The PTR is optional. They are asking for volunteers. Nothing wrong with that. You can simply go on playing on the normal servers if that's not your cup of tea. Slave's have no choice, you do :)

That's like telling a slave...you can either work, or i can kill you with boredom. Since you have a choice, you're not a slave.

lol, of course i can also just not play, but that's not what we're talking about. I want to want to play this game...feel me?
First of all, use some internal savvy and stop bludgeoning the players with the responsibility of shaping your game...

You guys must be out of ideas because damn near everything put in the game to date has been someone else's idea. I'm sorry, but it's time to at least release the newest version of this turd and then continue polishing it.... etc etc and so on and so forth!
I'm not about to play a damn game that WIPES my damn progress... just one more time sink that these other fan-boys apparently don't notice. Yes, free testers, and R & D! You must think we are the biggest bunch of suckers on the planet... and every time you change the PTR people just keep going back and you wipe their progress... I love it! You've stooped to a new low. Release the damn patch live so we can at least BANK on what we are achieving and not this cheap "time-sink" bull!@#$! It's been weeks... disgusted with this bull%^-*!
Wait just a fricken' moment... With ALL the rants on the forums, all the well thought-out criticism and ideas given which could save this dying franchise [they are there, if you can scroll past the trolls] and THIS is the topic which the blues find to be the most deserving of their time?!No wonder this game blows...

They could start answering every single thread with constructive feedback, but then people would probably expect something happening with the feedback given, but they can't always do that! And if they eventually dont change it, people start crying again. I mean I've seen ideas about an endless dungeon, great idea.. Think designing that without bugs will be fast, HELL NO!

I just can not understand why takes so long to release a !@#!@ing patch. So now....you are happy to see those players who use to love this game selling their gears and go to play other game ?

It's not even taking that long, people are just pissed and for some reason, I should be too since the game isn't ''good enough''. But I try to act mature about this, I'm just going to wait patiently and I am looking forward to the changes. Care if my wizard gets nerfed, I'll try another build and then I'll like the variaty. I dont want the be the other guy with the OP spec, I want to have fun playing a certain/any build.
But atleast they are fixing things, but then people say.. the changes aren't any good, I want this and that to change! Well to bad they can't satisfy everyone.

I believe Blizzard is doing just fine with all the constant whiners and ofcourse they ask people to test their PTR!!
If they were to do it all by theirselfs, then it would probably take longer and then people wouldnt be satisfied that they couldn't test it.. and when there are bugs on the PTR, I guess they fix them, they want a bugfree game.. All the guys crying about that, have you seen every PTR patch notes? And there are still fixes coming I'm sure!

As cartman would say: HOW DO I REACH THESE KIDS!!!

We understand that players are eager for patch 1.0.5 to go live: we are too. Testing is well underway for it, and there’s a lot of great stuff coming just around the corner, including the Infernal Machine Event and the advent of the Monster Power System.

The best possible thing you can do to help us progress is to join in on the PTR, offer your constructive feedback, and submit detailed bug reports about any issues you may experience while playing on the test realm. These reports are incredibly valuable to us, and we greatly appreciate those of you that have taken time to play on the PTR and offer us your ongoing feedback and bug reports.

Hint: when patch 1.0.5 will come people will already be bored with it on the PTR :)
Fail is fail
There are two ways of increasing build diversity: the correct way, and the lazy (Blizzard™) way.

The lazy (Blizzard™) way simply involves nerfing the popular build, forcing players to use the less popular builds. Ta-da, build diversity is achieved.

The correct way, one that the Diablo 2 team would have done, involves buffing the other skills to add incentives to use those other skills. Unfortunately, it also incorporates a lot more testing, since you are tuning many variables, rather than just one, as in the lazy (Blizzard™) way.

Buff, nerf, blahh blah.....

If that buffing process is anything like what happened in 1.0.4 then its still lazy.

Skill is underused...lets buff the damage.

Skill is overused....lets nerf the proc rate

These little tweaks are just ...... lazy, you said it....

What they need to do is think about builds rather than just individual skills. They need to look at each class..come up with three really distinct builds, with really distinct ways to play.... and then they need to make sure that at the very least, those three builds are tuned right. Others will come along after and find new builds, or maybe even broken OP builds...

But at least if you have your core concepts in place you know how to tune the game to where you want it......its like they didn't even think about this kind of thing when they made the game.....like they never thought past 1 synergy at a time....
let them be!! if they want to take anther month of get this freaking thing right let them..... i don't want to see anything stupid like the hellfire proc pop up and then everyone going crazy when they nerf it... ptr is a great thing, we get to see how far there coming with the patch and if we don't like wat there doing we can voice wat we think... tbh i don't they they fcking listen but if they want to take there time to get it right good on them..
ptr basicly is a way for people to be beta testers just play and report bugs when found ,i wonder if they fixed that invisible bird creater in act 3 that u cant kill.i remember playing 1 time and the darn thing was a blue elite part of a group of 3,dang thing killed the heck outta us.

Translation, please do all of our testing for us because we don't have the manpower nor time, or particularly care enough about this project to do it ourselves. Thanks for saving us thousands of dollars. We will let you know when the community has found all of the bugs we created with our poor developing, no ETA.
OP +1

Ignore the the stupid PTR and quit reporting those bugs or we will never see the patch. They are creating more visable legendary items and 6+ buff icons on-screen for 3 months...

I have some issues with the patch - you've made Wizards near-useless. Fix this please.

kthx
Vaeflare, when can we expect the paychecks for our beta testing work

and I ain't just talking about the PTR

In Soviet Russia, you pay company for beta test!

Apparently its world wide, not just russia
As long as the crappy drops are fixed so people quit leaving this game i will be happy. When all you have to do is kill monsters for money so you can buy the over priced equipment at the auction house and never see anything better than what you have now in drops, I am starting to see why they are leaving for other games that are not so boring. Blizzard, you do have to give people a carrot once in awhile you know.

+1 This..
Blizz has gotten a TON of feedback, but apparently hasn't paid any attention to it..

Stop with the nerfs to popular skills, fix itemization or at LEAST the Stats on class specific items,do we really need str and dex on WD items,or Intel or Str on DH items etc? Sooo many bugs still after 5 months,we're still playing a BETA,we're testing a beta patch for a beta, when will the game we thought we were buying be out?

I don't want to hear about any expansion until this is the FINAL version and you stop making HUGE adjustments every few weeks requiring new gear and/or a complete reworking of a builds skills to accommodate the nerfs in the last patch!

Pay attention to the feedback you DO get,and act on it!!!
The only reason most of you want 1.0.5 released right now is because you're itching for something new to QQ about.

Prove me wrong.
