Yeah the sacrifice is a useless skill, kind of anyways. Curious to see though if it will work with Circle of life. I might abuse that to make it work if it will.

Ought to be fun. Good idea OP. will be funny to say the least.
Oh wait, so Circle of Life brings up a zombie dog even without having Zombie Dogs in the beginning, right? Wow. So Sacrifice is not useless at all for you! Plus you will have your first skill at level 13 then, although you have a 30% chance of getting a zombie dog anyways. But better than nothing. Please tell me how that looks and works for you, if at all. Now I'm curious.
I have unlocked my first rune. Yeah! That rune makes my Zombie Charger more awesome than it already is. I will have to wait quite a while now, till level 36, to get my next rune unlocked, and that would be for Sacrifice. Bah!

Speaking of which: TechJunkie, I have tested the passive Circle of Life with my SC WD, and it does create 3 dogs at maximum. That are the dogs you could sacrifice then if necessary. Turns out that your skill sheet doesn't look that bad.

Kool Story Bro ! no problem

Kinda occupied with PTR / Dueling atm
Ok the WD did not make it far will post screenies when i get back home. Got surrounded and then pummeled. With just a bow it was tough. Rolled another random and this time a monk so we will see.

Will post screens and build also when i get home.

Going to try same WD again but opting for a cold dmg bow since it is a while before i get a useable skill.
Yes, there is lots of lag today (and there was also yesterday). :/

TechJunkie:
Oh, I feel sorry that it didn't work out for you using a bow. :( First, I used a poison bow, and later, my upgrade happened to be a cold damage bow that slowed down the enemies. I remember that I had two close calls (red screen) when I was low level, like 3-7, but I had my potion ready. The trick is maybe to advance very slowly and to take off each zombie step by step that appear in the corner or at the border of your screen, plus always retreat after that. That's what I called as "kiting like a DH". I used boots with movement speed that allowed me to be quicker than the slow zombies. Later, as I had my Zombie Charger unlocked as my one and only skill, which is a close combat skill, I switched to a 1-hander and a shield. Now I use a mojo instead of a shield because I can throw Firebomb in a certain distance. Maybe that strategy works for you, too. However, choose your own gear what you feel best to go with.

How do you take screenshots, btw? I might try to take some, too.

Press print screen

for me (win7), i go to start > documents > DiabloIII > Screenshots and take it from there

Not easy to progress if you dont have a skill that you can use for 1/3 of the journey

perharps your monk would fare better than your wd ! have fun with your journey !
Yeah the monk is up to lvl 14 allready. He got lucky and had a cpl of good skills from the start. Deadly Reach and tempest rush. Makes a lot of difference. I feel he will go all the way.

I am so going for the WD again. Really enjoy the challenge though add a new level to the game. Have a SC barb that facerolls just about it all but he is optimized and built perfect. Nice to try it with a twist. Enjoying the challenge. Plus it takes the sting out of dying since you head in it just seeing if you can.
I took down Diablo. That fight took longer than expected I have to say. I even popped a potion, just to be on the safe side, as I lost like 1/3 of my health. Everything went fine so far. I basically use 2 skills only (Sacrifice is grayed out anyway, and Locus Swarm is not very mana and damage efficient).
Grats forelle,

Mad respect to you guys. Not a real easy challenge at all. Hope more come on board with it. We need to keep info on these toons and who is still going and how far they are.
just a curious question are you guys hangin longer in each zone or progressing straight through. Was just curious.
In the beginning I repeated some zones like 3 times. Now it depends. When there are few bars missing to unlock the next level or skill before a bigger fight (mainly boss fight), I repeat some zones. I noticed that I actually play with the focus to get the next skill unlocked, less to level the WD. Right now I need to wait a bit till I can use the next rune, which would be for my Firebomb. :)
Hi Wockets,

I checked the folder. Yes, there are already 2 screenshots: of my fallen heroes. :S
I will try to take some screenshots. Thanks a lot for explaining it to me!
A screenshot I took after fighting the Skeleton King:

Now Locus Swarm becomes useful since I have a bit more mana. I noticed that it is useful to cast it once in the beginning of a fight since it does damage over time and jumps onto other monsters. Plus it is good if I cast & run with an elite pack. While I'm running, swarm is doing its damage.
Latest update:

Now in Nightmare:
Beware of arcane beams

and ice orbs

(particularly their combination),
but most of all, beware of lag

Dragonsoul found a legendary!

No upgrade, though.

The next rune unlocked, for the useless skill of Sacrifice (at level 36):

However, (just two levels later) the rune for Firebomb is unlocked:

Nice idea, will be playing on EU side.

Rolled a not-at-all-too-bad barbarian skills!
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WciSfj!VUf!abZYba

So we'll see how it goes.

Just one question to clarify: I'm allowed to use the skill, even though the rune has not yet been unlocked, right ? (eg. I can pick the weapon throw at lvl14 but i can't use any other rune before i get the throwing hammer one at lvl33)
Yes you can use the skill just without the rune until it becomes available.

Update monk is now lvl13 and actually running pretty good. Will also reroll the WD tonight she is the real challenge.

Screenshots to follow.

Into Act 3 : Mortar requires me to not just snipe with my arcane torrent from far but to go close and shock pulse them !

Forelle : you are fast ! speeding through the difficulty !

Welcome aboard Damien !

Tech Junkie : I dont hang around the area . However i do clear the entire map for fun , so apparently it is enough for now ( lvl 23 going into act 3 normal)

Forelle : you are fast ! speeding through the difficulty !

Yes, I leveled surprisingly quickly so far, without Cain set, ruby or anything, only the experience bonus that comes with the gear anyway (without focusing on it). I think the reason is that I enjoy the skills I have now since there were none in the beginning. :D I noticed that I use some skills a lot, others hardly ever, even almost forget about them. I was thinking about it, maybe it is because they are not really my choice, and I stick to the skills I consider as most useful. I wonder if you make the same experience with your character. Would be interesting to share that information. Even though I have a skill, which cannot be used, I feel my WD fully useful. I have strong hopes that I could get him to 59/60, which I actually doubted as I started off with him.

And yes, I also clear the entire map and dungeons that come with it. Sometimes I repeat some parts - either because I resume the game and have to or because a bar or two are missing before a big boss fight so that I am a bit higher level with a bit better stats to make my survival more likely.

Here some screenshots I took yesterday (Nightmare difficulty):
