I like the symbols most for Piffle's, speedforce's, and jco's guides.

THANKS, i have to finish up some stuff for work, which is kind of hilarious.
I always use the non printable characters as delimiters in the files and string buffers I process.
And I seen them thrown around on the site....never put 2 and 2 together.

thanks!!!

I usually use § as an end of line delimiter and ¦ for fields in the line.

EDIT: '         '<---- 10 spaces?

▲perfect, let the formatting begin!

http://www.tedmontgomery.com/tutorial/altchrc.html
cleaned up the formatting and added a link to the alt character codes for others who need to format their guides...
also added MrMojoRisin's "Ninja" build...
I like the arrow you used by Jco's guide best. Little late here, I know.

That doesn't mean your input isn't valued :D

I'll play around with the arrows just for you! I may not go with it, but, we'll see :)

One thing to note is the "list" format of the OP. Something like arrows have the potential to add a lot of lines making the clean view of the list cluttered...
Wait, what jco guide. the S&B guide? Is there a guide not included? come on folks, help me out, post the links so I can keep the OP updated.

Shes talking about the arrow I used in my alt code examples I'm guessing. Post 121.

OH, lol...I'm hopped up on meds, hehe
I just realized I didn't use the ideal dash to make the line on the arrow. This looks much better:

───────►

Thats alt 196 for the dash and alt 16 for the arrow head.
Interesting.
I didn't know a guide-compilation thread exists.

I do have a few suggestions, and a request.

`
First of all, what do we need buff icons for?
- 1/ monks are supposed able to count the duration of their buffs, we're zen, ain't we?
- 2/ blizz excluded half of the icons on purpose, in order
to keep the mystery of the synergies in tact.

--- Now as far as the body goes,
it looks good, but some of the names need work.
For example, why is the thread that is not an academy, is getting its whole name written,
while the rest of the guides don't have their real names, but only a description?

-------------------------

Now,
My suggestion - put the guides in the order of most fundamental, to most complicated,
in this order, and change the names of their descriptions to these, epic titles.

Scrapz - Gear Basics
Piffle - Gear Advice
Nameless - Gearing Guide

and then add some space after those 3,
then,

Jco310 - Sword and Shield Discussion.
(S&B is a barbarian term, fella. Stick to the original name, S&S)

SpeedForce - Tempest Rush Fundamentals
Druin - Tempest Rush Compendium

move Druin's [1.0.7 TR effects calculations] to the 2nd section, because it's more mechanics than standard guide.

Then space, after the TR Compedium.
add one of Vyrkhyz's guides here,

Vrkhyz - Emerald and Ruby.
DEATHLOCK - Elite Affix Tactics.

then finally, I request that you put my guide at the end of that list,
and put any newer guides you find, above it.

LordRaahl - The Book of Mastery.

============================

So, to see what I'm saying clearer,
it looks like this.

The Ivgorod Compilation

Scrapz - Gear Basics
Piffle - Gear Advice
Nameless - Gearing Guide

Jco310 - Sword and Shield Discussion.

SpeedForce - Tempest Rush Fundamentals
Druin - Tempest Rush Compendium

Vrkhyz - Emerald and Ruby.
DEATHLOCK - Elite Affix Tactics.

LordRaahl - the Book of Mastery.

==================================

Now, another thing is.
I didn't know my youtube channel was being linked here, lol...

but since you did anyways,
you should know that I don't really do TR,
so don't name it "TRZero and more" even though it has a TR video.

what it is, is a video series for each of the 77 builds in my guide.
so change the name of my channel,
to its real name, "Grandmaster's Journey"
and move it, to the top of the list, of the videos.
Second weekly email sent: check.

Will it work? ... ¯\(°_o)/¯

First weekly email sent. Apparently the first week of two emails didn't work.

There will be no popcorn here!
This is an unbiased list of links from members of the monk community.

Truth is the descriptions are a bit mix matched, I been wanting to clean them up.
Organization suggestions are welcome, thank you.

Be that as it may, this IS your thread and considering the fact nobody has questioned your judgment on naming or describing the links until now, I'd hardly say you need suggestions or to make changes unless YOU see fit.

The only real change that needs to be made, is to have this gem stickied :p
I'm actually older than you, Mr Immaturity. I see you're resorting to name calling too, like always.

If you smell moldy jelly you might want to start going food shopping on a more regular basis.

As far as my self esteem, its actually pretty awesome, despite your incorrect ASSumption.
Calm down guys I think there's some misunderstanding here. Count wasn't being offensive he was just making some suggestions. gotaplanstan just calm down, I know you guys have beef with each other but no need to be calling each other out over a misunderstanding.
Seriously, put down your guns and stay constructive people!

On another (and more important note) - please help in the campaign to get this thread stickied! Three things I want to ask you guys to do to help:

(1) "like" this thread - and get this thread to "highly rated status"
(2) click "request sticky"
(3) email forum@blizzard.com and
give them your name (battletag too, perhaps), title of thread, link to thread, and request for sticky. Dunno if they need a short reason, but it probably wouldn't hurt - and do this regularly (like once a week until it's stickied).

(FWIW, I just sent my 3rd weekly email with my request).

Let's do it!
@speedforce
I just find it offensive when people try to force what they want upon others, regardless of how subtle (or passive aggressive) they are about it. I also tend to defend friends when anything they've done or are doing is in question by people of less than respectable quality.

Perhaps the past influenced my lack of giving benefit-of-doubt, but given his track record, it shouldn't be that surprising either...
--

As far as what Nameless has said, I completely agree. If anybody hasn't already taken these three easy steps towards helping to get this thread stickied, we as a community would be MOST appreciative if you would :D
