"diablo 3 was unable to retrieve necessary data. please check your network connection." got this message and I can't start the game. Please help.

There are several things that could cause not able to "retrieve necessary data". The basic and advanced steps here should help get Diablo III updated and get you back playing.
I was on chapter 7 the last time I played Diablo 3(season 11).Now it says i completed chapter 4. Whats up with that?

It did not solve the problem. I already set it to automatic. I still can't log in to diablo 3 for the same reason. Any other suggestion? this is the second time i experienced this issue. The first one was resolved after i clicked the scan and repair option. However, this time it didn't work. Please help.
