What is Agent.exe? Has battle.net been comprimised?

General Discussion
So I just turned on my computer this morning, I was downloading the new D3 patch and loading up Battle.net, when my antivirus software (Avira, the best of the best, if you don't have it, get it) blocked a potnetially malicious program "agent.exe."

I immediately shut down the site, let the patch download, and then I tried loading battle.net again, the same "agent.exe" file was blocked again. What the heck is going on?

If you did not get this message, you may want to either invest in a better antivirus, or run a virus scan right away.

Just a heads up.

Thank you for the heads up. I will delete and block agent.exe from now on.
you know you can just google/search any program running on your computer and find out what it is without running to the forums
It is NOT a virus. "Agent.exe" is blizzards update agent.
It's Smith. Should have taken the blue pill.

Uhhh ohhhh lol.

I was kind of assuming it....but why has it never been blocked before? I've been playing Blizz games since early 2008 never seen it o_O.

I r feel dum.
Avira probably false positived it because it's something that can reconfigure whats on your hardrive.
It's Skynet.
Avira may have updated its client in such a way it is now flagged.
Did Avira give you the choice of blocking or not blocking it?
Probably a false positive, but i'd subject it some of those online scanners just in case your Diablo install has been infected with something.

There are some antivirus sites that will let you upload a file to be tested.
