Error code 1021 - Can't connect to the game

Technical Support
Since yesterday I can't connect to Diablo or any other Blizzard game. The error happens in the first of 3 steps (Connecting to a Blizzard server). Other games work just fine.
Hey, GaBPC! We're seeing an increase in connectivity issues with most of our games and Cablevision Argentina. Would you be able to try a different connection like a mobile hotspot or tether and see if this works for Diablo III?

If it does work, this does point to local network or connection routing issues. We're tracking this issue on our end if you could include a WinMTR test for 5-10 minutes while trying to connect to our servers.
Well, now it's working with Cablevision and mobile hotspot, so I think it is solved. Thank for answering.
Had same problem and tried with cellphone 4g... got to enter game now and swaped back to ethernet.. works fine now.. still got older problem of cant see seasonal progress and missing! on the achievements panel.
same problem... i have Cablevision Argentina..

como hiciste para poder ingresar???
Entré con Internet móvil y después volví a conectar el cable de red y salió andando solo
i already fix the problem, i got the solution here:
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/topic/20743725450

I followed this steps and my game fixed:
1. Open Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network Connections
2. Right click on your network adapter -> Properties
3. Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 -> Properties
4. Check "Use the following DNS server addresses" and put 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 there

The problem was solved, but thank you very much for the quick response!
Thanks Dami! We found the Google DNS working around the issue about 2 days ago with StarCraft II as well which appears to be working across the other games experiencing this issue.

I did want to go ahead and update this thread as well! We've made some changes on our end which will hopefully help with any loading or latency issues without the need for Google DNS. If anyone wanted to try testing this out and see if it helps!
Any word on a permanent fix? I know it's technically not your responsibility how lame ISPs get to be under a virtual monopoly... but it is your business.

EDIT: I did the mobile hotspot trick to log in and reconnected to my usual network afterwards. It disconnected me, but I could log in normally thereafter. I got a popup from Windows Firewall somewhere along the line, even though I'm using ZA.

The usual suspect, perhaps?
Hey, SavvySage! The latency issue with connection routing through Milan, Italy has been resolved, which should help with any latency issues with our games.

We have seen hotspot and switching back help some users, but not everyone. It's a bit odd that it prompted the Windows Firewall after switching back though. I'm guessing some things were reset after switching back that it prompted permissions through the firewall after. - We'll add this to our tracking, thank you!

We're seeing positive reports as of recently. If anyone else is running into this issue, please try powercycling and flushing the DNS before hand.

As for the ones with persistent issues and where Google DNS does work around the issue if connecting to the game is the issue, the problem would be with the Provider's DNS service or configuration. There is no control on our end for the Provider's DNS service, the most we can advise is using a third party DNS service like Google DNS is resolving the issue for the most part for Cablevision Argentina users. If the third party DNS works and a mobile hotspot works, this will need to be redirect to the Internet Service Provider to address the DNS concerns.

Since we are not customers of Cablevision Argentina, our support and communication with the ISP is limited. We can only advise for the customers of Cablevision Argentina, to contact the Internet Service Provider over the DNS issues.

We are still continuing to track and monitor the issue, but there are limitations on what we can change and do on our end. Hopefully, this provides some insight and resolutions if there are any issues after :)

I done all your sugestion but it not work. still error code 1021. :)
@Lucas, both of the Milan, Italy and Cablevision issues were known issues during the time this thread was created, some resulting in the Error 1021.

The issue with 1021 will be different in this situation since both of these issues were addressed, could you start a new thread with a WinMTR test while attempting to connect for 10-15 minutes?
this my test. i don't know how to send file to you.
then i open it.:)

@Lucas
Try running WinMTR for 10 minutes, while playing D3.
Closing this thread as the original issue with Cablevision as resolved. Please be sure to make a new thread as requested by Caterpepi with the WinMTR results. Be sure to run the test for about 10 minutes.
