Legendary Potions Bugged?

General Discussion
The update says you don't need to have them in your inventory anymore, but that's so not the case...

I can change them by right clicking the potion icon on screen like it says, but they are still required to be on my person. What gives blizzard?
The description in the patch notes is a bit misleading. The potion icon on the action bar now serves as an item slot for potions. Thus the legendary potion you carry around no longer takes that one square of space in the inventory.

You do carry only one potion at a time, right?

Starting with Season 16 potions will no longer be kept in each character's backpack - the character inventory.

All potions will be kept in the account wide stash, and in order to equip those for each character, they will be dragged onto the potion slot of the belt for each character. That means one potion can serve every character on the account. The potion remains in the account wide stash, and it is equipped by slotting it on to the potion slot of the belt.

To recap:
  • Potions will not be kept in individual character backpack inventory.
  • Potions will be kept in shared account stash.
  • Potions will be equipped by dragging them from stash onto the character's belt potion slot.
  • Potions will remain in the shared account stash, and will be available for all other characters to use.
  • Potions will not stack, each potion will use one square of the shared stash inventory, so potions that appear with variable power values will still be stored and equipped separately.
It's not true. The potion is stored on the character. If you drag a potion from your stash to the skill bar the potion is removed from the stash.

Potions will remain in the shared account stash, and will be available for all other characters to use.

This bullet point is unfortunately incorrect. The only difference between before the patch and now is that the potion is now carried in the potion "box" on the action bar instead of the character's normal inventory. It is removed from the shared stash when dragged and dropped on a character's potion "box" just like it would be if it was placed in a character's normal inventory.

If he doesn't he's a potato.
Lol so why the rate downs then if I'm right? It's not working as the patch notes state, they don't stay in the stash for everyone to use like they're supposed to.

Legendary Potions are no longer stored in player inventory and can be accessed or changed by right-clicking on the potion icon in the action bar

Odd, I just looked into this. Here is what I see.

If you haven't used a character yet, but had a leg potion in the inventory that was "equipped" then when you first run that char on 2.6.4 your status bar shows a normal red potion equipped instead.

Now you can equip a potion in two ways:

Directly - drag a potion to the status bar potion slot, it disappears from wherever you grabbed it from and if there was a legendary potion there previously then it swaps to whatever location you grabbed the new one from (stash or inventory).

Quick swap - right click on the potion tab in the status bar and you see as options the normal red potion (always), any leg potion you have equipped, and any other leg potions in your inventory. You can select whichever you want to equip it. If you are going from normal to leg, then the potion is sucked into the status bar. If you are going from leg to normal then the leg is returned to your inventory sorted as if you picked it up from the ground (or probably dropped on the ground if no room). If you are going leg to leg, then they are swapped between status bar and inventory.

Either way, the leg potion in the status bar is not a virtual copy - it is the actual potion stored there while you have it equipped.

Player inventory.

Not stash inventory. STILL. Misleading and badly worded. Maybe their universal translator is broken.

Essentially treat potions as you would any other piece of wearable gear. THIS is how it currently works and you will be fine.
