58k Dislikes vs 2k likes in couple hours. New YT negativity record incoming. Need I say more? I still feel sorry for Wyatt.

Activision pulled killing blow on the series.

Edit: 60k 2 minutes later, Blizz deleting comments there

LMAO this is pathetic.
LMAO.... As expected. Blizz is dying guys.

The only good news is the Warcraft 3 Reforged. Apparently they are trying to revive their legendary days, but this diablo news will kill their joy for them lol.

They also gifted Destiny 2 out of no reason lol. Not gonna install it at all. I am off to my Warframe and slash some space junk with my endless mod combinations.

Peace out.
:(
Push a re-skinned mobile game to milk the Chinese market and maybe squeeze some of that sweet DLC and microtransaction money out of NA and EU consumers? Treat its player base like an exploitable herd of wallets just waiting to open for any garbage they pump out? Use the biggest platform at their narcissistic gathering of fetishists to reveal a hack job?

Gee, guys. Don't want to say I told you so, but . . . https://gph.is/1maCYyB
The irony is if they had announced this in Asia first it would have been well received and possibly generated a little "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" interest here. This game clearly is not aimed at the US market nor what their most ardent fans wanted as evidenced by the lack of applause during the reveal and out right boos during the Q&A.

My other take on it is "market research without context". "Sir, forum metrics and analysis show the following trending terms in GD, reddit and elsewhere; mobile, MMO and micro-transactions..."

And here we get a game with all three.
But will it be available on Windows phone?
Ouch...

I really hope they grasp how badly this flopped amongst the most ardent fans of the company.

Your instincts about a cash grab were dead on but I think this is lower than even you expected.
81k dislikes, gonna hit 100k within couple of hours. 3000+ votes on petition to cancel that project, in couple of hours.

Yes, but not unexpected. It was given that it will happen at some point, but i REALLY hoped for this to be announced along with something Diablo PC related. Than, it would be probably taken completely differently. It is corporate buisiness at its finest, Wyatt actually cried backstage after that "welcome" received from people in the hall. Fluffy asked question about this coming to PC, after Wyats answer hall went "booooo". One dude - my new hero - asked if this is a form of out of season April fool's joke ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYl5fgP3mWo ) received with applause.

Nothing wrong with expanding the market, everything wrong when this happens at expense of current customers.

Look at the "lines" of people that wanna try that Immortal demo at Blizzcon:

If this is not sending the message, I don't know what is.
Well it's not aimed for us, everything would be fine if they just release it in Asia and maybe do some reveal in here too, but announcing it in front of their most die hard fanbase at Blizzcon? That's definetly not right.

I can't really blame them for wanting to expand into Chinese mobile gaming industry where are hundreds of millions players.
Almost "Bad Lip Reading" level of zing:

Quoting this here since there is so much going on in GD:

The trailer for Diablo Immortal has reached 100k dislikes, that was accessed from Bnet launcher.

A new unlisted trailer that is identical to original has been uploaded and is the new link from Bnet.

did they do this so it doesn't reflect the dislike and negativity...?

all i can say is "F"
Diablo community gave countless quality analysis of potentially successful future Diablo game. How to bring back the RP part of it and make it replayable like D2 is. Many people who sincerely love this game offered free help. But they just don’t learn. Completely blind.
I’ve had enough of it.
The day Classic WoW launches, I’m out.
Also, poor Wyatt. He and his folks were not prepared for this. He looked so lost when there was dead silence after the cinematic ended. And after he got boooed he totally lost it. Tried to laugh the way out and made it an utter fail.
Maybe development of this monstrosity is not his fault and Wyatt is just a stage scapegoat, but in my opinion, after today’s performance, he should just resign to save his reputation. Otherwise he’s going to attract negativity to every future project that has his name on it.
Not sure on that. Lot of the typical "developer arrogance" from him over the years.

"You think you do but you really don't"

"We can't give you more because you'll want more"

"Do you guys not have phones!?"
I'm so sad.
They lost touch with reality and gaming. They had every chance of making tons of money on a good new product or remastered D2 and they chose poorly.

Wyatt took the heat when in reality the decision makers behind the scenes are to be blamed...
LOL, a mobile game.

At least we have D3, it has become a really enjoyable game what, six years after release?
would you like to see a release between a well comunicating dev team and the players? A company making load of money in completely free to play game? A F2P concept similar to PoE? Watch this Diablo dev team: https://youtu.be/c3rdnbj0FgE

We are out of here already. Leave this ship guys...
