What if they buff LoN even more

General Discussion
And make it non-set builds more important/fun for the end-game?

Imagine that, they add more legendary powers to legendary items that dont have it, make LoN for every legendary item increase damage by 500% and every ancient you have another 500%. That means 1000% for every ancient item in your inventory slot.

Dunno if anyone came up with it, just sharing my thoughts for more varierity in the game.
Nice it happen but it never came.
Which were top LoN clears in PTR?
Not really viable because LON Condemn would probably rule everything.

They'd have to nerf the Condemn Sword and/or Shield then, but AFAIK they never nerf anything, which is really dumb and makes it much more difficult to balance properly.
You don’t have to buff Lon even more. You simply need to make it base line so you can use rings that double or triple it’s damage plus dr if needed.

Lon locks you out of 2 rings which is pretty much game breaking. There are so many class rings that simply are needed for damage or dr to push end game. But Lon you out of them. So in the end you get 1 choice which isn’t enough.

Lon is a great idea but it’s time to take the buff and make it a passive. As long as no set items are equipped you get the buff.

Thats a great idea....+1

Now lets hope that Blizzard "hear us". ;)
Or pump the damage and add effect: 'Renders set bonuses useless'

And people is saying this since they introduced us the concept of LoN, yet, they never have changed it, no matter how awesome it would be.

At least, now we have another point, since they aren't adding any new item to the game, they don't need to be worried about how this buff would interact with new items.

I think that if RoRG buff was cumulative and they made LoN a passive buff we could have a really different and positive season.

A Nice buff to the LoN would be a nice twist on not relying on sets for your major damage, but as you stated they would need to add a lot more effects to legendary items because sad truth about 80% of legendaries are straight garbage.

they've made a lot of nerfs

a
lot

iranius teardrop build
wiz tornado build
the mace that popped out red globes: nerfed
they nerfed the generator monk build

basically any super build that we liked that they didn't intend to be great: nerfed

in the olden days, when players found sweet mechanics in game (emergent behavior) that devs didn't intend, the devs were like "that's amazing! let's play to that!" think rocket jumping in quake. with d3, they say "you can only have the fun we want you to have because someone will complain" but someone always complains either way

LoN as passive would be an overkill i think :D but making a legendary ring with that passive and cubing it could also work.
Look at the general damage bonus of sets, Tal Rasha is 12,000%, Immortal King is 4000%, Inna's is 15,000%, Inarius is 3750%..

See the issue here?

LoN cannot be balanced as long as Legendary powers aren't balanced.

When one class need around 15,000% to function and another 4,000% - it cannot be matched.

If they were smart they would have moved those multipliers out on the legendaries, so that the global multipliers was equal across global damage sets.

If the end multiplier goal is 100x, you can go 12.5x4x2 or you can go 8x3x4.25. But as it is now, the numbers are going in all directions.
They would need to add more skill buffs on unused legendaries. The best way to go about it would be to only buff skill that the sets don't already buff
I always disliked the set design, If I where to code it sets would be overall weaker than a well pieced out individual load out. Instead they would be much easier to obtain to be a solid foundation to slowly be replaced as the much harder to find (better) gear can be obtained.
