Account Ban and Hearthstone Deck Tracker

My hearthstone account got banned a few days ago. After exhausting the appeal process, the Game Master suggested that I make a post to the Hearthstone forum stating my dissatisfaction. Hopefully, this post will also let others know they aren't alone when they run into something similar.

I am a pretty consistent player who usually plays 5-10 games a day during weekdays and possibly 20 games a day over the weekends to complete quests and progress on ladder. On wild ladder, I am able to hit rank 5 most months. On standard ladder, I stay at rank 20 to complete quests and farm wins for the golden hero portrait. Obviously, this means conceding the next game after winning to stay at rank 20. All of this is done manually without the assistance of any software.

I do use Hearthstone Deck Tracker when I play on desktop since it is very convenient; I believe this is acceptable since it does something that is replicable using pen and paper. This is the only program I use when playing Hearthstone. I do not use the HearthArena overlay since I don't play arena typically. Obviously, when I play on mobile, I don't use any other programs.

Given this, I was extremely surprised that my account was banned. After going through the appeal process (detailed below), it looks like I won't be able to get my account back. This is obviously a blow since I have spent a lot of time (and some money) on this game.

My main problem with the whole process is the sense of helplessness and indignation I feel since Blizzard will not provide details on why the account was banned. I understand that they want to prevent people from learning then exploiting the process, but for someone who feels legitimately wronged, it feels unfair to not be able to walk through the evidence with the Blizzard team and ask them questions and/or have them ask questions. I feel that if someone went through the activity log with me they will clearly see that no bots were involved and no user agreement was violated.

Thanks for reading. I hope Blizzard can make a formal statement on the use of Hearthstone Deck Tracker since it affects a lot of players and I don't want people to think it's the reason for the ban.

    The first email I got is the email informing me that the account has been banned. The email gives you an idea of how the appeal process will go - mainly that Blizzard has already made up their mind and don't count on anything being done about it:
    Account Action: Account Closure
    Offense: Automation of Gameplay (also known as bots)

    This activity provides benefits not normally achievable in the game and detracts from the integrity of other players' experience and the Hearthstone game environment.

    The account holder is responsible for all activity on the account. We issue suspensions and closures to protect our players and our service in accordance with our Blizzard EULA:

    Obviously, the next thing I did was to submit an appeal through a support ticket thinking there was some kind of mistake:

    I just received an email informing me that my Hearthstone account has been banned/closed for "Automation of Gameplay (also known as bots)".

    I am very confused to why this happened as I have never used any botting programs or automation and have been playing normally for a few years. I don't believe my account was hacked either as I didn't see any emails about suspicious activities. Could you let me know what the evidence is? I believe if you look at my activity log you can see that I mostly play a few games everyday, and obviously do it manually.

    The next day, I got a notification saying my ticket has been resolved and the following reply:
    Hey XXX,

    Game Master AAA here, thanks for ticketing in!

    We have escalated your Hearthstone ban appeal for additional review.

    We will be sure to update you with the results of our investigation as soon as we can, and thank you for your continued patience!

    Thinking this whole thing was just a mistake and eager to get back to doing my quests, I created another ticket asking for a status update:
    Hi, i submitted a tickets wondering why my account was banned and got a reply “We have escalated your Hearthstone ban appeal for additional review”, but closed my ticket. Could you let me know roughly how long this review will take? It should be pretty obvious that there was a mistake. I really would like to get back to playing and trying to hit rank 5 at the end of the month. Thanks.

    This time, within a few hours, I got a notification saying my ticket has been resolved and the following reply:
    Hey there XXX, this is Specialist Game Master BBB here.

    Thank you for reaching out to us, we really do appreciate you taking the time to contact us. Looking over everything, I completely understand how odd and confusing it can seem when the account is under review and no results are communicated. I am terribly sorry for the wait, however I will do all I can to clear things up for you.

    I did some thorough digging into the Blizzard account and found the escalation review the previous GM submitted. I did review that escalation and found it recently was completed, but it seems the previous GM had not gotten back with you just yet. The results of the investigation were that our initial findings were accurate. This does mean the ban on this Hearthstone license will not be removed.

    I know this is not the desired news to hear, nor was it something I wanted to provide, however I hope you have a good day otherwise. If you ever have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us, we will always do our best to assist where we can.

    Since I still feel that this is just a mistake and I don't want to lose my account, I tried to resolve this issue one last time through a live chat, but the message was the same as the emails (the team has reviewed it, the decision stands, we cannot tell you the details, etc.). I didn't get a chance to copy the chat log, but the message afterwards from Game Master CCC sums it up:
    Hello there XXX

    As mentioned a review of the account action has been performed and has been upheld. We will not be overturning this action.

Blizzard wont banned account for no reason , and of cause they wont show proof that you bot.
Imagine they show it here , all the botters will then eh hem... u know.

If you know who is the Infamous, ValiantChaos and those who get lawsuit from Blizz.

If you really think you are innocent , get a lawyer and fight your case.

Tracker is Legit , if not all twitch streamers will be banned long ago like you.
