Dec 14 macOS 10.12.2 Available Hey all! This OS update from Apple includes some graphics driver fixes for Intel Macs, and additional performance improvements and bug fixes for Metal. This update can be applied through the App Store: 1. Launch the App Store from your dock, or by clicking the Apple menu and selecting App Store. 2. Select the Updates tab. 3. 5d Hearthstone crashes with rainbow graphics We're currently aware of a long-standing bug where players will see rainbow-style graphics in their game prior to it crashing out. Our Quality Assurance teams haven't been able to successfully reproduce this 100% of the time, which makes it difficult to fix. We're asking users that experience this issue to provide us with some additional information to help us in reproducing and resolving the issue: 1. What were you doing prior to the crash? How long were you playing for? 2. Is there any steps you can do that will consistently reproduce the crash? 3. Please copy/paste the contents of your player.log file and post them in this thread! Player.log can be found in ~/Library/Logs/Unity/. We're also looking for system information: 1. Click on the Apple Menu while holding down the Option key and select System Profiler (10.6.8) / System Information (10.7 and later). 2. Copy the information from the following sections and paste them into your post. Please copy in the following order: Hardware Overview, Graphics, and Software. Apr 27 Whispers of the Old Gods Launch - Known Issue Greetings, adventurers! We're currently tracking several known issues that may affect your gameplay. In addition to Known Bugs from our Bug Report Forums, keep an eye out for these troublesome tech issues below: Unable to Log In or In-Game Lag [Update - 9:45pm PDT (4/26)]: Our engineers have worked to improve login quality throughout the day, and we are currently seeing vast improvements on login successes. We are still aware of some in-game latency when performing certain actions outside of a match (accessing Play and Solo Adventures, editing decks, viewing your Collection, etc), but gameplay within a match has also greatly recovered. We will continue to monitor performance and stability as more players log in to explore the new content and claim their Whispers of the Old Gods card packs. ----- Players attempting to log into Hearthstone may experience a Playful Sprites error, or Waiting for a Table messaging. Our engineers are working on improving the login experience, but in the meantime closing the client and attempting to log back in repeatedly should allow you to enter the game. We understand the frustration this is causing, and hope to have this resolved as quickly as possible. We'll provide an update in this thread as work continues. Opening the Friend's List on Mac Causes a Crash This issue is not affecting all Mac users, however select machines are experiencing an issue opening the Friends List resulting in a crash. Our Hearthstone Mac Team is aware and working on a resolution. Hearthstone on iOS Crashing While Opening Packs Players on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod, etc) may experience a crash when opening card packs. If you disconnect or crash while opening cards, these cards are automatically added to your Collection and are not lost. We do sincerely apologize for the confusion this causes when reviewing your Collection, and are working on a resolution. In the meantime, players with alternative platforms (PC/Android) can open cards on these devices without worry. If you still are unable to see certain cards, make sure to sort/filter your Collection by Wild format. Filtering by Standard will hide all cards not currently part of Year of the Kraken. C'Thun and Beckoner of Evil Are Not Available After Login Some players may find that after logging in they have not been awarded C'Thun or the Beckoner of Evil cards. Exiting the game and logging back in will grant them to your account - while you may not see a toast notification after logging in, these cards should be present in your Collection. Did Not Receive 3 Free Packs After Logging In In order for players to receive their 3 free Whispers of the Old Gods packs for logging in, they must first complete The Duelist quest. The Duelist is available after completing the Tutorial, and is accomplished by playing 3 games in Play mode. Old Murk-Eye and Captain's Parrot Not Awarded We will be re-enabling the Quests to acquire Old Murk-Eye and Captain’s Parrot starting with the launch of Whispers of the Old Gods in your region. These Quests will be re-enabled until Sunday, May 1 at 11:59 PM PDT. We expect this to be a one-time only extension for these quests as part of our rollout of the standard and wild formats. If you have met the requirements to acquire Old-Murk Eye and/or Captain’s Parrot and have not yet received your reward, please re-log into Hearthstone after Whispers of the Old Gods goes live in your region to receive them. After the official release of Whispers of the Old Gods, Captain’s Parrot and Old Murk-Eye will only be available through crafting. 4d Please fix the mac memory crash PLEASE FIX THESE MEMORY CRASHES I CAN ONLY PLAY 4 GAMES WITHOUT THE GAME GLOWING IN ALL COLORS AND SEEING RED/GREEN/RAINBOW SQUARES OVER EVERYTHING i say memory crash because it seemed more common when I'd mess with the board (fireworks, screws and such) this has been an issue since I started playing about 2 years ago. It's ridiculous that it hasn't been addressed. I've gotten used to knowing I'll recover after a crash when timing the force close correctly or optimizing when I kill the game to prevent the crash.Tsid1 4d
5d After 3 years - Still no HighDPI Res on Mac In case you don't know what HighDPI is - HS basically looks horrible an low res on any iMac or MacBook with a Retina Display (2012 or newer). Install Windows and the game will look amazing, since you'll be able to run it in HighDPI mode. Opened a few tickets over the years regarding this, but no action was taken. 5d Game crashing on Macbook air 2015 I started playing this game on my macbook pro but after switching to macbook air I noticed that the game sometimes hangs and eventually crashes. Does this happen every time I play? - No Is this a hardware issue? - Checked it and no What Macbook I have? - Macbook air early 2015 running 10.10.3 Yosemite OS, 8GB ram What exactly is happening? - Sometimes after playing 5-6 games the lights around minions(for example the green light of active minions) change to squares or the portrait of minions changes to a mixed colour, making it hard to recognise the minions or understand what is going on. That's when I know that a crash is about to happen. This happens like once a week and its really bad. Already ruined arena for me. I see other people have this problem too, please fix! 6d Differences between graphic settings? Hi, can someone with a technical understanding explain this to me? I just recently started using Resolutionator to run Hearthstone on 2560x1600, and everything looks great fitted to my 13 in. Macbook Pro with Retina. However, when I run the game at high quality with this resolution, it lags significantly compared to on the low setting. I don't find there to be much of a difference graphically speaking between high and low. The only thing that seems to be affected is the hero plate. Is this because of extra graphical changes that the Macbook's built-in GPU can't handle? Thanks!Heroscope0 6d
Jan 13 The crash due to graphics gets worse! Seriously, while I was playing Hearthstone on Mac (latest OS version) graphics started to glitch. Instead of animation there were gradiant colors, this happens before (I lost count how many times since I play), I can force quit then get back to the game if I'm lucky. HOWEVER, now Blizard launcher says the game is still running (it is NOT), thus I cannot launch it again. Restarting (or forcing quit) blizard launcher did not solve the problem. "Reset in-Game Options" also does NOT work. Others have also reported the same issue, so it is not my mac that is acting weird. Currently only reboot my mac works, but that is definitely not a reasonable solution. What a terrible user experience!WildWolf3 Jan 13

Jan 10 Rainbow Crash Still Unresolved...Seriously? It is actually beyond a joke, I've been playing for over 5 months and the issue is still occurring. Twice in arena (in the same run) the game crashed due to the rainbow graphics bug and I wasn't able to enter back into the arena. Sometimes I am 'lucky' enough to get back into the game I am playing but most of the time now it just resets back to the home screen. Jan 3 Game crashing my entire computer I have a brand new Macbook Pro, and 3 times now, while using Hearthstone, my entire computer either froze (until a hard reset), or completely crashed. Jan 2 Resolution bug With this new patch whenever I launch Hearthstone my resolution is messed up. It seems to be "stretched out" vertically which makes everything smaller on screen (and by extension, makes the graphics much worse). My default resolution has always been 1280x800, whenever I select it again in the options menu it gets fixed but always happens again when I load the game up. This has never happened before this new patch so Im pretty sure that it's just some bug brought on by it. I talked to another Blizzard support member, he had me delete my Options.txt file then reset game settings, still nothing.Slimno21 Jan 2

Dec 30 "Accept incoming network connections" bug Hello, Since the last Hearthstone update, every time I open the application, I get a popup asking: "Do you want the application Hearthstone.app to accept incoming network connections? Clicking Deny may limit the application's behavior. This setting can be changed in the Firewall pane of the Security & Privacy preferences." I click "Allow" every time, but it keeps asking me. Also, I have looked in the Firewall pane of the Security and Privacy preferences (within Mac OS System Preferences) and Hearthstone is on the list of allowed applications. Dec 28 Game stuck on "Game is Running". I got the rainbow glitch and now I can't play the game. I force quit the hearthstone app like I usually do when I get the rainbow glitch. Battle.net now thinks it's running when it's not. I can't uninstall through normal methods either. Options -> Uninstall Game is blanked out as if the game were running. Dec 19 Client says game is running when it's not I found other people have had similar issues with the client and solved their problem by deleting the battle.net cache folder. For me this has not been successful. The 'PLAY' button is greyed out (and actually says 'PLAYING NOW') and right below it reads: 'Game is running. An update is available and will be applied when the game closes'. Only the game will never close because it's not even running to begin with. Pls help.LarryOWND2 Dec 19

Dec 15 Game Crashes CONSTANTLY!!! Okay, new user, but already spent some money on this, so yes, I really wanna play and after a few games, my game does this weird, which in my guess is a frame rate issue where when either me or my opponent put down a card, the card disappears on a long rectangular white box that goes from mine or my opponents deck, to the board. Dec 10 Game is causing Kernel Panics A couple of days ago, out of the blue, when I play the game my computer will have a "Kernel Panic" and suddenly restart. I'm not sure what to do. Dec 9 Game randomly Closes automatically just happened today, around 9.48-ishpm AUS time, I was just having my mouse between selecting between cards, and then it just closed my game (When it mentioned that you can re-open so I did that but that also crashed so i have to start over, didn't take more then 20 seconds to re-connect but when i got back to my game by turn was lost. anyone else have this problem? Dec 7 Game crashes only on certain Game Boards This has been a problem since the release of Karazhan. The game works perfectly fine except when I play on the KARAZHAN game board or GADGETZAN game board. Everything loads up fine until I hover my mouse over my hand when the game begins -- then the game freezes completely. Dec 6 Can't Install Battle.net to Computer Every time I try to install battle.net to my computer, the loading bar proceeds about 1/10th of the way then crashes. It says that it has failed to update and that i shoudl check my privacy settings ands such. I have everything turned off and all documents are allowed to enter my computer. I tried installing programs from other companies, such as RIOT games, and it seems to work just fine.IchimaruLGIB2 Dec 6
Dec 6 Fix Everything FIX THE ENTIRETY OF THE HEARTHSTONE PROGRAMMING. 1. Have servers Blizzard side collect time stamped match result data. This would help resolve many issues regarding things such as match losses due to disconnection and allow for things such as a "loss forgiven" much like other games such as LoL etc. 2. The no refund on arena loss due to disconnection policy is absolutely ludicrous. I understand the unwillingness to give cash refunds however, there is no harm in refunding in game currency. 3. If refunding 150 gold in game is too much, figure out a way to wipe a loss from an arena record. The time stamping previously mentioned will help determine wether or not the losses are legitimately due to disconnection or people just trying to cheat the system. This way there doesn't need to be the precious loss of 1.99 USD or whatever the hell an arena entry costs. It's not just about the record, maybe I really enjoyed the deck I drafted and now only get to play it twice more if those games go very poorly. Dec 4 Game regularly crashes for a second or two Sorry, I posted a while back but think it was in the PC thread by accident. Basically, everytime I play Hearthstone on my iMac, I get bad lag with the spinning rainbow thing appearing for a few seconds. This tends to happen at certain points in the game such as secrets being played or heroes exploding at the end of the game. This started with the El Capitan update. The menu in general is also rather sluggish - roughly 5 seconds from clicking a button the next screen opening. Thanks in advance for any assistance.davebaksh0 Dec 4
Dec 2 Audio channels reversed on Mac Audio channels are reversed for Hearthstone on macOS 10.12. Left channel audio plays out of the right speaker and vice versa. Audio MIDI Setup application confirms correct speaker layout. Audio receiver diagnostics confirm correct speaker layout. Other applications and games confirm correct speaker layout. Occurs with 7.1 Rear Surround configuration and 2.0 Stereo configuration. Clicking things on the left of the screen produce sounds on the right of the screen and vice versa. (e.g. history tiles in game have sound from right channel and deck lists in collection have sound from left channel - both opposite of their location in the application. No issues with iOS versions. Nov 30 Game crashes on OSX after some play time Have video issues on my MBP 2013 w/ Sierra 10.12.1 It comes when I play the game for a while (usually in 20-40 min range). Then textures' fails appear (rainbow gradient replaces the texture) and game soon crashes in a minute. Nov 27 Can't go online/connect to battle.net I'm trying to connect but I just keep getting the Error: BLZBNTBGS80000021 (3003) message. I"ve tried several times already to restart Battle.net, log out and log back in, renew my dchp lease, flush the dns cache, turn wifi on and off etc with no luck. Any suggestions?collegewar59 Nov 27
Nov 23 Won't let me join game. I'm on a mac. I have no issue connecting to anything but Hearthstone. Hearthstone lately has been stuck on the "Finding Opponent" screen for 3-4 times what is normal but doesn't offer me the cancel but to back out like it does when it hasn't found another player. If I quit out of Hearthstone and restart it I get told that I'm reconnecting to my previous game and then it stays stuck on that screen until I quit out again and leave it down for 5+ minutes. This is extremely annoying as I've just recently gotten back into Hearthstone and don't want to waste half my free time doing nothing while I try to play this game. Quick edit: I'm being forced into losses because of this. The first game I played ended as a tie. The second was a forced lost because the games claims I disconnected when I didn't. I've already spent money on this game once but when connection issues like this happen I reconsider ever spending a dime again. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?SilentStorm2 Nov 23
Nov 16 Friends list not showing up on mobile I'm playing on mobile and while it shows the number of my friends that are online, when i attempt to look at my friends list, it shows as empty while still telling me that I have x friends online. It doesn't even show my friends that are offline, instead it appears as if I don't have any battle.net friends at all. Therefore I am not able to issue a friendly challenge to my friends or spectate them on mobile. I have an iPhone currently running iOS 9.2.1 and hearthstone is up-to-date. I even attempted to log out and log back into my account but the problem remains. Has anyone else experienced this issue before? Anyone find a fix for it?Yceicle2 Nov 16

Nov 9 Frame rate lag Ever since the latest patch a couple days ago I've been noticing a drop in frame rate overtime I play a game. Typically the app launches fine but around 5 minutes into usage the game starts lagging out of nowhere. Nov 1 Can't open the game... I have just downloaded the game and was so excited to begin playing on my laptop(Mac) after deleting it off my phone since there was no space... As soon as I launch the game it pops up with "There is a problem with your server" and I have to relaunch the game again and get the same results. Oct 31 "You were disconnected" during launch When I first go to launch Hearthstone in any given day, it takes me several tries to launch Hearthstone! The first (and sometimes second and third) attempts instead yield this error message (in the game) during the launch process: "CLOSED "You were disconnected from the Battle.net service. Please relaunch Hearthstone to reconnect." This happens regardless of the connection used— I have tested it at my house, my friend's house, my university, and a local game store and it has always occurred. Relaunching is eventually successful, but it's deeply annoying in the mean time. The computer I am using is a 2011 MacBook Pro running 10.9.5. Help!Quackles3 Oct 31
