Error 3005, College Campuses & Cisco NAT

Hey there Blue,

I am a student at Northern Illinois University with a residence hall capacity of over 6,000 beds. The university utilizes Cisco NAT Clean Access Client. As a result all of these students in the residence halls and those utilizing NIU's public wi-fi are also unable to log into the game by nature of sharing the university's ip address-- it is not within the control of any single student to retrieve a new ip address to attempt to log into the game. Even so, I've included a traceroute file as requested

Universities across the country utilize similar setups causing college students from across the country to be dealing with the same issues. The current protocol for dealing with "spamy" IP adresses is preventing a significant population of your customers from being able to play the game. The only mitigating factor is that most students are no longer living on campus during the summer months. Come august if this issue remains unresolved Blizzard could ostracize one of its significant publics.

Blue,

Thanks for the copy and paste. Power cycling the modem/ router as suggested in the knowledge base article is simply not an option. These controlled by the university at a central data center. If this is not the suggested course of action that was intended please give me further instruction for other options. Otherwise at least be accountable to your customer base and acknowledge the issue.

This is a lack of customer care uncharacteristic of Blizzard.

- A growingly disappointed customer
Error 3005 again and again. Purchased the game 14 days ago and got 14 days of 3005. I am trying to connect from home but I am quickly growing mad.
day 3 of error 3005 for me , ive tried nearly all the stuff on the forums etc , still no luck either
3005 error, on a university connection.
just got this game, I was so pumped...
oh the dissapointment
I was able to connect to Battle.net and play Diablo III from home with my usual ISP. Nevertheless I am now connected from outside home, through the Hotel network, and I always get error 3005 atlogging in.

Would you please indicate what is Error 3005, and what is causing it?! so I can take proper actions.

Thanks, and regards.
Unable connect to battlenet server (error 3005) using my giffgaff connection via HTC hot spot.

Highly exciting when i got this game but now fully disappointment when the result turn out like this. (sigh)

I'm a chinese here.
ok here it goes um they told us on an error 3007 to log into a chatroom general first
then make sure you dont have alot of things running in the background
tried that i was amazed to play the game all night i was even downloading a 7 gig game file in the back ground
you were asked after login to join a chatroom to stable your connection
ever notice a 3007 error right after error 3005 walla you were disconnected first
by the dreaded 3007 error and of course it gave you a 3005 because you were disconnected
by the 3007 error
Its a fun game i got lucky enough to play it all night now for a week im junk
login join a chatroom do nothing and bang error 3007 didnt even create or join a game
the error lies with blizzards sucky servers i think the know are they gonna tell you the games unplayable probbably not alot of sales at steak if the game is unplayable give massive refunds
the error 3007 is worse 30 seconds your dropped
the issue as i said is with their sucky servers millions of people log into wow and starcraft 2
no problems their its really a fun game if you can get lucky enough to play it
so until the fix their servers the game is unplayable and guess what you threw 60 bucks
in the trash i dont know if the game was tested with windows 7 not windows xp
ive tried enough to get to play the game
my suggestion take your loss on the noggin and play something playable the game was possibly released way too soon until they fix their servers and who knows when that would be the game is just more junk taking up hard drive space

my opinion

Same issue here. This 3005 error needs to be fixed asap. I was able to play using a VPN, but they all disconnect me, and i have used up my emails and free 100mb. There is no reason i should have to pay for one when i bought this game for a flat fee. This is very unfair to students on college campuses that have shelled out the money for one of the editions of this game, only to attempt to log in with a 3005 error. Blizzard, you need to get on this...not when fall semesters start in late August/early September, but now. We may not be the majority of the players, but we are still customers...especially those like me that have played D1, D2, WoW, etc.
Same thing here, opened a ticket, got closed saying I should try to prevent people at my company from logging at the same time.... yeah like I have power over 2000 people trying to login at lunch time!

They told me to send a suggestion to the programmers.... its not a suggestion, this is a bug!

I am able to connect to facebook and youtube no problem, but can't play a game I paid good money for! This just doesn't cut it for me.

I asked for a refund, waiting for the reply.

Class action lawsuit anyone? :)
i have been getting 3005 for over 24 hours!
no fix still? lol this sucks wow.
It seems this could become a more critical issue in the August. I have also been unable to play D3 due to Error 3005, on a college network. At no point in time have I ever gotten through. It is a small college, probably under 500 people in the summer.
im getting two messages a 3005 and a 3006 and i dont know why i bought the game yesterday evening and havent even been able to get on past the login screen, its extremly aggrevating
i'm trying to connect during my 3 weeks working at camp in northern canada. it was fun playing a bit on that one week off i had... but i'd rather be wasting the time while im rotting at work. help me out? help US out?
I'M NOT ALONE!!!!!!!!! @everyone who's running tracert...... they say use address 12.129.209.68. then they make you read silly hops and such but it's a bunch of BS. Why?

although i have the same connection problems i found out that for the Star Craft 2 server the address to do a tracert is 12.129.202.154 and i get the same results at D3, but when i log in..... everything works fine!!!

i played 5 missions with the same connection and not one case of being disconnected.

So really there are 2 games made by Blizzard, one works flawlessly over the same internet connection and the other........ well let's just say i told them on my ticket to stop spoon feeding that crap about the connection and the stupid results that tracert is showing.

for the record it's July 10th, 2012 and ive seen error 3005,3007,300008 (timeout) more times than i would care to count.

I hope after waiting 12 years since D2 they smarten up and fix this. this is BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!
