ACADEMIC ESPIONAGE IS BS

Play Mode Discussion
WHAT THE HELL BLIZZARD!
WHY
WHY RUIN THE GAME!
10, 1 COST RANDOM CLASS CARDS!!
WHY!!!!!
ALONG WITH PREPERATION THAT MAKES IT COST LESS THIS TURN
WHYYYYYYYYYYY
Academic espionage generates *random cards*, that may or may not be useful or even good.

It is also a huge tempo hit for a class with almost no wide board removal, poor single target removal outside a rotating vilespine(wtp is up) and literally no sustain/health gain.

Rogues have had more cards nerfed than any other class over the last 3 months and there are at least 3 classes doing much better in standard. How’s about we stop picking on them for awhile hmmm?

Yeah but think about it, what card from the other class is not usefull.
especially if they cost 1! and there's 10 of them. plus rogue has plenty way to draw cards
like pulling out a king crush or a deathstalker rexar turn 2....
Cards that are not useful:

Anything that makes a rogue discard cards since the deck is not built around it.

Anything that results in health loss since rogues have no sustain.

Anything that buffs or modifies a specific creature type that rogues lack access to... say demons, or beasts.

Anything that deals with effects after heal, since rogues have none.

Anything that deals with effects after armor, since rogues have none.

Any poorly statted creature.

Any poor tempo or overcosted card.

The list goes on....

Quite a few apparently since Thief Rogue is one of the worst decks in the entire game as far as win rates are concerned. It's a meme deck purely based on luck.

Or a Jewelled Macaw for just 1, that's super OP.

Stop focusing on the best possible outcome, because those are not the only things that happen. Your scenarios so far have been Magical Christmas Land type stuff that occur maybe once every 100 games.
I love playing my espionage rogue. I will lose 7 / 10 games because you get rushed down by agro or most long games get destroyed by whatever OTK set up they needed always gets completed, or I just get total rubbish 1 drop cards.

But sometimes the stars align, I pull out overpowered DK's which I can play following a nice board clear or some other stupid play. But it's so rare. Just because you met the rogue in one of those 3/10 games doesn't mean the deck is OP.
It’s a great card against Mecha’Thun, but not much else.

how?
I got my face kicked in by hunters for like 10 games straight but then got a Shaman and pulled two (2!) grumbles and a shudderwock. That got hilarious pretty fast. Just remember to Tess before shudder...

And a lot of times those cards are sitting at the bottom of the deck, with no card draw handy.

I played Academic Espionage against a warrior.
2x Molten Blades
1x Woodcutter's axe
1x Gorehowl
1x Arathi Weaponsmith
1x Forge of Souls
No idea about the other cards because I lost.

If it was as good as you infer the deck wouldn't be tier 4 in power (48% WR or so)

That is the truth
but... but... the deck is so much FUN!

sorry

Because any card that costs 1 is going to be strong 80 to 90% of the time. They play their card or combo and then a 1 cost on top.
they either pull out a 1 cost card or they draw more cards, sure if its a warlock it might be somewhat harder if they keep discarding cards. but the added bonus of 10 extra cards is already op.

If it's really "op" how come the deck is one of the worst in the game with about 39.10% win rates according to HSReplay?

How can a deck be both utterly crap and op and the same time? Explain that to us.
