You guys wanted a none-warcraft hero and a new support to join the Nexus.

General Discussion
So why aren't some of you happy with Lucio? He is a fan favorite iconic Overwatch support hero that everybody likes who enjoys support.

And the fact we only got 2x Overwatch heroes and lack support roles, Why not be at least thanks full with what you get from blizz? I was also expecting Stukov to join the nexus. But man this was a huge surprise( i love surprises) I believe Lucio would fit well in the game already with his new unique mechanic.

Btw don't listen to those people who says Overwatch isn't fit to be in heroes of the storm :p
They aren't happy because they never will be. If a hero isn't on their approved list, they'll complain about it just for the sake of complaining.
It's an endless loop. No matter what hero, role or franchise they release, ppl will always complain. You'll see they will whine too when we get Stukov, Imperius, Mephisto or whatever.

They just cant deal with it, they dont want to. They are not aware what are complaint-worthy issues in life, therefore they complain about the smallest thing that dissapoints them even in the slightest.

They really have no clue what life is about, but i hope they do receive a good lesson some day. A life-changing lesson.
People just got super hyped about Stukov for no reason, honestly.

While Lucio isn't exactly my favorite Overwatch hero (or even Support, Zenyatta takes that crown), I'm glad we've finally gotten out of the Warcraft Assassins thing.

I mean, Lucio's no Mephisto, Malthael, or Aidan, but he's not Warcraft so that's awesome.
Unless they are trolls, i would guess that these are not the same people complaining. There will always be vocal people disappointed with a hero release, they arent always the same people.
you can never please all the people all of the time, plenty of folks are very happy with a non-Warcraft, non-assassin, and doubly so that its a support.
I think the vast majority of the community welcomes Lucio. Quite a few are already hyped!

Sure, some trolls would like the WC melee assassin train to continue, but they are a small minority.
Could Blizzard have been more impressive with an Overwatch Support release? I doubt that Lucio is the most "original" support from OW...How about Symmetra, or Zenyatta, or Ana? Oh...but they take too much time to be made, don't they?

I'm excited to have another Support and coming from another Franchise than WC, but I do feel that this is somehow an "easy to made, Unskillful to play" Creation if we consider what would Lucios abilities would be. Yes, Positionning will sure be something important for that character, but this is not the only skill a Player should have. Just think how you must time Chromie's wombo-combo, or the Kerrigan one, or Gaz, or Anub, or Kt, or Jaina. I'm still hoping for a "more complex" Support Hero sooner or later...

Don't get me wrong, the wall walking seems very interesting, but Brightwing and Kharazim already have a mechanic to escape from, for example, Leoric's Entomb...So what does that Lucio ability brings new into HOTS?

Hopefully he can somehow counter Ragnaros Lava-Wave (Wave-Clear that instantly kills Minions in a lane, two at lvl 20. No real counter against that, only to wait for the Death Train to pass, unable to prevent this ultimate ability by any means)....Right?

Why do you need to counter Ragnaros Lava wave?
Well the thing is that the community is not a unified being, and people can belong to several different subgroups. Here are some examples:

1. People that want franchise diversity.
2. People that do not care about franchise.
3. People that favor a single franchise over the others.
4. People that despise a single franchise.
5. People that want more of a role.
6. People that hate a role.
7. People that want more diverse character picks in roles (right now support and solo warriors kinda short).
8. Those who do not care about role.
9. Favor specific characters lore/personality wise.
10. Hate specific character lore/personality.

For instance people that are 1, 3 (outside warcraft favor), 4 (dislike warcraft), and 7 wanted to break the streak of warcraft assassins. Now that they announced Lucio as the next character, those that fall under 4 (dislike overwatch), 10 (dislike lucio), 6 (hate supports), and 9 (was hoping for their favored hero) are disapointed.

And this doesn't mean he isn't still coming, so getting angry that another hero is first is silly. Especially since Blizzard never said or indicated that Stukov was, in fact, next.

Those were certainly other options (though with Heroes' mechanics and classifications, I think Symmetra would end up being classified as Specialist here), but Lucio was a good option too. They made a choice. Not out of expediency or laziness, but because it was an interesting concept to bring to Heroes.

No doubt.
Can you pls not lump all of us who were fed up with WC into one category with a small group of ppl who will never be pleased.

While that is true, there are certainly people here who were complaining about Valeera's labels and are now complaining about Lucio.

look at the people that are unhappy. I would be willing to bet that they arent the same people.
people are vocal about things they dont like, because they want things to change. people were unhappy with 5 warcraft heroes in a row and no supports.
now its safe to assume that the people who were OK with 5 warcraft heroes in a row were pretty quiet, because no big deal right?
now we have a group of people who think lucio sucks piping up because its something they are unhappy with. doesnt mean its the same people who "cant handle life" or whatever gibberish you were trying to put out there.
I'm in the middle about Lucio because I don't know anything about him and how he plays in OW.

I'm glad we get another support. I would support another ... support after his release also.
A lot of people are happy. You need to stop thinking a few posts is reflective of the whole community.

If that was the case, you'd think everyone was silenced, and every match is unplayable, which is clearly not the case.

You can't please everybody.

Lucio is a Support who can defend himself, but his main Support utility comes from constantly healing his allies in small amounts or giving his allies a small speed boost.

He mostly only heals in significant amounts with his Amp it Up! ability, but if you use that you can't give your team a significant speed boost. But if you use it to redeploy your dead team mates, you can't significantly heal people when you get there.

His Ult works much like how that one talent for Artanis worked; you give your allies a HUGE shield that decays over time rather than lasting a set amount of time.
Personally, I was looking forward to the possibility of Stukov being added to the roster. I'm not opposed to Overwatch characters being added and I'm glad it's a support next. I just don't find Lucio an interesting character at all, I would have preferred Ana as the next support. Again, this is only my opinion.
It's never surprising anymore. All the complains about this game only consisting of WC Assassins... And when they finally include a non-WC assassin, and a support (Last one was released August 9th 2016) there's just as much complaining. You'll NEVER please everyone, and the people who aren't satisfied will always be the loudest. It's the way we are. I for one am excited for Lucio, I've got my gold ready.
Because the people who want more supports are probably a vocal minority. Take a look at quick match, where people pick whatever they want to play without regard to team comp or try-harding. This is currently our best indicator of what people actually want to play.

The most picked support right now is Tassadar at #9 since he just got reworked. His popularity is falling fast. The next most popular support is Malfurion at #25 with Auriel in third at #32. There's 62 heroes in the entire game, meaning only 2 supports are in the top half of most picked heroes (Auriel sitting 1 place outside), and only 1 is in the top third (not for long). Of the 20 least popular heroes, 6 of them are supports.

Statistically speaking the vast majority of the playerbase is not interested in playing a support.
