Can anyone deny that hots is at a better place now than last year?

Blizzard gets alot of hate, but lets be honest. This game has seen some amazing improvements over the past year.

Maps:

I wasn't a fan of the ammo changes, but alterac pass, Volskaya foundary, and the reworked Hanamura have all been amazing additions to the game. They all needed some balancing changes, but are unique in different ways. The visuals are incredible and they have fun mechanics.

Heroes:

The Bad: Tracer and genji have been nerfed to oblivion and the hyper-mobility has been dialed back alot. They've listened to their fans and haven't introduced a ton of new overwatch heroes. Varian, who used to run around with many charges of invulnerable now has to make a sacrifice when picking shield wall. Diablo can't nuke squishies from halfway across the map anymore (but will still punish the hell out of heroes for over-extending).

The Good: Raynor, Lunara, Azmodan, and tyrande are all viable now. I know some people were not happy with the role change of azmodan/tyrande, but they are so much more impactful in matches now.

Overall i'd say that while 2017 HOTS was a negative year for the game, 2018 has seen nothing but improvements.
I miss getting gold after every battle. And I hate this stupid loot crate system where all I get are duplicates.
And no, HotS is in a state of continuing decline. I take issue with a lot of their balance decisions the last 2 years even. I think I had the most fun when I first started in 2015/2016.

There's no more gold after every match? I hadn't noticed.

Gold only comes from the daily quests now.

Wow, how did they justify that change? Completely missed it. Very anti-player decision.
yup played since beta and im pretty much done with the game as of now cant deal with the casuals and constant nerfs to heroes i play yet heroes like kel thalas, genji and azmodan remain barely touched this ties into pro play and alot of the e-league players use these heroes so thats why they remain ignored uninstalling atm maybe ill come back but probably not anytime soon tired of seeing genji in everygame with a comp unable to cc him

I will NEVER forgive them for what they did to Chromie. NEVER.
Well, my very unpopular opinion is its worse.

The maps are amazing. Yeah, I love them, the new heroes super fun. Reworks, meh for the most part are better overall....

What really exist, is more and more and more over the top abilities, escapes, and cc. For example, why does yrel even have an instant mount option? Why does this game have so much insane cc overall now.

Its still a fun game, but I dont think we are in a 'better' spot when a lot of the problems are simply replaced by new heroes and older heroes just become more and more obsolete.
so that's why the grind to get the newer heroes has been much more painful lately. did they announce this change or was it secretly implemented?
Tyrande now heals more than Morales, and that is pretty stupid.
No its worse.

Matchmaking sucks. Report system sucks. Fixing heroes that were not broken like Az, Hammer, and Nova sucks.
Its at the worst point it has ever been.

Simply because of Mephistos consume souls ultimate and the developer team being oblivious to why this is terrible gamedesign.
There's nothing in the entire game that comes close to the ridiculous nature of it.

It's a Nova-ultimate. But it targets everyone. On the entire map. And strikes twice when it kills someone.

A hero that can kill literally every single 50% hp target on the entire map with the press of a button and damaging everyone else so much that the rest of his team can pick them off easily.
No. Literally noone wants to play with such nonsense.

Blizzard, please, you introduce people via Quick Play and you want to scramble nonsense like Mephisto in there?
Glad Shadowmere is being drowned out. The game is pitiful. The devs are pitiful. Blizzcon will be incredibly lackluster unless they announce every change that has been requested to some degree in a general redesign of the entire game. MMR needs to be reset. Forced wins/losses need to be removed. I shouldn't have to play through a predetermined loss like last game with a 83% winrate butcher player in an obviously unfair 4 melee vs VERY NOOB players and 1 melee which die 1v1 all game long into a massive 6 lvl deficit snowball where the only productive element is me getting silenced. (hasn't happened yet but likely in near future now)

I thought tower ammo change was good, but now I'm thinking it's part of much bigger game changes which aren't announced. Specialists being changed completely. While I understand the goal is to make the game more pvp combat brawler oriented, there's way too much PVE for people to comprehend the intent. It's like Blizz is trying to make a new game within the game. Heroes are made and reworked into some seriously OP states with stacked kits which completely depart from the original goal. Blizz will state with Blizzness that it's all part of their design goals, but they're simply making a terrible video game.

They're going to change the rank system finally, but I think matches will still be forced win/loss for maintaining player "engagement."
I can.

I will.

I am.

HOTS is dying and Blizzard's apathy is killing it.

"Maps, Heroes". Those aren't game improvements. Rather improvements in enjoyability(both team sides) with balanced, interesting heroes and a new map has nth to do with eventual issues of others, so those again, aren't improvements, just alternatives.

Game improvements would be to actually work on the Matchmaking, giving more fair matches. Having less stomps due to premades vs full randoms. Groups have to be grouped with other groups with similar or 1-2 people smaller size. Ranking actually reflecting the own skill to some level. Having Performance Based MMR implemented(You can try carry as much as you like, it's impossible if in worst case 4 people are clueless or stubborn). Those are actual game improvements which are currently lacking in HotS. This is what is necessary right now, not just new heroes, experiencing the same crap in just another facade.

What? I just finished a QM, 20G for match completed and 10G for Victory.
