Better, but harder to start fights : http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#hUPQik!bYZ!ZZcbYc
With 1.0.3 out I'll start making a real guide, in the meantime here's a few tips :

- Stats priority : LoH, Crit chance, Attack Speed, Resist all, Armor, Vitality, Crit Damage, Strength.
Though you can stop getting more crit chance once you are getting enough Fury.

- To get started, use War Cry -> Battle Rage -> Leap (landing on something, or it won't generate fury) -> Sprint. Run around and spawn a few tornadoes, let your fury build up (should take a second vs packs). Use WotB if needed. Then you can start using WW.

- Bind a key to Move in the options, to avoid WW going off when you try to just move. Recommanded : spacebar.

- You should use Sprint again as soon as it's over, even if you are spinning (WW). Most of the fury come from it, you'll starve in a second if you stop spawning tornadoes. Make sure Battle Rage is always on too, or you'll stop gaining fury altogether.

- I'm using a Mace/Axe for the Crit Chance, but if you want to generate fury more easily (and do a bit less damage), use a Mighty Weapon. The +3fury/hit from Weapons Master work with Sprint, you'll get insane amount of fury. PS : Weapons Master ignore your offhand.

- If you encounter hard hitting monsters or elites with good affixes, only stay in the middle when you have the Leap bonus (Iron Impact) on. Then kite for 5s with the tornadoes, and leap in again. The defense bonus is huge, you'll tank without problem.

- Regarding keeping Wrath of the Berserker up forever : The duration won't go up if you generate fury when already full. When you hit max fury, try spending as much as you can (recast Battle Rage, cast Sprint several times) if you can.

UPDATE 14 : Gearing Guide out!

Gearing guide (buying part) : http://youtu.be/jLVsIrnBtyg
Exemple (killing triple pack) : http://youtu.be/_hAfXfHAC5Y

Sorry for the terrible accent/pronunciation :P

Focused on getting into Act 3 with the minimum budget and what kind of stats to get to survive. Might do another one about how to optimize DPS/survivability with 5 millions or something like that if needed.

UPDATE 13 : Alternative build added to the quick guide : http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#hUPQik!bYZ!ZZcbYc
It is way better overall, imo. Not putting it as the only build because it's harder to start fights, but that's the only downside.

- Overpower reflects 30% of the incoming damage. These 30% are redirected to the enemy instead of damaging you. So it's a great defense boost (just slightly lower than Leap's), that can be ON all the times if you crit enough.
- When you reflect damage, it's considered a "hit". So everytime you're damaged, your LoH trigger and heal you a bit! Effectively, you reduce damage by 30% + healing amount (33% LoH), so more than 30%.
- This turn dots into heals! Desecrator/Plagued/Molten/... (even Diablo's fire pools) damage for a very small amount, but several times a second. Each time, you are healed for 33% of your LoH, which is usually higher than the dot's damage. So, when standing in a dot with Overpower on, you heal and generate fury constantly.
- This add a bit of dps since you can often spam Overpower for non neglectible damage.

How to start fight : War Cry -> Battle Rage -> stand close to the enemies and use Overpower. If you crit, Into the Fray might generate 15 fury and you're good to go (works most of the times). Else, get hit 1-3 times, shouldn't be too much damage especially with Crushing Advance, and you should get to 20 fury.

UPDATE 12 : Killing 3 champion packs in 20 seconds with a variant of the build : http://youtu.be/5nayhzdLGKo

UPDATE 11 : Sprint's tornadoes only use the mainhand's damage and attack speed. Better focus on getting LoH, Strength, Crit Damage and/or Vitality on the offhand, which all actually boost the tornado (or you, in the case of vitality).
Getting a mainhand with an attack speed boost is a great plus for healing and fury generation.

UPDATE 10 : I recorded a full Act 3 run on my farming route (5 stacks -> Siege Breaker -> Cydea -> Azmodan)! About 45 mins.
Here's part 1 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O-XaYnRP4c
EDIT : Forgot to mention I switched WW to the Hurricane rune! (4-5 tornadoes per Sprint instead of 2-3)

UPDATE 9 : Turns out having movement speed bonus on boots is important! Get some if you do this build.
With WotB off and 9% ms bonus on my boots, if I use Sprint while spinning (WW), I spawn 3 tornadoes. If I remove the boots, I only spawn 2!

Also, I did some test on a ~15 monsters groups, and according to the healing numbers pop-ups, I can heal at least (limited by my life, stop raising when I'm full) :
~22 000 HP/second just from the tornadoes, while kitting.
~48 000 HP/second when spinning in the middle of the pack with WW (and tornadoes)

UPDATE 8 : Farming the pony level a bit : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDZ03Zm6oRE
Still a bit too hard with my gear (same as vs Diablo) though.

UPDATE 7 : I beat Inferno! :) Diablo kill : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bDxVp-GE1I
I beat Izkatu, Rakanoth and Izual solo. I can kill champions packs but didn't try that a lot yet, I'll try to farm 5 stacks later. My gear is still worth about 6 millions. You can see it here : http://i.imgur.com/KXlWy.png

UPDATE 6 : Got Azmodan (with 5 stacks) :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8GGawc-lDU

Feels like using Sprint again just before it ends make the new tornadoes appear a bit sooner, not 100% sure though. Try to do that when you can.

UPDATE 5 : I'm up to Siegebreaker, just killed him with 5 stacks. He's very easy compared to Belial, but the champions were hard : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSZwZ34LGPA

UPDATE 4 : Belial kill with dualwielding, now dies in exactly 3 minutes (all phases) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hl5X1ljsN5w

UPDATE 3 : Belial kill with the new build : (OUTDATED) watch?v=siUWVyfLF1Q

UPDATE 2 : New build ! http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#hUPXik!VYZ!bZcaYc
Ignore Pain replaced by Leap with Iron Hide rune.
- It's available way more often (4s every 10 vs 7s every 30)
- Gives a faster escape mechanism when needed
- Fix the initial fury generation issue
- Defense boost is almost the same, with my current armor anyway (Incoming damage divided by 2.36 vs 3)
The build works even better and is easier, great change.
Thanks to BaconKnight for the suggestion. :)

UPDATE : Now doing Act2, fighting 3 champions packs at a time, new video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2llurvCIkko , check video description for my stats.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oUwu46qrJM

Basically, you can use Sprint (and every spell in the build btw) without stopping Whirlwind. The tornadoes from the Sprint rune generate enough fury to keep Whirlwind on as long as there's enemies, thanks to Battle Rage rune.

Each enemy is hit like 8 times per second so the Life per Hit stat heals like crazy.
The DPS is pretty good imo.
You can use Ignore Pain while spinning if your life gets too low, and keep Wrath of the Berserker up for as long as you are fighting, so no CC problem. Blood Funnel on Whirlwind helps too.

Taking on a Vortex+Waller+Vampirism+Teleporter and a Plagued+Jailer+Desecrator+Fire Chains double pack (at 0:40) without dying, so it's definitely way better than my previous build. xD
Butcher under 2 minutes too, seems nice with my poor weapon.
Thank You for This.
Thank you for this Dino.

I feel so bored playing barb as a tank. I'm not saying that tanking is a bad build tough, it's very viable but it's just don't suit me.

I think this build is fun, and for me that's what playing game all about, having fun!
Could you post your stats?
@Doom : Which? :P
In the latest videos (gearing guide and exemple), I got 37.50% Crit Chance, 1.83 attack/second, 500 all resist, 6k armor (with Enchantress), 43k HP, 1.4k LoH and 6k DPS, all unbuffed.

@Blumpking : For some reason, Sprint (tornadoes) completely ignore the offhand DPS. ie. I can have a 500dps offhand and tornadoes critting for 8k damage, switch over to a 5dps offhand and still have tornadoes critting for 8k damage. Not sure if it's a bug or not, but it's true.
WW use the offhand's DPS for half of the hits though. But that's really a small part of the total DPS (BTW, because of all this, the Damage stat in the character screen is wrong)
882 str
869 vit
4098 armor
21k dps
1.67 atk speed
49 crit (using scoundrel)
308 crit dmg
462 - 542 resist
30.7k hp
1589 LoH

Having trouble in act 3. I can kill some elites/champs but not all. Some white mobs like those winged mollocks that fire their fireballs can hurt if they 3-5 are aimed at me. I think my resist is decent? I think I might be hurting on armor. Spent an hour or so tonight buying all the gear I have and just tried to not spend an insane amount. I think I spent under 11m, but willing to dump more gold into this build now that I have tested it out and seen it's potential. I was just wondering if anyone could guide me on what I should be improving on my build?
Dino i pretty much have the same stats as you, but as im trying to do a full a2 clear, im havin problems killin zultan kulle. he's the only one. i think he has something that negates sprint's tornados or something, because im getting like no procs off of them.

Anybody else killin zultan kulle with under 10k dps? :D
Dino, I asked on the other thread;
How do you manage to kill gobs?
Having some difficulty with Act 3/4. I can kill most elites, but I just keep dying. I have a feeling I need more armor/vit/dmg, but I am unsure as to what items I should upgrade and which ones I should keep. Any help is appreciated, thanks again Dino for the build!

Damage unbuffed: 19992 Buffed: 23799

I use the same skills as Dino and I use the Enchantress.
He doesn't, especially not with 6k dps, just skip em and kill more elite.

Inferno beaten with 6M ? It's a lie ! Diablo beaten yes, but Diablo is easy, the true boss is the treasure gob !
What do you do about Jailers? They seem to be a hard counter against this. Just skip I guess?

Try getting more EHP. Thats what made me progress from act2 to act3/4

While on WoTB you are imune to jailers.
The second part of my act III farming routine using this build is available. Begining after Ghom's kill until seigebreaker. I'll try to have better quality for the last part, still learning to use youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay-pk9GPqc4

Part 1 available here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5lulUnNk5w

I'm not doing that great of a job. Got an hard time keeping my WotB up, failed at killing gob, and got quite bad luck too. When camera is on everything goes wrong it seems ^^
But my point isn't to show you how skilled I am just to show how this build can be used for farming.

Oh, that's not the same run as in part 1, it's just the second part of the act. I stoped after killing Ghom the first time to make the video ^^.

P.S : 17min for the first part and about 30m for this one. So the entire act takes about one hour or a little more.
Health really doesn't matter at all with this build. I just dropped 7k health for 600ish life on hit and my survivability pretty much doubled.

What was your total LoH and what it is now?

Hi guys,

Running into problems with Act3, got to Siegebreaker tonight but cost me another 200k in repairs. Not sure if it's skills I'm lacking, very possible. But want to run my build past ya'll to see if I can improve in certain areas.

Str: 1515
Vit: 990
Armor: 5506 w/Warcry
Dmg: 35k w/Battle Rage
AR: 500-600
Crit: 48.5%
Crit Dmg: 265%
APS: 1.49
HP: 39k
LoH: 1439
+12% to movement

I can bump res up to about 800s with spare gear from playing sword and board, but yields same results. Any suggestions is appreciated! Thanks.

I had stats worst than yours when I first beat act 3 with my barb.
Just look to get more EHP, thats whas the difference for me between act2 and act3/4.

There are some groups that hit really hard, making impossible for you to stand in the middle of them all the fight.
What you have to do in that situation is to use lead/overpower go ww like crazy in the middle of them, than backup, use the skill again and strike... Keep doing it.

I have to do this when I face some groups of phasebeasts and those fat guys with 2 maces on arreat cratter.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have some boots with +200 to vitality on the bid... and off to the races again. Yea, I think a lot of the time I get mesmerized by the wonderful yellow numbers flying all over the screen and I'm not paying much attention to my health :/ Cmon, am I the only one? :o
