monster run not worth completing

Play Mode Discussion
once im done with the quests, im never touching again, its just not worth the hassle
so? its not worth it for you but is for others.
Some of us like it for what it is though.
Nice change of pace when you're tired of laddering.
I kinda enjoy monster hunt more tha dungeon run. The uniqe hero powers are pretty refreshing compared to ping or silverhand, steady shot etc..
Not worth running is maybe exagerated but dissapointing definitely.

There is so little change to encounters compared to the K&C dungeon run you can say it is just a reskin, since it's basically the same encounters you get bored quickly, the new heropowers are underwhelming and most importantly blizzard still wants to force you to play pvp modes so you still can't complete any quest that isn't dungeon related in dungeon run.

Let's hope they do better on the next one but who am i kidding it's blizzard ...

Ok. :)
IMO the only issue is how unfair some of the bosses are. I usually like some difficulty, but there are some bosses where I already know I'm going to lose at the start. The one that gets a minion every time one of yours dies... as Shaw? GG RIP hero power

As unique as the bosses are, I would have preferred more basic bosses that aren't so polarizing based on the hero and deck you happen to be playing. Maybe even just remove a couple bosses from each hero's pool so that you don't just end a run from being hard countered
I was disappointed to find out it was Dungeon Run v1.5.

They really like the casino like mechanics when deck building and determining which bosses you face. Getting screwed by RNG keeps you playing, because you get to think the reason you lost was just bad luck, you can win if you get better rolls.

The unique heroes and hero powers are cool tho.
Just finished it this afternoon. I thought it was fun.

There's a few different ways of looking at it:

- it's an easy way to get 4 extra witchwood packs

- it's an easy way to get a new card back that's a lot less hideous than the one from the last set (if you care about such superficial cosmetic stuff)

- it's an amusing (though quite RNG, just like the rest of this game) game-within-a-game / puzzle to solve

- if you don't want extra packs, don't care about card backs, and don't really like a new flavor of your existing game, then it's an annoyance clogging up your quest log

I can't imagine many people fall into the last category. But for those who do:

The quest clog is easily eliminated in under an hour just by repeatedly winning the first 1-2 fights which only take about 1-2 min each, concede to reset, repeat.
What I don't like are some of the overpowered hero powers. I mean really, one is to 'halve your opponent's health' every turn.

So I went from 80hp to 40 to 20 to 10 in three turns. (It wasn't exactly three in a row like that, but close enough).

Then I got to the last boss in another run and it was another overpowered one.

Problem is yours. They would not be puzzles if the bosses where fair.

I really like the item concepts and hope they incorporate some form of that into the normal game. Your hero can wear armor pieces like helmet, chest, gloves, boots, belt... etc. For example, one of them was Robes of the Magi, +3 spell damage. And one was an amulet that gives you an extra mana crystal.
Unless you enjoy PvE content I can see why you would just want to complete the quests and be done with it. And thats ok not every content they release is meant for everyone its your choice what you want to play or not to play.

I personally love a change of pace from time to time and I love the fact that they made the Monster Hunt abit harder than the Dungeon Run. Some people might disagree with me on this but overall I feel that Monster Hunt are more of a challenge than the Dungeon Run was.

I kinda wish they made an even deeper PvE experience with more choices in the future.
Several of the bosses feel overtuned. While others kind of... well destroy themselves at random.

I completed the whole thing yesterday. Two of the four round 8 boss wins happened because the enemy milled key cards (kingsbane and those 6/3 infinite deathrattles and the hex that makes them)

I didn't really outthink the enemy, they just made blatant mistakes that let me win.

And the final boss was a bit silly. I ended up with 5-10 iceblocks cast with several still in my hand. It was just one giant fatigue match of me trying to discover removal/ice block while slowly healing trying to outmatch a 3/15 lifesteal weapon. Took forever but she eventually ran out of stuff.
If you just want a card back, then no probably not worth it. If you actually enjoy the game mode it is definitely worth playing through. I really enjoyed it.
