer to keep it organized by skills used, but I added a brief description of the current meta to the builds section. The most powerful solo GR build is Pestilence Corpse Lance (although Blood Lance can also push very high). Rathma DPS and support Necro work well together in Rat Runs, which I know you're already experienced with.

Other than Skeletal Mages and Corpse Lance, there are lots of fun builds, but nothing very competitive. Inarius Poison Scythe can clear 100+, but not a lot of people play it. As for which builds are easiest to gear, I'd say they're all roughly equal. The Necro doesn't have a lot of item diversity. Pestilence and Blood Lance, for example, are pretty much the same build except for the set and Lance rune they use.
