How many mm threads?

General Feedback
Just wondering how many threads and post about your alwful mm are required for 1 blue post we've screwed till the next patch we will have a new better mm, sorry for your frustration. The only thing is that you are aware of the that problem and you will fix it at "some point". The answer be patient is not acceptable anymore. Communicate with the community or be blizzard's biggest fail ever.
Dunno, but I dont see reason why to stop posting them. Keep it comming. Its bad and its Blizzard fault.. bath them in it.
The problem is that it's likely one of:
a. They don't have a clue what to do about it
b. They don't care about people not in tournament, and tournament don't have that problem.

The best you can do about it is not put in anymore money until they fix it. That's how I go about it.

Also consider not putting any money in overwatch as well given that it will likely have the same issue since of their own account it will be based on their existing match making experience.

This is the only way they will every do something about matchmaking. When people stop putting in real money, it will get their attention.

I love this game in every way except for the matchmaking. I would gladly spend real money if the matchmaking was not an abomination that it is right now. Until then, I will not spend a dime.
It's been almost an entire year now that there have been MMR issues that never got resolved.

It goes to show that Blizzard really doesn't care.

I stopped spending money when I noticed that a month after release nothing was done. It's all gold spending now for me now. lol.

Because they can all just post to one giant thread.

People only make new threads to feel supported and special. In a long lost of posts none is more important than the other.

I'm okay with people posting informative pieces as to what their teams looked like and why they feel it's not balanced, but it's lot of swearing crying and whining and repetitive "it's easy as X to fix" when it's clearly easier said than coded
The problem is, it's really difficult to tell algorithmically which players contributed the most to a win or loss. Measuring simple things like damage done and damage taken don't mean that much in a team game with shared experience.

The way MMR is calculated it only goes up for wins, and down for losses, but you don't know which of the 5 players on each team contributed the most/least to the outcome. It's extremely difficult to model actual skill accurately. Over the long term it mostly works out, but it takes hundreds and hundreds of games. If you got really lucky/unlucky results early on, or improve a lot after playing hundreds of games, it's difficult to represent.

I can't talk for others, but I do realize the complexity, which largely comes from this:

And I have been on both sides (sometime the best sometime the worse, sometime in between).

That being said it's even more complex than just that as play style also matters a lot. Grouping people with different style can lead to their loss even if individually they are all good.

That being said, the fact that it isn't simple to fix, doesn't mean it should not be the top priority for Blizzard, yet I haven't seem them putting that much effort into it (only some very minor tweaks which only made things slightly better).
I have two accounts, with an MMR difference of about 700 between them. And I can't differentiate play quality in HL games (solo queue) between the two accounts. The games seem the same to me (very random).

There are a lot of distortions in the system:

1) people whose MMR was high but played exclusively in premade groups of 3-4 on voice com. These players may struggle in solo queue, which is a different game really. E.g., some of these players are support specialists, which is great in premade, but not so good in solo queue.

2) people who had bad or good streaks in their first 20 HL games. There are big MMR swings in the first 20-50 games of HL, as the uncertainty variable in MMR is high

3) people who don't play "solo carries" like Zeratul, Jaina, KT, etc. Sometimes these players are amazing Gazlowes or Reghars or what have you, but their MMR won't be as high as a Zeratul specialist. You just can't win as many games as a Gazlowe main than as a Zeratul or Jaina main, skill being equal. But they can be really good players when you play with them, even if their MMR isn't impressive.

I'm pretty sure players at the extreme reaches of MMR are really good or really bad. But there's a huge middle bracket where it's really hard to tell the difference.
Mapmo, why did you necromance all those MM threads? We know there are a ton of MM threads, you don't need to troll to make your point.

I have to admit that you managed to annoy me, well played, your trolling skills are strong. That surely will speed up the MM development... not.

We do, but Blizzard doesn't seem to.
I saw a blue post today after someone asked how two heroes who are mortal enemies in lore can be on the same team.

Yet they still can't put up one blue post about everyone's matchmaker issues.

Maybe they don't want to acknowledge it in case players would find that justifies a refund of real money.
Oh they know. They just dont care. But did you see the good news guys?!?! NEW MOUNTS AND SKINS TO BUY YAY!!!!!

But seriously, they know, and they dont give two !@#$s. They cash in on the 1% of retards who buy the cosmetics, so they cater to them, and its obvious. Quit playing. I've stopped playing any b.net game all together (exception of Diablo 2 lod). Too much wrong with this game atm for them to do a %^-*ing sissy patch every month, let alone a large balance patch every two months

Hey let's not diss the art and modeling team just because they're actually doing their job. If anything, i want them to bring us more mounts and skins at a faster rate. And maybe fix some of the skins already out.
It's been blizzard's M.O. for years to never give out information on anything that is nowhere near close to completion.
I believe they're aware of the problem (would be hard not to, eh?). Whether or not they're trying to fix it is up to them. If they are trying, don't expect a big announcement for something they don't have ready/aren't sure they can implement on next patch day. They take their time with these things.
Usually when/if it comes, it'll be good though.

*later edit - matchmaking is the biggest issue of the game at the moment, but actually solving it is a complex issue. Simply put, no MM system is able to take player knowledge into account and creating hard barriers (no. of minimum games played) usually is a lazy solution which only serves to increase the gap between bad, decent and good players.
This game, like many others, comes down to knowledge, instinct and synergy. Nobody can get these over night. It's lose & learn. Now if they can't learn, they'll stay bad. Adapt or die - most basic law of nature.
