[-GR70-] Rift Clearing Necro Competition

Necromancer
Which gear and skill setup is the best in GR70?

Rules:
1. Clear 10 subsequent GR70 Rifts.
2. Pick up legendaries and upgrade your gems.

* - you can id, sell, salvage, stash them after. Just be quick about it.

After some thought and consideration, there is no need to track total time. Only rule is that they must be 10 CONSECUTIVE RIFTS. So track each individual rift clear time (shown in the chat window and on screen) and provide an average clear time.

We all know there is a lot of RNG involved in rifts so the requirement of running 10 in a row is there to slightly even out the odds.

When you post your result, please include the following information:
> average rift clear time (minutes and seconds)
> your build
> link to your character
> description / explanation of your setup

This is a friendly competition for those who may lack the motivation to play these days or are tired of running T13. GR70 rift clearing is still a somewhat relevant metagame for grinding gems up from 1-60.

Good luck and have fun.

This one will be more fun I think. I'm not a fan of boon+goldwrap setups, and at 70 it's just a bit harder to squeeze in in-geom efficiency.
I actually feel like 70's are a great difficulty choice for this kind of competition. Most can do it, and efficiency of build is key. You can't use Gold Defense, and you can't swap gear mid-way.

Think I'll give this one a whirl tomorrow :-D
Sweet, this is way more my style :) I recorded my run!

Actual clears for each rift are below but I'll have to see what it actually is when I include the gem upgrades and town stuff (that stuff stressed me out more than the actual rifts haha). No truly great rifts, honestly, but only a couple kinda meh ones so I guess it could be worse. No deaths. I may give it a second go but I haven't decided yet. I'll be uploading the entire unedited run within the next day or so.

I used my Inarius LazyStorm build. I'll be doing a video guide soon, but I've got a detailed written guide on Diablofans.

Alright, the full time when including the non-rift stuff was 54:27 :(

I was identifying stuff, salvaging stuff, spending shards to not cap out, salvaging that stuff...
I did it in 1:37:16.87.

Some caveats....

I did it in Season and was only Paragon 633 when I started and ended up with 653 when at the end.

I haven't ever in my entire time playing this game built a speed Grift Build. So I just went in with my Grift Pushing build that's built around Gift of Death mages and Rathma's set.

Also, the highest Grift I've done so far this season was 75 for the Divinity Conquest which I just got yesterday, so my gems are kind of on the low end.

Now for the build....

I guess it plays most like the Archer's build but substitute Gift of Death and Replaces the generator with Devouring Aura and the Life from Death Passive.

Here's the character....

My gear is far from optimized like my hellfire amulet has a completely useless passive on it but it's the best I have for the time being. I also only have two caldesan's. One a 60 and the other 53. One was thrown on for the step in the Journey and the other was just for the heck of it.

My gems are a 72 Esoteric, 73 BotT, and 73 Enforcer.

At any rate, I don't expect to win any speed competitions but I did do each Grift in somewhere between 8 and 10 min. The rest of the time was spending shards, identifying and salvaging gear, upping gems, and deciding what to keep.
Err... wait no. I had a whole extra rift in there for the 54:27 total haha. I actually did 11 rifts (the 11th was 4:04) not 10. Turning in the 10th I was at 49:32 so that's a little better at least.

I've added an "Average Clear time" metric to the competition. I think the original "add all inbetween time" worked more for T13, so may consider ranking according to the average clear. Only caveat is that they rifts must be CONSECUTIVE, so we don't have people cherry picking rifts and submitting their 10 fastest out of 200 rifts haha.

(video proof is always recommended for "top" times, or if you want to show off how lazy/fast/awesome your build is)

Okay cool. Yeah, I definitely like having that in there. I was honestly sweating bullets between rifts because I wanted to still get the normal down time stuff done but was really rushing to do it.

The video's uploading now and should be up in about 3 hours.

I know that I could do faster, simply because as I said there weren't any really good rifts the entire time (I can usually do them in about 3~ minutes on a good rift) but eh, the time's still pretty good and it was fun so it's fine :P

Singularity rune will help you much more than the one - two extra corpses. You can hit for 100b-600b with minimal effort, which results in mowing down mobs pretty quick.

I've used Singularity before but I don't have a good Haunted Visions amulet. When I do get one, I'll switch. Or do you think, that the amulet is only necessary if your pushing really high?

You don't need to run simulacrum to run singularity mages, and you don't need the amulet to run simulacrum even. The simulacrum build times Sim and land of the dead together for large damage bursts. You don't need that until 95+ most likely.

Singularity mages even with out simulacrum, will hit harder than any other mage runes, by 10x or more dps.
I decided to run it again with my Singularity build from Non-Season, because my Season character just isn't geared enough yet for this challenge.

As you can see, I ran into some bad rifts and monster combinations a few times in a row, but I don't think I did too bad.

Augmented a couple of pieces of gear because my Rathma's set didn't have any before I started. But only with gems I leveled while running these specific rifts.

Non-season entry!
I usually run with Aquila Cuirass so I can pay less attention while rifting and just bind CL to mouse up and CE to mouse down and just flail my way to the end of the rift. But for these runs picked up the CL shoulders to reduce Juggernaut hump-time and may have died once or twice during these 10 (#sad). I usually only use LotD twice - once at the start to try to avoid death before 15 bone armor stacks, and then at the RG for a quick kill. Build-wise I'd like to someday fit in Fueled by Death + Stuearts. The build doesn't really have any RCR or CDR requirements (metabolism and low LotD usage) so I prioritize +2 pickup radius on most of my slots. This is because I absolutely hate picking up progress orbs in solo GR, and it helps BriggsAura. I also have +IAS in a few slots (WH was only belt I had with +2 pickup) that doesn't do anything but inflate sheet dps... I just don'[t have any better alternatives at the moment.

Very impressive! Well done!
i dont understand why its tricycle necromancer.... cause where does the cold dmg come from? i thought inarius bonestorm is whatever element is highest based on your gear bonus (ie ammy) , not your ring itself.

The bone storm is the element of the rune used on Bone Armor. If you have Lost Time equipped, you can walk right up to an enemy with the bone storm going and apply the slow/get the speed buff if you're using Harvest of Anguish. Frostburn also works with it at that point.
