Feb 26 Unofficial Hearthstone Glossary Greetings! I made this post long ago in the general forums during beta and it never got stickied. It has since gone the way of the dodo. Well, I figured it might be helpful for folks here so I thought i'd repost it. Please post if you have any questions or see errors or mistakes I can correct and I'll happily update this. Also feel free to request a sticky since I think this can be helpful for a wide range of players. Hope you enjoy! --A-- Achievement - An in-game acknowledgement of a certain accomplishment, such as winning 100 matches or unlocking all basic cards. Each one usually offers a one-time reward. Adjacent - The minions that are directly next to a certain minion, on both sides. Arcane Dust - A material generated by disenchanting cards, or won in arena play, that is used to create new cards. Area of Effect (AoE) - An action that is applied to multiple characters simultaneously, usually without targeting any of them directly or specifically. Armor - Protection against attacks, which is removed by damage before health is lost. There is currently no known maximum value for armor. Attack - The process of having a character deal damage to another character based on attack values. Attack (Value) - "How much damage [something] deals." The attack value of a minion is displayed at the bottom-left corner, while attack values for heroes are given by weapons, hero powers, or other spells. --B-- Battlecry - "Does something when you play it from your hand." These effects only occur when a minion is summoned from a player's hand, therefore they are not triggered by resurrection effects or changes in owner. Battlefield - Middle portion of the game board, split into two sides, where minions exist once summoned. Each player can only have up to 7 minions on their side at any time. BM - Stands for "Bad Manners". Is used to refer to players who drag out a turn when they already have lethal damage, or spam emotes. BM isn't always "bad", and can viewed as playful. --C-- Card - A spell, minion, or weapon in a player's deck or hand. Each deck can only have up to 2 of any particular card in it, except for Legendaries (see Rarity), which have a limit of 1 per deck of each. Character - Term used to indicate both minions and heroes, used on card text to indicate that an effect can be used against minions and/or heroes. Charge - "Can attack immediately." This eliminates the usual one-turn delay on minion activity (see Exhaustion). Coin - A bonus card only given to the player who goes second at the start of a match. It provides one extra mana on one turn and counts as a spell. Combo - "A bonus if you already played a card this turn." Any card previously played in a turn triggers the combo, but a combo effect can only happen once and is not an additive effect based on playing more cards (unless otherwise noted, e.g. Edwin VanCleef). Controller - The player who currently has a minion on his/her side of the battlefield is that minion's controller. Certain cards let players take control of a minion, moving it from the opponent's side to their side of the battlefield. This does not trigger Battlecry effects. Cost - The amount of mana that must be spent to play a card. It is indicated at the top-left corner of every card. Counter - "A card that is countered has no effect." Currently only used by the Mage card Counterspell. Crafting - Creating cards from Arcane Dust. The cost to make a new card depends on its rarity. --D-- Damage - Removing a certain amount of health from a character. The term "direct damage" is often used to refer to targeted, rather than AoE (see Area of Effect), effects. Deathrattle - "Does something when it dies." This effect is triggered by death due to loss of health and outright destruction (see Destroy), but is lost when a minion with deathrattle is transformed (see Transform). Deck - The collection of 30 cards a player can draw from during the course of a match. It is located at the right side of the battlefield during a match, and typically includes cards from a specific hero and neutral minions. Deck Types - These are terms often used to refer to decks that have certain themes or play styles. Examples include: Rush Deck - Designed to defeat an opponent quickly, often by bringing out many small minions during the early game. Control Deck - Designed to let the player last a long time, and gain a late game advantage to defeat an opponent. Mill Deck - Designed to make the opponent draw more cards than can effectively be used, and defeat the opponent through damage and fatigue (see Fatigue). Murloc/Pirate Deck - Designed around a particular type of minion, such as murlocs or pirates, and victory usually relies on synergy between these minions. Defeat - When one player reaches zero health, and the opponent has at least one health, then he or she is defeated. A defeat rewards less experience to a hero than a victory. Destroy - Removing a minion from the battlefield without dealing any numerical damage, so the removal ignores effects like Divine Shield and Immunity. Discard - Taking a card from a player's hand and removing it from the game without it ever having an effect. This is often done if a player has too many cards in his or her hand, or due to effects from other cards. Disenchanting - Destroying a card to gain arcane dust. The amount of dust granted through disenchanting depends on card rarity, though gold cards give more dust than normal versions. Divine Shield - "The first time this minion takes damage, ignore it." It's important to note that the shield will not protect against effects that destroy a minion without dealing numerical damage. Draw - Taking a card from a player's deck and placing it in that player's hand. This is done with one card at the start of every turn, and can occur as the result of other cards and effects. Durability - A value that indicates how many times a weapon can be used to attack. Each attack typically removes one durability. It is displayed at the bottom-right of a weapon. --E-- Enemy - During a match, enemy characters are the hero and minions on the opposite side of the battlefield, owned by the opponent player. Enrage - "While damaged, this minion has a new power." Note that the enrage effect is only active when the minion has less than maximum health, and healing to full health removes the enrage effect. Exhaustion - The condition a minion has only on the turn it is summoned, which prevents it from attacking - sometimes also called "summoning sickness" by players (see Charge for an exception). Experience - An intangible reward granted to players at the end of a match. Experience is used to gain levels, and the amount rewarded to players is directly proportional to the length of a match. --F-- Fatigue - Damage dealt when a player must draw a card, but has no deck to draw from, often at the start of a turn. It is additive for each time a player must draw without a deck to draw from: 1 damage the first time, 2 damage the second time, 3 damage the third, etc. Freeze - "Frozen characters lose their next attack." Frozen heroes cannot attack with weapons, but can play cards and use hero powers. The freeze effect lasts until the start of the next turn of the player of the spell or minion that freezes the target - this means that an attacking minion that becomes frozen, will unfreeze at the start of the next turn. Friendly - Term used to refer to the hero and minions that you own on the battlefield, as opposed to enemy characters on the other side. --G-- Game Options - Different ways in which a player can play a match in Hearthstone. The three basic types are: Arena - A play mode in which a player chooses from 3 pre-selected heroes and creates a deck, one card at a time, from a random draft. Constructed Play - The term used for matches in which players use either basic decks or ones they have constructed ahead of time. This includes both Ranked and Casual play. Practice - A play mode in which a player is matched against a non-player opponent, controlled by the game itself. Game Phases - The part of a match that two players are currently in. While other games often have multiple phases that occur each turn, in Hearthstone these terms are generally used to indicate how far along a match has progressed. The three most common phases are: Early Game - The first few turns for each player, usually lasting until about the 4th mana crystal has been created. Mid Game - The time when a player has between 4 and 8 mana crystals. Late Game - The turns when a player has enough mana to use pretty much any card, usually with 8+ mana crystals available. Gold - Currency used to buy packs of cards and enter the arena (see Game Options). Gold is earned by winning matches and completing quests. Gold Card - Copies of cards with bold borders and special animations on them. They are visually different from normal versions, but are identical in terms of effect, cost, health, attack, and durability values. Continued below...Raz50 Feb 26

Mar 11, 2014 Welcome: Please Read! Welcome to the Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft New Player Tavern! Before you begin posting we’d like you to understand a few things about how to post here, what’s appropriate to post, as well as how to best use these forums. Please read and be aware of the Code of Conduct and the forum posting guidelines. These will ensure that we can all enjoy discussing games with one another. Posting To get started you’ll need a BattleTag. This is a name you choose that identifies you throughout all Blizzard games. If you currently play World of Warcraft, Diablo III, or StarCraft II you probably already have one. If you participated in the Hearthstone beta, that license counts as well. If you do not play any of these games, you’ll want to visit www.Battle.net, log in to your existing account (or create a new one), and then choose to create a BattleTag on the left. You will also need a game license attached to the account, even if it’s just a Starter Edition. If you’ve just created your BattleTag and/or attached a game license you may need to wait a short while before being able to post. Learn more about BattleTags here! Important Reminders: Search The search function at the top of the forum page is extremely effective and robust. Before you create a new forum topic, please be use it to search for similar topics, blog posts, or web pages that may contain the answer for which you are looking. Making a new thread on an existing subject can result in your thread being deleted or, if you continue to re-post the same content, the loss of your forum privileges for spamming. Rating The forum rating system can be used to promote positive discussion, demote unhelpful comments, and even report posts that violate the forum Code of Conduct. By hovering over a post you'll be presented with several options, including a "thumbs up" (Like) and a "thumbs down" (Dislike) icon. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon will rate the post up. If enough people like a post, it will gain a Highly Rated status and appear at the top of related search results. Highly Rated posts will also have a highlighted background. Clicking the "thumbs down" icon will expand a drop-down menu which will include "Dislike," "Trolling, "Spam" and "Report" options. "Dislike" will rate the post down. If enough people dislike a post, it will be darkened, and with a lot of dislikes it will be hidden completely. You can also quickly report a post as trolling or spam, or use the report function to fill out a more comprehensive description of a violation. Please note that you can only rate each post once. Use your power wisely to help foster a positive and helpful forum community. Info Follow and talk to us on Twitter @PlayHearthstone and on Facebook.com/PlayHearthstone for game news and information. Guidelines In addition to the forum Code of Conduct, here are some common courtesy guidelines to follow. While these do technically fall within the bounds of the Code of Conduct, they cover more specific examples of common errors that will lead to thread deletions or posting privileges being revoked. The Hearthstone Closed Beta forums are for discussion of topics directly related to Hearthstone. The forums here are specifically to discuss the game and related topics. Any topic not related to Hearthstone, Battle.net, or Blizzard Entertainment is subject to deletion. 1.) Don't post in all capital letters, use a misleading title, excessive punctuation, and/or non-standard symbols, etc. While everyone wants their posts read, we ask you to refrain from using these types of tactics in order to bring more people to your thread. Let your post stand on its own merit. Threads violating this guideline are subject to deletion. 2.) Using the words "Blizzard," "Blue," or any community team members' names in a thread topic is frowned upon. Everyone would like Blizzard to read and acknowledge his or her post, and we understand that; however, use of such words in the subject line does not help that come to pass. Please make your thread title relevant to the post subject. Threads violating this guideline are subject to deletion. 3.) Posting "First" or IBTL ("in before lock") constitutes as spamming. You will be suspended if you create a post that is intended to call out that you achieved a specific reply number in a thread. This is considered spamming. Posting IBTL ("in before the lock") is not helpful, and if you feel a thread should be moderated please use the rating button to do so. 4.) Do not "bump" posts. The act of posting simply to bump a thread is considered spamming. This also includes bumping very old threads for no reason (called "necro bumping" or "necroing"). 5.) Petition posts are frowned upon. These are discussion forums and, as such, we ask that you hold discussions. Creating a thread to ask for replies as votes is not a discussion. Threads violating this guideline are subject to deletion. 6.) Do not post about locked or deleted threads. Posts that are moderated have a reason behind the moderation. It's up to you to read the forum Code of Conduct and these guidelines to determine what you did wrong, learn from your mistake, and attempt to post again without breaking any rules. There is also cool down period we institute during times of high forum traffic. If you are violating policy during one of these times due to frustration, you will be given a three-hour cool down suspension. This does not get logged on your record and is simply in place to keep the forums readable and civil. Serious violations will still have the appropriate action taken against them as documented in the Code of Conduct, and we do keep track of these cool down periods separately—if one is found to be repeatedly violating policy, appropriate action will be taken.Keganbe0 Mar 11, 2014
13m When's the last day to buy retiring adventures? Is April 5th the last date when we can buy the adventures which will retire (LoE, BM)? Or is it March 31st?surfmadpig2 13m
56m What's the point of playing Hearthstone now? Hello everyone, I'm a casual player of Hearthstone who decided to come back after a long hiatus to check out the new content. After getting into constructed battles, it seems pretty pointless to even try it. I don't have oodles of money just raring to go on buying things in-game, and everyone has multiple legendaries (One person I dealt with had about 4 or 5 in a deck). It's impossible to win for someone who is new or a casual player even. So what's the point of playing Hearthstone now that everyone and their mothers have all these cards that's going to make me lose hope before I feel invested enough to purchase something?Shado12 56m
1h Add Friends Here! Woah, this is STILL staying on the front page! I'm so proud of myself ;P (totally kidding but still I am really darn surprised). Anyways, for any new players out there wandering on this post, here's a bit of a rundown as to what this post is for. This post is to help other players communicate with others in a simple way, by just posting their battle tags on this forum and adding other players who do so! It's a very simple and easy way to add friends. So if you ever have a quest like: "Play with a friend for 80 Gold!" or "Spectate a friend for a free card pack!" Then this is your go to! So just simply post and add battle tags! :) Note: If you're new to this post, it would be most effective to jump to the very last page and find friends there, many people who had posted have unfortunately become unactive, so if you're looking for more active players, newest and recent pages and posts are the best way to go.Tyson3924 1h
1h talk talk talk! Greetings Everyone! I'm new. I was playing a game and was wondering how you communicate with the other player. I didn't want to seem like I was ignoring them! I at least wanted to be able to thank them for playing! Also, how do you "Concede" a game? I've had two people concede to me... (It's my overpowering awsomeness... :D) (Or I farted to much....) :Pspookycurt9 1h
1h How to access old expansions? A co-worker just got me hooked on the game but apparently I can't buy or access Naxxramas single player or buy card packs? I only have access to Blackrock/Explorers for solo and Argent/Old gods for packs. Am I just hosed from ever being able to do Naxx? Do those cards get moved to classic packs or are there other ways to obtain them? I'm very new to all this so I don't even know how to craft I'm just trying to do quests and leveling all the classes to 10.Tizerak11 1h
3h Is this deck still viable? http://www.icy-veins.com/hearthstone/basic-paladin-deck I googled a paladin deck that is viable as a beginner and i found this, but im not sure if its still good. Also, is paladin a good class for a beginner?Danko5 3h
7h Welcome Pack Recent Happenings Thread So I was curious about what Legendary card everyone else got when they opened their Welcome Pack. For $4.99, you get 10 Classic packs and a free Legendary. When I bought mine, I got Edwin VanCleef. How about the rest of you?Sabaku21 7h
8h al'akir the windlord replacement I was looking at a b787 shaman deck and would like to give it a try. I have all the cards except al'akir. Any suggestions for a good/decent replacement? 12h Hi! Im new and i dont know what to do. Hi! I started a while ago and the only things i did was open classic packs and spam casual matches. So far i gathered a few cards and 1 legendary at that but i have no idea where to go from here, i don't know anything about deck building, ways to get free/easily obtainable card packs etc etc. Im Danko#21754 on bnet in case someone would want to help me "in person" rather than on the forums (i'll check this thread often so if u dont wanna add me thats fine too). What im looking for is general tips :) Thanks in advance.Danko31 12h
17h Suggestion: Let us choose our arena/brawl card reward. So, I'd play arena, but I personally want to work on my classic collection first, so I avoid arena which really hurts me I think in the end. Why not let us choose which collection to get a card from when completing arena/tavern brawl?Quickly7 17h

19h How much of this game is luck, and how much is skill? Topic ^ what percent? I ask because Forsen, a pro player that could be the best freeze mage there is atm, he said in an interview how there's too much RNG. He also goes on to say that his own personal preference is games that are all skill, like Starcraft, and that the RNG element attracts a casual crowd, which in turn attracts a larger crowd of people to the game itself, so its good for the community. With that in mind I still have the questions, how much of Hearthstone is luck, and how in the fook do you quantify what's skill and what's strategy and what's luck? I mean, just drawing a hand you can play is pure luck, and not drawing that hand within two turns is pretty much a death sentence, so...How do you separate the two? edit so i looked up this topic and its been done to death, I apologize for making another topic on it. It seems obvious now there would be a lot of topics on this subject, just never thought on it. I'd delete the thread if I could.Weedguy22 19h
22h Is this deck a solid starter? New deck, wondering if It was any good. Trying to make a jade deck without jade idol or nourish was odd, but I did get cenarius from the starter bundle. http://imgur.com/a/F8XTTImLycanIt5 22h
23h HS is so hard to catch up for new players? Hello there, I may be not that a new player, but I play since october 2016, that is almost 6 months now. I play this game every day, and I still have a very poor collection of cards. Why is that so? It was the worst time to start that game, as is always before a new expansion. I started building my collection with WOTG cards, then puff, MSOG came out. My collection then had even smaller percentage of cards available in standard at that time. I spent 2 months farming for adventures. And then I learned that they rotate out. But hell yeah, at least I don't need to craft all that legends. It was worth those thousands of gold. (i hope so) Then I started playing arena. It was fun, scoring some of them over the 10, getting pretty decent number over 5, and I felt happy. But filling my collection was still very slow. And I even bought the starter pack! Why is that? You don't stand a chance in ranked cause there are ppl with much more cards than you have. And you kinda want to play it to get that card rewards for higher ranks. And in classic, the matchmaking matched me with full control warrior after a month of play. He had total 7 legendaries in a deck, and I got only King Mukla who was dusted immediately. On the top of that. Current meta is not fit for new players. You can try Pirates but if you don't have Patches and Leeroy, it's simply 50% winrate or lower. You need a big budget for those strongest decks. If you decide to go to the Wild mode to escape pirates, jades, etc., there are people who have all the previous cards, and you don't. All in all. My experience in this game was very stressful, not rewarding at all. I spent 6 months every day playing. And I still don't feel good or fun playing this game because I can't experiment with decks. I started playing TES Legends on monday. I already have 50% of the collection. Hell yeah! Blizzard should be rewarding in Hearthstone as they are in Heroes of the Storm. There is ALWAYS some free content. Wether a hero, mount, or stimpaks. It warms our hearts. HOTS gave 5 heroes around New Year (which is not little) and Hearthstone did not even award us with a single pack. I hope that they fix the matchmaking in classic. I might even stop playing this game.Burekdzija21 23h

2d Ask a Question: The New Player’s Hearthstone Reference Tool Welcome to “Ask a Question: The New Player’s Hearthstone Reference Tool!” Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a fun little digital collectible card game (CCG) that, like most competitive card games, frequently sees community controversy over that most fundamental of dichotomies: the balance of luck and skill. The goal of this guide is to answer questions concerning Hearthstone’s mechanics, concepts, and strategies for the new player. Since there is so much information to cover, in order to accomplish our goal, this guide will by necessity have to be somewhat dynamic—rather than having all the answers available in one place, we will attempt to answer all the questions. What does that mean, in practical terms? It’s quite simple: ask a question, and you will receive an answer that is as comprehensive and easy-to-understand as possible. Naturally, the more narrowly you focus your question, the better the answer you will receive. For example, the question “How do I defeat Midrange Shaman?” can be difficult to answer without context. It is easier to answer a question such as “How do I defeat a Standard-format Midrange Shaman deck with this decklist/card pool?” Let’s start with some anticipated frequently-asked questions: Q: Who the heck are you? A: Glad you asked! I’m Everisto—I’m an amateur poker, Magic: The Gathering, and Hearthstone player. I play a lot of card games, and I want to share what I’ve learned with newer players. In terms of my Hearthstone résumé, I am a (sometimes) Legend-rank player, an “infinite” Arena competitor, and a control deck addict. Q: Why make a forum thread dedicated to answering questions? A: I’ve spent a fair amount of time reading these forums (though I haven’t made many posts), and I’ve seen a lot of great questions. Unfortunately, these questions often receive answers that are incomplete, ill-considered, or misleading. Even worse, there are some excellent answers that are buried under a flood of posts, making them difficult to pick out. I believe that a resource that focuses on provided detailed answers to the questions of new players is a great way to welcome them to the community and mitigate the difficulty of playing a game that has fairly high barriers to entry. Q: I’m more of a picture/visual learner. Do you stream/make videos/offer coaching? A: I’m afraid that I don’t, and have no plans to do so in the foreseeable future. However, I know that there are a number of streams and informational videos available through sites such as YouTube and Twitch, and there are many players on these very forums that offer to coach players free of charge. These are great resources to make use of, and I highly recommend availing yourself if you have the time. Q: I see a question that I know the answer to. Can I post my answer? A: Feel free! If you give a really good answer, I might simply reference your post in my own answer. On the other hand, I might disagree with you. By the same token, if you disagree with one of my answers, go ahead and say so. I don’t intend to get into detailed discussion chains, but having access to multiple opinions is a good way to learn. With that out of the way, let’s get to answering some questions! I look forward to hearing from you!Everisto8 2d

3d Should I buy MSOG or WOG packs? I have already opened quite a few packs of classic packs(maybe 80 in total) and have few of anything else. (maybe 10 packs of Cthun). I am wondering for most efficient use of money per usefulness of card, should I buy MSOG or WTOG cards? I dont mind playing wild and I have all the adventures.MaxPower4 3d
3d New player here I've pretty much just saved up my gold for a few months. I am wondering if classic + un'goro only cards will be a thing? I don't want to start buying older packs / expansions. I'm looking to buy stuff from un'goro onwards. As f2p I think I can catch up this way, but I'm not going to be buying older content that will be phased out of standard every year. Simply put, this way I can have all the cards / dust I need in 2 years time to play standard with any deck I want. Not going to bother with wild mode as I'm just too far behind for that.Niblet3 3d
4d Should i save up for adventure? I recently made all my characters level 10, (Mage already 20 for tavern brawl sake) Should i save up for adventure? i mainly play priest/warlock deckSuzaku16 4d
4d I got 20$ to spend, new player So, I'm a new player and have 20$ to spend on hearthstone, I will also buy the new adventure because it will inflict the meta. Now, the question is: " How do I spend the 20$ now"?Ĭgnatius11 4d
4d Veteran bullies run the New Player Tavern I was under the assumption that the "new player" tavern was for new players. I was duped by several veteran(s) into spending my day creating a hearthpwn account, listing my cards used, only to have them ridicule my card classification and write things like I don't believe you, liar, and if you want to prove me wrong then do this and this. They offered absolutely no advice and in return I felt I should never come back to hearthstone.com or battle.net. As a new player I suggest watching some actual pro's (people not ranked by the number of posts they have but on their actual rank) on Twitch tv, youtube, or anywhere you can see the cards in play. 4d Winter Championship 2k17 I watched the Winter Championships today and noticed a few things while watching the Shamans so I've decided to add what I saw because I believe this deck is very successful and affordable for new players. 2x Lightning Bolts 2x Tunnel Troggs 2x Flame tongue totems 2x Jade claws 2x Malestrom portals 2x Totem golems 1x Brann Bronzebeard 2x Hex 1x Lightning Storm (but I think he didn't have this and instead used a 2nd azure drake) 2x Mana tide totems 2x Jade lightning 2x Jade spirit 2x Jinyu 1x Azure drake ( I think should be two of these and no lightning storm) 1x Aya Blackpaw (she is very expensive- 1600 dust but very important) 2x Thing from below 2x Jade chieftain That is really close to what they were using and it was very successful and could be considered one of the best decks in current meta. Might even get you to rank 1 or better if you play the hell out of it. Also on Youtube you can search Winter Championship to see for yourself how it was used today and decide if it's worth dusting or avoiding :) Also I think it's on all day Saturday 3/24/2017 on various sites. 5d F2P Approach to Collection Disclaimer: You don't need every single card to be competitive. There have been a number of posts about how it is impossible for F2P players to ever obtain a complete collection or even everything that's been released from the point they started. I feel it'd be nice to list out the stats for those of you who still wish to obtain nearly every card without spending a penny in Hearthstone. Revisiting this Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/5hdb0u/average_gold_received_by_doing_the_absolute/ The average gold per year from doing the absolute minimum from daily quests is ~21,840g With the 3 expansion format, that averages to ~73 packs per expansion (72.8 packs really). How many packs would you need to open, per expansion, if you want to receive all the cards? Here's a rough breakdown for MSoG: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://hearthstone.blizzpro.com/2016/11/30/gadgetzan-buyers-guide-how-many-packs-do-i-have-to-buy/ The estimate says ~380 packs. However, we all know that we receive more duplicates than we'd like. So, the more realistic number to aim for is roughly ~200 packs for 90% of the expansion. Chances are, by the time you've opened 200 packs of a given expansion, you'd have enough leftover Dust to finish the collection of regular cards. What does that leave us? We are expected to open ~600 packs a year to have a shot at completing the 3 expansion format. Doing the absolute minimum will put you in a position where you'd need a way to obtain an extra 380+ packs to help you finish your fancy. I will list the ways that are currently available to everyone in getting extra gold/packs in the following post because this post is getting annoyingly long.Leonis8 5d

5d Adventure Mode I just started a couple weeks ago and I know that BRM and LoE are cycling out of standard. I'd like to buy the first wing of both with gold before then so then I can buy them at any pace, but If I can only get one which is better for a new player. I haven't really developed a play style or decks yet so dragons vs class cards doesn't really make a difference to me. The answer may seem obvious that league has more card but let me know what you think. Also which one has a more fun "story"/gameplay in general. Thank You in advance. P.S. I'm also new to this forum so if it's in the wrong place sorry.Ewhizz5 5d
5d Disenchanting Adventure cards So i have a question. I read in various places that adventure cards can be disenchanted into dust if you already own them (via gold or real money playing the adventure and unlocking them) Can any one confirm this to be true ? It seems to have changed with the standard format in april with the release of old gods. My idea is that - i want to buy adventures and use the adventure cards for 2 years - and then once they circulate out of standard, dust them and buy the next "in seasonal" adventures and use the dust to craft new expansion cards or fill out on epics and legendary cards for my classic set. I know that is not the best use of dust, but i feel that it would give blizzard a lot of money, and give me some enjoyment to be able to convert my useless wild cards into dust when they are no longer usable in standard. I do not play wild, and i hope i can dust my adventure cards when they fall out of format. Any one can confirm thanks.Anthony38 5d
5d How to counter the risk of losing Tempo in late game deck In general, I have read that late game deck usually try to survive thru the early game until they can put down the big cards later. For me, I just feel like the risk in there is too high and I have a high % of dying before putting out big cards. For example, in my current Arena game, my mana curve is as follow: 1: 3 2: 6 3: 4 4: 5 5: 6 6: 4 7: 1 Fairly even curve, it is a tempo deck I believe. The risk that I most afraid of is that I will not be able to mulligan out the 1 and 2 in the early game. In the first 3 games that I played in Arena, 2 of those games, I mulligan out 4 4 5, both games I couldn't play a card out until turn 3. By that time, I feel the opponent have already got a pretty good board and tempo and my 4 and 5 are not strong enough to gain me back tempo. They killed my 4, then put down their own 4 while still have a 1 or 2 left. So when playing this kind of deck with much less 1 and 2, are you just rely on blind luck RNG for the early game? If you can't have the 1 or 2 then you accept it and play another game hope for a better mulligan?Dragonson4 5d
5d Newbie Question Just gathered 3000 gold, on what to spend that gold? Wait for the new expansion/adventure? Any other proposal? Thanks in advance.Stormy3 5d

6d What are my mistakes? Hello, good denizens of New Players Tavern! I've gotten some great advice a few weeks back so I'm hoping to get some more insight into my mistakes to further improve my gameplay. Here's a replay of a latest arena game I've played. https://hsreplay.net/replay/DnNW7QqioemDqvjsudZsz6 Now, I know I should've coined out the orc on turn 2, knew I've made mistake then and there, but what else did I do wrong? Also, here's my standard mage build, I should probably mention I'm not planing on crafting any cards till Ungoro comes: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/750867-mage http://www.hearthpwn.com/members/freeelancer/collection I'm mostly wondering about Kabal Chemists and if I should put in the Emperor?freeelancer2 6d
6d Quick Question About Dust Refund Hey, i have both golden and regular Ragnaros, im aware that im only going to be refunded dust for the gold one. So does that mean its safe to disenchant the regular one now? Will it affect me getting the full 3200 back if i do? Thanks!ZigMason7 6d
6d I'm A Noob, And Overwhelmed! HELP. Hello all, i recently got into Hearthstone and really like it but i find all the technical lingo very overwhelming and confusing, so i have a few questions! 1) Why are there different kinds of decks such as Standard/Wild? This just confuses me. 2) What is a "Tempo" deck? 3) What would be the recommended cards that i should craft as a solid foundation to form multiple viable budget decks? 4) I have lucked out hard and got my second legendary from classic packs which also happens to be GOLDEN, should i disenchant it to get the dust and create alot of very good lesser grade cards to build my decks? (The legendary is Cenarius) 5) I am building a MidRange hunter deck and so far i am having alot of success with it but have no legendary cards availble to play in it, should i focus on getting a legendary for my deck or is this not important compared to collecting various other cards that can be used in multiple decks? I know this is alot of questions but if you can answer just one i would appreciate it greatly, thanks!Cynrai5 6d

6d question about rank So i been playing ranked mode. I have a jade mid range shaman. I am stuck between 19-18 rank. Yes that is a noob. I have 26 wins and a random number of losses. I assume i have about 21 losses. So is rank a factor of skill or is it a factor of grinding ? I notice when ever i win 3 games before i get 3 losses i get a bonus star, but if i get 3 losses and 2 wins, i actually slump down in rank. So my deck is pretty good, but priest and warriors rekt me easily. Usually pirate warriors control warriors dragon priest and control priest beat me up fast. Everything else i can beat. I play my jade shaman as a control deck with pirates weapons and jades, and my win condition is bloodlust minions and burn their face or eventually my golems get out of control and i over power the board and face. I have trouble with pirate warrior or decks with stronger copntrol then me. Strong control and strong aggro beat me. SO i am wondering if going up and down the rank is normal. It seems people are confused about ranked. I thought i had to win to go up in rank and if i lose i go down in rank, but that seems only half true. It seems if i do not farm 200 games i will not go up in rank. That leads me to wonder, if legend is all about getting more than 1000 games. I guess ranked is more of a grind than a skill based mode, but i am not 100% sure. I know if i win and lose back and fourth and get that lucky bonus star i can slowly climb to rank 15 but that would require 200 games. Is this how rank really is ?TinyTiger22 6d
6d dust and gold for new expansion hi so first of all, how do u get the dust from the recycled hall of fame cards when the time comes?do u just chill or do u have to create decks with all of them(i have just the normal versions)? secondly, i try to gather gold for new expansion(3.8k now).should i just spend all in the new expansion?or maybe spend around 1k gold for classic packs if i get lucky?(i have most common but i dont have most classic legendaries).or maybe buy some arena tickets and try to squeeze 4 wins for msog packs and some dust maybe? thanks for any advice ps i have the adventuresforneverland1 6d
Mar 21 help climbing ladder I don't like a lot of deck types and I am not the best player there are certain classes I am more comfortable with. playing priest was always my favorite but of late I can't do anything with it, the game is too fast and when it isn't fast jade or reno auto win so I threw together a budget jade deck and on a streak shot upto rank 16! but my rank 16 experience... 2xgolden freeze mages 100% net deck Mrshamans (cause that is not boring to play ¬¬) Pirate/dragon warriors netdecks at least one legendary player showing he can copy the shaman deck and throw a beat down a rank 16 player who has never been past rank 10 then at least several player who seemingly didn't know what they were doing with random classic cards. 2 players that afkd on the game. short version the skill range at this rank is sparse, I ping pong back and forth along 16 getting 1 win away from 15 then get CRUSHED by Jadeshaman etc. Im missing lots of the blackrock cards and figure its pointless buying them at this stage in the game. TLDRcan anyone suggest a jade druid deck or some other fun deck that should be capable of climbing the last few wins to rank 15? Thanks ~TariTari21 Mar 21
Mar 21 Crafting advice I have aya blackpaw, mangos and ragnaros. What legendary should I get next? Im thinking of yshaarj or kelthuzad. Any ideas?Merkerp9 Mar 21
Mar 21 hall of fame cards i heard u give people free dust without disenchanting some cards . i calculate that 10 400 dust if u have golden versions of those cards in total. So blizz thinks new player experience and give old users 10 400 freely with next expansion. If its not a p2w game blizz should give that dust all players whoever have those cards or not.Radagast11 Mar 21
