Has Fenix's balance ruined him for anyone else?

General Discussion
As title.

When I found out Fenix was coming I was so excited, he was one of the few big-name Protoss character not yet in HotS. His kit seemed fun and not too powerful like Maiev's.

After over a month of him however, he's sitting among my most-hated heroes in HotS. His damage is overtuned, he can facetank an absurd amount of damage, and warp is a near-guaranted escape unless hard CC is saved specifically for him.
lol no.
No.
This has happened before, it will happen in the future too. Sometimes heroes are op on release. Fenix is one of those cases. He'll be balanced eventually, and until then he will just be banned every game.
I will probably be downvoted and I know that my position based on emotions and not the logic (and it probably will change when I have a time to cool down), but for me - yes. He became a synonyms to poor and slow balancing.

After two weeks of that nonsense you just wanna him gone for good or nerfed into oblivion and left to rot for the next 8 month. Undertuned heroes do not upset balance, they just go out of meta, overtuned ones do.

And the thing is 93.5 % popularity means that he is still not OK. You can counter him, sure, but you have to commit too much resources to it.
Not really, there are a few reasons why. Certainly of course balance is never perfect and any given character may be too good or too weak, lunara at release i think was in the low 30s, and I don't think balance 'ruins' a release, it just impairs the game as a whole, the kit remains new and interesting.

Fenix specifically has very clear counterplay and very specific limitations, so he's not remotely as problematic as the worst launches were in terms of power. Kael'thas one-shotting an enemy team after 16 (well, 100-0ing them with one rotation to be accurate), li-ming deleting anyone she hit with her W with ess of johan and poking down towers incredibly quickly and safely early on, etc.

Most of fenix's elevated winrate comes from the fact that he's stronger against poorly coordinated teams for all the same reasons other characters who share that attribute are: He has solid wave clear, teams don't engage and disengage cleanly and don't focus well so his sustain and escape function far better in that environment, etc.

I doubt he'll ever be good in pro play without having an elevated WR in HL at the same time. They'll either tank him like tassadar, or let him run free like specialists.

Naah, people are just overreacting. He's banned in most of those games, and isn't picked. He has seen play in 2-ce less games than Nazeebo, who has 0,02% lower win rate than Fenix.
People are just afraid they can't play against Fenix, so they ban him every time, thus the 93,5% popularity.

he still needs nerfs, he is the most op hero right now together with genji and maiev.
It has, because Fenix can only go down from here, where the new Hero Deckard can only go up. (I hope, I know blizz hates supports.)
I actually hate mayself when playing overtuned heroes and i really wanted Fenix in the Nexus. I even hoped it would be the dragoon form. Now that we have him with all the hate i don`t really play him. I`m waiting until he gets less popular either thorugh nerfs or other heroes outshining him. I enjoy playing unpopular charachters way more then popular ones.

That said i don`t have a problem with his power level myself. I can outplay him. As a tank main i can exploit his weaknesses. I just feel his waveclear might be a bit too good.
I called this when blizz did their first round of Fenix nerfs. They nerfed the wrong things. He didn't need damage lowered, he needed shields and the stupid !@# teleport looked out.

A get out of jail free card AND crazy sustain makes him never go away.

Now, they'll finally nerf what makes him so frustrating to play against and leave his damage lowered also and he'll be trash tier where everyone wants him.
