Extreme Lag Spikes

Technical Support
I'm getting extreme lag spikes every few minutes while playing Diablo 3. All non-Blizzard games and services run normally on my end. Here's the MTR report from around fifteen to twenty minutes of playing.

Average latency hits triple digits once the data is being handled by servers ae1-br02-eqch2.as57976.net and et-0-0-3-br02-eqla1.as57976.net (that 3k latency).

I don't think the issue lay with my home network or ISP, I'm having these exact same issues with World of Warcraft and MTR report shows similar behavior- High average latency with the highest spikes at Blizzard's end.
Howdy Deatherknite,

Looking over the MTR I see the issue actually starts at your location. At your modem you have 2% packet loss and spikes of MS up to 231. If you are currently wireless I would suggest hardwiring. If that doesn't work or if you are wired please try the steps below to see if they help with the over all connection, if they do not I would give your ISP a call so they can address the issues starting at the modem.

DNS Flush

Powercycle

Driver Update

Close Background Applications
Thanks for the response Joy, giving Wired connection a try, powerecycled the router, already running most updated drivers. I wanted to slay digital demons, not literal techno-demons.
Tried playing for a bit, ran into a different type of lag issue where instead of one big massive spike I would have constant stuttering and rubber banding. Went into Windows currently running services and disabled everything related to One Drive and other "Sync to Cloud" services and things started to run smoothly, except for one big spike but Event Viewer shows that Windows installed an update for Windows Defender and after that things ran smooth again. With any luck this holds out. Thanks for the help!
my diablo 3 game is running but my character is not moving and none of the features work in the game
