According to a CNBC report and Goldman Sachs, Activision has SOMETHING Diablo related in the pipeline for 2018-2019.

Whoops, lol...Didn't see the others
Unless they bring back Bill Roper & Co then I'm not interested.
I have no doubt that d4 is being worked on, perhaps only concepts at this stage but they're working on something.
So u really think they would let Diablo 3 die so they can make a 4th ??

That makes no sense at all...

We the players have no idea what they are working on, but it appears they are working on something and that makes a lot of sense. Diablo 3 will be 6 years old in May 2018. The Diablo franchise will live on, we just don't know what form it will take, PLEASE NO MMO!
lineage eternal sounds cool, i'm hoping d4 does something even greater than that.
No, Diablo is done ^^

People keep saying no MMO without understanding what an MMO is and how much different it can be from common perception.

What if D4 as an MMO had this:

1 - A massive open world
2 - Interactive player hubs with trading of all things such as mats and gear
3 - An immersive open world pvp system with proper flagging mechanics
4 - 4 player dungeons as we see them now
5 - 8 player greater dungeons with harder challenges but better loot
6 - Deeper character optimization than any ARPG known to date
7 - Reputations earned by killing different enemy factions unlocking gear options as well as unique dungeons and storylines, maps, etc...

Those are just a few things spit balled off the top of my head. But all because it has the tag "MMOARPG" does not mean it needs the aspects of other MMO's that deter people such as monthly subs or weekly content locks.

As long as it has a solo feature, I get frustrated running with 3 others in a group, let alone 30. I would like a darker tone, revamp follower system, deeper lore, and more build options. I am not into trading, I want to work for what I get not have people give it to me. Trading is nothing more than a watered down AH.

I really don't care about 4-8 players, nemesis system or reputation or open world or anything. I want an single player game where I can enjoy the game in my own pace. And MMO always have some "special-dungeon-only-drop" that can't be archived during solo section. The concept of D3 right now, just like D2, is perfect for me. Please no MMO.
No

Agreed! The need for group play, particularly to get the best items, is something I don't want in my RPG. I love that I can pick up or put down Diablo any time I want and don't need to rely on anyone else. It is my farm mobs and relax game.

I would not care if it was an interactive world type game, but I would want the rewards to be achievable solo, even if group is an option for those who want it.
Agreed. WoW already exists for my MMO needs (can't afford to subcribe right now, but I have in the past and plan to again). I play Diablo single-player. Speaking of which, the biggest improvement D4 needs to deliver is offline mode.
I do not believe in Diablo Sequel before 2020. D3 expansion would be a great surprise but it's also like 10% chance of actually happening.

D4 in 2020 or later: 50%
Something Diablo related 2019: 40%
D3 Expansion 10%

Same. This is already in the game though.. you need to group up if you want the highest level gems and paragon.

Personally, I've always thought they made it this way as another reason to justify always online one of the design philosophy is "Make online matter". But it is arguable whether making group play more rewarding makes for a better game. I've always found solo more fun for this type of game because I can just do whatever I wanted and not what the group wanted and didn't need to worry if I was pulling my weight etc.

I agree with you. I view Diablo as a single person game that had multiplayer added on. Cool, but don't devalue my mode.
