Help with graphics card

General Discussion
My computer broke down and I want to buy a new one. What are the best NVIDIA I can get to play Diablo at its maximum level? I am aware that this game was released almost seven years ago. I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money, but I want something that can be really good and not that expensive. Thank you guys! :D
Anything above a 500 series would be fine. You could buy a used card for a great deal, or pick up something like a 950-1050 or higher if you are looking for a new card and want to be a bit ahead for other games. You don't have to go crazy money unless you plan to play some really cutting edge or high graphic demanding games.

For reference, I ran a GTX 580 card and it turned a solid 60FPS in 90% of the areas with max quality settings.

Good luck!

Game on.
Lol
Did I read that for real?

Dude, Diablo 3 is a game from 2012, any graphic card you buy now will run that at maximun quality. Care for new games, not for old and forgotten ones.

but yeah, get a nvidia because AMD sucks. I lost my RX490 last month and spent half of it's price to change the chipset. One year after I have bought it.

Theres no such thing as RX 490.

If anything AMD has better price/performance ratio in the 'budget' range atm considering a 1050 Ti is almost the same price as a RX 570 4G which is fairly stronger.
Snapdragon 845
I have a GTX 1050 Ti using the Geforce experience optimal settings for D3. Works great.
You could probably run D3 on an APU like Ryzen 5 2400G and forgo a graphics card all together.

I would recommend GTX 970. It's slightly faster than 1060, but the price tag is way lower. about $120 on ebay. It works great for 1080p monitors. The thing I like most is that the fan is silent. You can turn it down so low because the heatsink is so good (I'm using EVGA).

Ofcourse, if your wallet is loaded, 2080 ti is the fastest GPU that money can buy.

Also, 970 isn't future proof. If you plan on playing the latest games, it wouldn't max out the settings.

In truth, no card is future proof.

I have an Asus GTX 980 Strix. Coupled to an Acer Predator G-Sync monitor. D3 actually plays worse if that's possible than it did on my older Acer HDMI connected monitor.

However, OW plays smooth as glass at 144FPS. :D Granted I don't have the settings maxed, but I don't need them high to shoot at people. hehe

Game on.

What is your budget?
If you can afford get an RX 570 - outperforms a 1050ti by miles and can also be used for new games as long the resolution aint higher than 1080p.
I am still running a NVIDIA GTX 560ti on a core2duo machine with 4 gig memory on full.. Just make sure minimal stuff running in background..

I have been known to accidentally leave Firefox browser open while browsing and it still plays fine..

The only program that will cause issues is openhardware monitor so I shut it off while playing

Hope this helps

OS: WIN10/X64 1809
Build 17763.195

Edit: update to 4Gig memory

Buying budget? Consider GTX1050ti a low budget card, then 1060 6g, 1070, 1070ti, and up. Quite a few cryptocurrency miners are liquidating video cards. Check eBay for new/used video cards. Local miner is selling EVGA 1070 FTW2 $250 each and EVGA 1070 Black Edition $240 each on Craiglist.

Monitor specs? Supports G-sync? Resolution 2160p, 1440p, 1080p? Connectivity HDMI, DP, DVI, VGA? Refresh rate 60Hz, 144Hz, 240Hz?

There are quite a "Gaming PC" online guides.

The 970 is about 10% slower than the 1060 on average. The 980 is slightly faster than the 1060.

I wouldn't recommend a 2400G for a 3440x1440 even with sync. It will be at 30fps or thereabouts and the gaming experience is not fun.
I have a ps4, &+#& graphix card upgrades..
Get something that will support other games too. Right now the GTX 1070 TI is on sale for 360$ and is a heck of a deal

Hmm.. I guess the new drivers made 1060 faster now.

Either way, the OP seems to be on a budget so I think he would prefer to buy the 970 which plays D3 at the highest settings and only costs $120 compared with 1060 for $200.
I have panoramic monitor 2560 pix + GTX 1060 3Giga and of course I run D3 in full 2560 pix. Game looks fantastic - you see much more than others people with standard monitor. Game keeps 90-110 frames/sec.
This card has really reasonable price.
