Thanks. I'm doing a little research with what you have sent over and seeing what is possible causing this issue. Seems like after your reinstall, this specific file is still having an issue.

I should have an update soon.
And here is the latest Agent download log

Machkhan,
Just want you to know I appreciate your help! Hopefully we find a solution soon because I am going into farming withdrawal!
:)

Checked out something else.

Can you confirm if you have the following files?

  • /Applications/Diablo III/Data_D3/PC/MPQs/base/d3-update-base-14633.MPQ
  • /Applications/Diablo III/ Updates/d3-0-14633-OSX-final.MPQ
Yes, I have both files.
Delete both of them and try launching the game again. What happens?

Reason why I am asking is cause I'm also seeing this error:

Unfortunately no luck... Same message.
Can you check to see if both files were recreated? If the were, then try deleting /Applications/Diablo III/Data_D3/PC/MPQs/base/d3-update-base-14633.MPQ but not the other one.
Both files were recreated. I tried deleting just the one and got the same result.
Thanks. I've sent up all your information to some people that work on these tools to look at the logs and see exactly why this is happening. While it is pointing to an error 2111, the logs from what I see are not indicating a read error like the error suggests.
OK Machkhan. Keep me posted i'll be standing by.
Will do. I also responded to your ticket (which was escalated to me anyways hehe). Once I hear word back from the team helping me out, I will post back. This seems to go a bit past what *should* fix this error.
Thanks!
I too am having the same exact problems. I've tried all suggestions relayed in this thread as well as a few others that I've found elsewhere. Still no good. My launcher connection starts at around 550 kb/s then tapers down to 0 in about 20 seconds. During all this the launcher is still "Initializing..." . Once it reaches 0, I receive that fat, ugly, "Failure to read file..." error. I've deleted my anti-virus, turned off firewall, reinstalled, killed agent.exe, deleted update/.tifi/.mpq/.ect, I even downloaded a few files manually online to bypass some of the process with the launcher and still no luck. Haven't had this problem until the new patch. Should I put in a ticket? This is killing me. Computer shows zero problems in any other field. Any help is highly appreciated.
Polidoro,

I will make sure that all results are posted in this thread. This is the first time for me also to have any problems with the patches or updates.
thanks man. it surprises me how deep this error goes- deleting all traces of D3 still yields no effect on fixing it. I feel like even if I were to format my comp, the error will still survive~
Just found something that may or may not be relevant. I am unable to update my Steam and unable to update some updates from WindowsUpdate... For steam, after 20 seconds or so it complains that I have no internet connection. As for WindowsUpdate, all the updates are just stuck at 33% downloading... My browser runs fast and accurately and when I download from a P2P client I notice no slow-downs, let alone failed attempts.
Thanks to SpeedTest.net I learned my download speed is 5.59 mbps and Upload is at 7.40 mbps. Bear in mind that my father-in-law in playing an online game on the same network as me right now. Before anyone suggests it, I have tried the Launcher with no other activity on the network. Same bad results. Anybody know if this could be an open/closed port issue? I would think it could be however I tried shutting my firewall down completely and still got nothing. Not sure if that substitutes opening all ports though~
Any ideas guys????
Hi Machkhan - Please provide an update. Thanks
Just an update on my end. I reinstalled windows and im currently installing Path of Exile haha. I figured D3 will work now since all other problems have been resolved but after seeing videos about PoE, im in no rush for D3 again just yet. Good luck to everyone else.
Hey TEDBOB,

I'm still awaiting some feedback from the team that is looking at your case. Some of the other reps that you've had contact with have let me know you still have the issue. If the basic troubleshooting they are providing (which I believe you have already done) doesn't work, then we'll need to wait to see what this team finds. Since it is a holiday, it may be tomorrow before I hear word.

Apologies about the delay in this.
