Aus/NZ General Discussion

We can see from the feedback in many threads here in our forum, that in some cases, latency has increased, which is the complete opposite of what we want our players to experience in Sanctuary.

Please bear in mind that some of the issues you may be experiencing are not necessarily specific to this region.

I had previously posted that we are working our absolute hardest to address these concerns as soon as possible and nothing has changed in this regard.

In the interest of identifying trends, such as routing issues, I would ask that those who are affected by high latency could provide the following details:

Region in Aus/NZ:
ISP Name:
Connection Type: i.e (ADSL)
Latency Range in game:
Average Latency:

If we could keep this thread clear and precise then this would help collating the information.

Also I want to say thank you for being patient as we work to improve latency for Aus/NZ players.
Thanks for keeping up with this.

I performed a tracert to your login servers (as requested by your tech help people) and got 139ms, so why does my latency suddenly double or triple soon as I get in the game?

Tracing route to over a maximum of 30 hops

Where is the extra latency coming from to get me 360ms in the actual game regularly?

Also am forced to join General chat just to stay in the game - if I don't do this I get booted with an error 3007 after 2 minutes, without fail. General chat is being spammed by the goldsellers non-stop, so this is unacceptable.

Region in Aus/NZ: Adelaide S.A

There is a small window late at night when most US players are sleeping that I will get a ping under 300ms. It's funny (sad) as you can watch the latency change as the morning breaks in the US and more players get online and it returns to the high range.

Of course still a lot of error 3007 too.
heres some feedback.

Region in Aus/NZ: Townsville, North Queensland
ISP Name: Telstra
Connection Type: Fibre Optic
Latency Range in game: starts at 400 up to 1200ms+ at peak US times
Average Latency: 450
Region in Aus/NZ: Perth, Western Australia
ISP Name: Telstra Bigpond
Connection Type: ADSL1 (8mbit)
Latency Range in game: 280-650
Average Latency: 330

Latency varies greatly on the time though, and will actually go up to or greater than 750ms, but this is usually in short bursts with the highest sustained lag is usually between 450-650ms.

I assume the massive spikes may be on my end with background downloads but the sustained lag I'm fairly positive is not, my guess being sever load.

My connection is reliable, but the delay is noticeable and does effect game play negatively.

When it is sitting on the lower end of the scale it isn't so bad I can deal with it, but past 350 it just degrades rapidly.

What of the US regions? Or will they get the scraps of everything, release and now fixes for the game since it is unplayable with the pings.
